These guys have done wonders for two vehicles that we basically trashed regularly with three kids under 4. I'm talking melted crayons on the leather seats. Very thorough work. Our SUV was a real project on the outside too. Eco Detail spent the extra time, without nickel and diming us, and did the best they could with a very weathered exterior. Even offered for me to bring it back so they could spend more time 'bringing it back' a bit more. This is supposed to be extreme detailing...except they missed many details. Usually the $15-service elsewhere is comparable to what I got. A $200 dollar value but paid $99 with amazon local. I guess with the discounts come reduced details! In particular I am disappointed with the interiors: spray spots pretty much everywhere and dirt build-ups not taken care of. OK.. I'm a little nervous.. I am waiting in Starbucks around the corner during this 3 hr detail of my 15 year old Ford Explorer that i have not really taken care of last several years... my concerns about this location are simple.. it is in the garage under Bloomingdales and it's kinda dark down there. They have several spots in this parking area where 2 people are doing the work. How can they get into every nook and cranny and do a proper detailing in the dark.. I'm just saying..... so we wait. Update to follow. April 3, 2014 OK, here is the update. Again, my white exterior car was filthy... inside was trashed. Inside - Great Job, did exactly what I expected.. Lots of details were attended to. I am really pleased about the interior. Outside - The filthy white truck looks 100% better now. The only issues is that they really needed more time and more LIGHT to do it perfectly.. I got there to inspect and pick up and the hood was still pretty dirty - easy to see on white paint.. needed some elbow grease. I showed them that a quick rub would get out that layer of grime. I helped get the hood cleaned. There were several other areas that needed extra cleaning on the outside.. basically anywhere trim or rubber gasket hit the metal, there was dirt in the cracks. Easily could have been cleaned with 1 towel and a fingernail to get into the grooves. The roof however was totally neglected. It was filthy and they ( and I ) got up there and scrubbed it clean for next 15 minutes. All in all, i am thrilled.. My truck looks really great and if they had 1 more hour, I am sure they would have hit those other details. Oh yeah, and if they had more light.. Eco Detail, invest in some lighting if you are going to stay in this garage longterm. You can't clean in the dark!! read more

Brought in my car for a detail after a rainy week when I drove by the Whole foods to pick up some groceries and I figured I'd give them a try. I was impressed that they were offering waterless detailing and I figured I'd give them a shot, they were busy too. I got one of the mini detailing packages since I needed a full cleaning and I came back to a really impressive job! Although I wished they screwed up and gave me one of the porsches they were cleaning instead of my car. lol. Be back soon! read more

I work across the street from the Friendship Heights location, so I've come here a couple of times because it is very convenient for me. They are open from 8-4:30 during the week, which can be a little tight for me to get back in time to pick up the car, but it's great because it is located in the parking garage for Bloomingdale's and Whole Foods on level P3, and they validate parking for the whole day. And the garage is adjacent to the Friendship Heights metro on the Red Line (you don't have to go outside to get to metro, just go to level P1 and look for the signs) so you can easily go elsewhere and come back. Or go shopping and come back. It's great. I had a full detail on my 7-year-old sedan and just had a basic detail on my new car. Both times I was very pleased. The car looked great inside and out. Staff treated me fine. They have online scheduling so if you take advantage of that you might be able to avoid some of the scheduling issues that others have mentioned in my book. I'm not sure how the pricing stacks up against other detail places, but to me it's well worth the convenience and I like the fact it's supposed to be eco-friendly. Jerry and his crew did a great job on my car. It had not been cleaned in a couple of months and not detailed in a couple of years. I got the Groupon Extreme Detail deal, which included steam cleaning the engine. I was completely happy with the job they did. It was a better detail job than EuroMotors did the last time. They took longer than the allotted 3 hours but there was a lot of grime and they were meticulous. I will definitely return and recommend. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is a complaint I have with all "mall-garage-based" detailers: when you get out in the sunlight, there are inevitably spots missed in the garage lighting. This is not unique to Eco, just the nature of the beast. Brighter lighting in the work area would help greatly. read more

