We got there on time but just waited in lobby for 10 mins before someone came out, we thought they might have been closed as google says they close at 8pm. We felt rushed into the room and the room says it was a 4/5 difficulty which MAYBE for your first escape room is true but we got done in 30 mins when the room said it had a 30% escape rate. Overall, just felt it was not very well put together and easy. I would recommend for a chill first time escape room but not if you have experience in these or are expecting a very spooky scary room.

Hands down one of the best fun filled no fuss birthday parties we've ever thrown for our kids. From high end gaming chairs, a selection of Xbox, PlayStation and PC gaming devices to individual monitors, headsets and games projected on the walls, my kids and their friend had an amazing 2 1/2 hours of gaming fun. Our host (Mr. Reilly) was so knowledgeable and so patient. He stayed in the room helping get everyone setup accordingly and even shared some tips and tricks. The cherry on top of the day was the owner and his hospitable spirit that started from the time we arrived. He even put the NCAA tournament on the big screen so we parents could relax and check our brackets :). We booked the only room that was available and just our luck, it was the most difficult room (besides Aztec Ruins, which is difficult because you have the chance to win an Xbox). We did the Ghost Hunters room where you are set in a scene where you are trying to set a ghost's spirit free. Definitely spooky! You are allowed three clues, so use them wisely! This experience was different for us because there were a lot of locks but not all had to be opened, so pay attention to the story line. The location is conveniently located near Carowinds so if you are out of town and need some other activities to do besides the amusement park, this is a great option! The staff here is SO friendly. You can tell that they are all so smart and love what they do. The game maker even added personal touches to really make the birthday boy special.

Waxhaw Escape room is by appointment only - so make sure that you just don't show up. They are located in a business strip next to 9rounds. It was really easy to make the appointment online. We were greeted right when we came in the door. The lobby area was nice and inviting. No cell phones are allowed and there are lockers to place your items. We received a brief tutorial and then it was time to put on the gear. We put on 4 sensors (on our hands and feet) and then the VR headset. This was my first experience and I enjoyed it. We…read moredecided prior to the party that the kids would build individual rooms to be put together to create a dungeon. Mark and Mara had everything all set up prior to the kids arrival. They then step by step told the kids what the needed to create their rooms. After the dungeon was created, Mark pulled out a game Level Up! developed, 'Dungeon Madness: Time Crash.' Every child was immersed into the game. We had to pry them away for cake, which has never happened. Oh and they were having so much fun the party ended an hour later than scheduled.