I have never been wowed by a car wash service, so I went to this place with low expectations to begin with. The cost was $100 which included detailing of the interior (doors, front panel, cup holders, etc). It took about an hour and a half for the whole job. It is easy to be fooled by the first glance at the car (especially after the terrible weather here in DC, our car was in a bad shape) but as I walked closer, I realized they had missed so many spots on the exterior, it was ridiculous! Spots were left over from snow, bird poop, which I was able to scrub off with a piece of tissue, and the guy tells me: "... these don't come off unless you buffer the exterior..." Then he starts scrubbing off some areas that I pointed out to him with a piece of cloth and some cleaning solution! So clearly the spots can be removed! Inside the car, there were finger prints all over the front panel, as well as some greasy material that they use supposedly for cleaning/shining! For two days, every button I touched, even the door handles were greasy! Their location is such an advantage to them; in a parking garage, 2 stories under ground, there is no light for one to examine the car in. So one realizes what a poor job they do as soon as driving out of the parking lot. What a waste of money that $100 was! read more

definitely skip this place. I took everything out of my compartments before dropping my car off and they didn't even bother looking into them and cleaning them. When i went to pick my car up i pointed it out to them and they quickly took a rag and just wiped my glove and center console which i could have done better myself at home. Overall, if i spent $9 for an external wash at Flagship it probably would have been better than the way my car looked after this. It's in a semi-dark parking garage so how they see anything inside the car baffles me. Also the fact that they don't use water and just use eco-friendly supplies is telling as my car looked almost identical when it went it to the way it looked when it came out. If it didn't cost so much, I wouldn't be wasting either of our times. Friends, I write this message to you in hopes of saving you the small fortune I wasted on a "detail" job by Eco Detail in the Whole Foods Friendship Heights parking garage. My car was covered in sap and dirt, so I really felt that steam cleaning would be clutch in getting that stuff off. Great. The inside of my car was pretty clean to begin with, but my windows weren't. I really let the guy sell me on a "mini detail" -- $160 -- because I was promised that my car "would look as good as new," and that "I wouldn't even recognize it." These quotes are from the owner of the business -- I'm guessing it's a franchise? -- and not one of his INCREDIBLY HALF ASSED employees. "Give me one hour; your car will shine," he promised. I gave him my cell phone number so that he could call/text when my car was ready. 2.5 hours later, I've done all the hanging around Chevy Chase that I could do, so I came to get my mean machine. Immediately I see wax on my trunk lid. I walk around and see nothing but filth on my BMW's chrome grill and its otherwise shiny, black hood. The interior still has salt crusted on the flooring, Armor All all over the wood grain -- and steering wheel (ever try to drive w/ armor all on your steering wheel???) -- and the windows... the reason I even let these clowns inside my car... were cloudier than ever. Now, you could say I'm being nit-picky. For $160 car wash... you better believe it. The owner takes matters into his own hands -- and away from the ineptitude of his "staff" -- and makes enough effort to get me out of there without causing a fuss. But, let me say this: Armor All is not designed for wood. I'm sure we've all made the mistake of just putting it on any surface inside a car, but after one or two times of seeing how dull it leaves non-rubberized surfaces... well, let's just say that I never again put Armor All where the label doesn't suggest. If you work in the mobile "detailing" business -- btw... when did a "car wash" become a "detail job?" was it the same time that "used" cars became "pre-owned?" -- I would think that you know a little something about Armor All and wood. OR ARMOR ALL AND STEERING WHEELS AND SHIFTERS?!?!?! Total waste of my money. read more

The interior was spotless (I had lots of dog hair) and every surface was armoralled (I had to wipe off my radio display and my cup holders as some armorall had been wiped on them). I Love this place. I take my car once per week. i will never let any other carwash touch my car. Always handwash, with microfiber cloth, the best products, and always my car shines and smells like new !!! I like the convenience as well since wholefoods is right there. This is unusual for me. Given that once you write a statement on paper you cannot undo it. But I am making an exception. I drop my car off at the Friendship Heights location at 12pm. Given that it was a Saturday and they were busy, I agreed to pick up my car at 6pm after work. I telephoned at 4pm to let them know I would pick up my car around 6:15/6:30. I was very annoyed as I was walking towards my car, with the doors and trunk opened. Clearly, they had just started cleaning my car and it was now 6:30. I asked for the $60 that was charged on my debit card to be credited and that I would return another day to have my car cleaned. A reasonable request.... The gentleman informed that the credit had been completed. I gave him $10 because I felt it was the correct thing to do, given that they had started cleaning. Now I realize that was a mistake. Three days later and NO CREDIT! So I telephone this establishment and they inform me that there was a problem processing they credit. Yet I was told to my face the day of that they credited my account. Now they want an address to mail a check. I inform the gentlemen that I work in walking distance from the car wash and I can bring my card to him to preform the credit. Now I'm told by him that he can only mail a check? THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! I will return again! I do not support SHADDY/UNETHICAL businesses. I am a retailer. Your reputation is everything! HORRIBLE SERVICE. They advertise as part of Eco Car Wash. They are not! I've been going to the Tysons location for years, and I'm very happy with them. I figured this would be convenient since I work upstairs, at Bloomingdales. I turned my car in and was told it'd be ready by 2:30pm, and someone would call me when it was. I got busy with work, so I didn't notice the time. At 5:00pm, I walked over to pick up my car and noticed there's no one there. The sign says they're open until 6:00pm, but not a soul was present. Frantically, I ran upstairs to call them (no cell service in the Garage). The owner, Dimitri, says to me, very nonchalantly, keys are under my floormat. What?!?!?! They left my 2016 BMW unlocked in the middle of a busy public garage! I never received so much as a phone call to say my car was ready. If you're reading this review, consider yourselves warned. Save yourself the time and headache. Take your car to a legit EcoWash and forget about this hoax! read more

I went to the Wheaton Location I believe they have about 5 or 6 locations throughout the area. I purchased the Extreme detail from Amazon deals. They shampooed my seats & mats did the trunk and engine. My car looks showroom ready. When I brought it in due to my kids there were crumbs and stuff all over the place. Sticky stuff stuck in the cup holders, the gear shift, everywhere and they got all of it out. It started off rocky because they guys was 1/2hr late but he made up for it in my finished product. Waste of money! My husband paid $160 a full body detail (interior and exterior), but so many details were missed. They made more spots on the windshield and almost all the interiors of the car had spots and dust that they hadn't even bothered to check or clean at all. Even the vacuuming of the inside of the car was sub par - they basically made no effort to do anything beyond what a $15 car wash would do. Actually, I've had better $15 car washes. I am so disappointed, especially after having spent so much money I have nothing to show for it. They didn't even bother to wipe off scuff marks on the outside of my car that I was able to clean off with a piece of Kleenex. Don't waste your time and money - my advice, please go somewhere else. **UPDATE** We took the car back to the company to ask them to please try and clean some of the interior spots they had left, and they did agree to do so. They didn't get everything they missed but they did try. And the employees complained that that the lightning in their work space is bad so they can't see the dirt on the cars. I mean c'mon - whoever owns the place should make sure there is proper lighting in there at least! read more

I bought a groupon the other day, I called before I bought so that I could be sure they'd be able to give me an appointment soon. They actually gave me an appointment for the next day. I dropped my car off before going to work, the guy told me what time he would be leaving for the day. He also called in the afternoon to remind me and let me know where he'd leave my keys. The two gentlemen I dealt with were very polite and communicative (one of my requirements for 5 stars) and they did a good job. read more

First the positives. I got an "extreme detail" through an Amazon deal for $99, and since that included engine (my engine was filthy) and since they also claimed to be "eco" (I hate some of the nasty chemicals some places use), I thought I'd give it a shot. Here's what I liked: - interior nicely done, doesn't smell nasty like some details, in fact, pleasant - leather feels softer again - engine job was pretty decent, not spotless, but a huge improvement - trunk also decent, still spots along edges but vastly improved - wheels look great, especially all the spoke thingies on the hub Now the bad: - they left a voicemail to say they were leaving for the day in three minutes (that was the first call to let me know it was ready); I ended up not getting the car until the next day! - my exterior looked dirty (birds) but shiny when I brought it in ... and now looks totally dull, the opposite of what you'd expect for a detail - some basic gum (from tape) that could have been .... "detailed" ... off the chrome was not removed - some rough spots in the old paint have been made considerably worse (OK OK, it is an old car) I asked what was up with how they dulled up the vehicle, and they claim they use a "special no-rub wax" that doesn't need to be buffed. Hmm, sounds lame to me. A real detail shop will make an old car look practically brand new. This place did well on the engine and interior, but actually made the exterior look older. Very weird. If your car is new, probably OK. For older cars, not a good place to go. I would never pay full price for this place. On the other hand, with the Amazon discount, it's OK if your main priorities are stuff a regular car wash doesn't get to--like the engine, trunk, nooks and crannies between the doors--then at the discount price, it's a fair deal. read more

This place is not well marked and the locations not the most convenient.I wasn't told all the information that I needed when I made a phone call... Such as the guy who does buffing is only there from 8 o'clock to 3 o'clock. However the service that I received when I did go was excellent I was 40 minutes late for my appointment because I couldn't find the place and they still completed the full job. My car looks beautiful and it's definitely the best detailing experience I've ever had. The interior especially looks nice, the outside is gleaming, and they even cleaned my engine. I had quite a bit of scratching from the parking garage and sitting on the side of my car and it's almost unrecognizable. Well done! With the Groupon rate I would come again read more

Phenomenal job! We too were taking advantage of Amazon Local deal and couldn't be happier. They detailed our 8 year old minivan which is our primary car and regularly full teenage boys, hockey and baseball equipment and often full of sand from beach vacations. The car was thoroughly clean inside and out - it looks fantastic. We were "skeptical"of a place that uses eco-friendly chemicals and is locating in a garage, and the results are amazing. As good as any other detail we have ever had - and my husband is a stickler for this stuff. And we love that it is clean but doesn't have any residual chemical smell. they also paid extra attention to a recent scuff on the bumper. Miracle workers! Yes, I'm the idiot who left her sunroof open as it poured all night long. Then I got sick and didn't see the car for a week. The car had inches of water in cup holders, soaked seats and floorboards, and lots of mold. It stank! Eco Detail picked it up and delivered it like new in 3 days. Along the way, they vacuumed out 5 gallons of water from the seats, mats, and floorboard. At my request, they gave me a custom wash and wax so the car would look perfect when I got it back. The cost? Interior detail, $190!! Exterior, $60. (The cost includes tax.) The car looks better than when I bought it. read more

This dude is a snake. My car is flawless, always garage parked, got it opti coated to prevent scratches/swirling and I always get it hand washed which I usually do myself. I just got back from a road trip and had a lot of bugs on it and didn't have time to wash it. He convinced me I needed to get the exterior detailed to remove the pollen and bugs. I come back 4.5 hours later. Still bugs! He claims he couldn't remove the bugs which he told me earlier that he could. He told me to tell him next time. Does he really think I would pay again for a dirty car?! After I took my car, I looked at my interior and there was smudges all over the wood trim, dash. Save your money folks, don't go back to him. They got my 95' M3 very clean and nice looking, especially the engine. However, whoever cleaned the front-seat floormats did not realize that they were attached to the floor and just ripped them out of the attachements. Fortunately, I was able to fix that myself. Also, the leather door covering on the passenger's side came loose somehow due to the cleaning and needs to be reattached to the door. I have not yet got an estimate for fixing this. It is also interesting that no one at Eco Detail pointed out these issues to me when I picked up the car. read more

Awful! I've been to the Friendship Heights location several times for the full detail and I always had a great experience (which is why I'm giving 2 stars and not 1). This time I didn't think I had enough time for a full detail so I signed up for the $40 wash. When I got there the guy insisted that I had enough time (only 1.5 hours) for the full detail, so I paid my $160 (and 20% tip) and left to let them do their job. When I picked up my car the outside looked great, but when I got in I thought it was strange that my seats weren't the slightest bit damp as they had been every other time i've had my car done there. When I got out into the light there was still sand in my doors, dirt on the back of my seats, bird crap on the car. They did an awful job. I called and he offered to fix it. I brought it back the next day and showed him where the issues were and left it for him to fix. When I returned he told me he redid the doorways, the windows, and the seats. Again, in the light I found there is still some dirt on the back seat and bird crap on my windshield...the sand is gone, but it's still dusty. How is there dust if it was steamed...a second time!?!??? I'm pretty sure I got the mini detail and not the full and they only used a vacuum on my interior. Will never go back here again and neither should you. read more

Total bait and switch - I scheduled an appointment for a full interior detail which is listed as $80 on their website, but when I arrived I was told it was $50 to vacuum the interior and $120 for a full interior detailing. When I mentioned that the website has this service listed as only costing $80 I was basically just told sorry, there's nothing that can be done to change the cost. Ended up spending $3 to pay to get out of the garage. Complete waste of time. read more

Here's the trouble. The guy booking the appointments and the guys doing the work really lack communication. Multiple people, myself included, showed up after being told to come in at a certain time only to be told we weren't on the list for the day. The guys doing the work are diligent hard workers stuck in horrible conditions (esp in Summer!) who don't want to do a "half-ass" job. But given the idiots upstairs, customers are stuck waiting four to five hours for a turn. I don't recommend. read more

I brought my car today for full detail and it is cleaner than when I first bought it. I could not believe it. The staff: very friendly, hard. Working, and they definitely know what they are doing. The manager is such a great guy. Communicates with you and explains to you in detail about the whole process Price: extremely competitive I would definitely bring my car again; for those of you who are Eco friendly and care about our environment, this car wash facility uses steam instead of gallons and gallons of water. read more

Had husband take car in for the mini detail (interior and exterior, medium-sized car) = $80. First time car had been washed or cleaned inside in two years. It was covered with pollen and dust. Sending husband was bad idea. They could have ADDED dirt to the car and he wouldn't have noticed. Sure enough, I see that although the car looks great, they've issed a few things. Like the crud that accumulates under the cover of the electrical outlet. The crud that accumulates in the tracks alongside the trunk. I took it back the next day and they quickly acknowledged that they'd missed these areas and re-did the entire job even though that really wasn't necessary. I also asked if the car needed a full detail and they very honestly said no, it didn't. Definitely worth the money. read more

when they say "detailing" that - by definition- means taking care of details. The tree and bug stains on the hood of my car - the 'owner' said would be gone with his fabulous steam wash - were still there. the garage corner where they are stationed is too dark to even notice what they have and have not done (whether this is by design or just pure coincidence). the interior was not washed or cleaned or detailed. do not waste money on this glorified, over-priced car wash. unless, of course, a car wash is what you want. this is definitely NOT a detailing service. read more

Got the car detailed (interior, exterior and engine steam clean, $190 total), interior was pretty good, however they overdid it a bit on the grease to make it shiny, the steering wheel was slippery, the windows a little streaky. The exterior looked good at first, but later I noticed that it had been a glorified car wash and wax, not a detail. Bug smudges and caked on dirt particles had simply been waxed over, which you can feel, when you run your hands over it. In addition there were areas that had been waxed, but not polished, so looked dull (it was done in a fairly dark garage). After I complained to the owner, he got me another (90 min) appointment at a different location. There the person redid the exterior, it looks a little bit better, but still can feel all the roughness that has been waxed over. He did fix the windows very well. Overall a mediocre job (after partially redoing it and spending more of my time waiting), but not quite a real detail and not worth $190. I may have expected too much from my nearly 9 year old car. I have to applaud the owner for really trying to make me happy and for a really good business idea. However, I do not think that having one person at each location is quite enough. The guy at Democracy Center (first location) had no idea I had made an appointment and was still busy doing another car when I showed up, which probably explains, why he only did a mediocre job. The parking arrangements in the Democracy location did not work, security would not let me in at first. Then they let me in, but made me park the car next to them and go down to have the Eco detail guy come up to get it, which he couldn't do (cause he was still doing another car and had no idea I had an appointment). So I went back up and got the car myself after having yet another discussion with the security person. In summary: efficiency is poor, only one person in each location I visited (Democracy center and Rockville Town Center garage), interior job pretty good, a bit greasy on the dashboard and slippery steering wheel, exterior job no more than a poor car wash with dirt and bug residue waxed over to make it look shiny, engine stream was OK. Definitely not worth $190 and 4 and a half hours of my time waiting. read more

Utter scam. Bought a Groupon for the Mini Detail & DrivePur Health Treatment. Instructions said to book online - there is no option for that combination. Called to clarify, was told that I had to use the online booking. Booked an appointment for the closest service I could find, there was no place to enter in a Groupon code. Presented it at my appointment, and the employee said that was fine. Got an angry phone call after the appointment saying that I couldn't use the Groupon on that appointment, that I had to pay for it or the employee wouldn't get paid. I explained the issue, they said that they'd send me a voucher equal to the value of the coupon, but they had to charge my card. I was angry, but I finally agreed because I didn't want the employee to suffer. Well, they charged my credit card, marked my Groupon as redeemed, and never sent me the voucher. Like I said, utter scam, and I'll be calling the BBB. read more

Worst service EVER. They took off my child's car seat out (without me asking them) and did not secure it back - I only found out when I put her in and she fell over - literally criminally negligent. And I just found a garbage bag in the back which they had thrown everything they found in the car (books, a blanket, etc) in with an unfinished bottle of milk. Needless to say, everything is covered in sour milk. I will NEVER use them again. Horrible. read more

This place is horrible. I would recommend Total Recon instead. Bought my car in at 1:15pm and they stated it would take three hours and be finished by 5:30pm. Mind you I have an Acura Integra. Went back to check on the car at 4:30pm and they had not even started on it. Only one guy there who stated that it would take three hours to finish my car. Okay that is 7:30pm. I bought my car to you at 1:15pm. I even had an appt. My car is compact, but they insisted it was a medium size car for an additional $15. I spoke with Bobby and Dimitris the owner. This place is located in the parking lot of the Rockville Town Square. Not a shop but space in a parking lot. Horrible service and I advise you not to go there at all. read more
