Waxhaw Escape room is by appointment only - so make sure that you just don't show up. They are located in a business strip next to 9rounds. It was really easy to make the appointment online. We were greeted right when we came in the door. The lobby area was nice and inviting. No cell phones are allowed and there are lockers to place your items. We received a brief tutorial and then it was time to put on the gear. We put on 4 sensors (on our hands and feet) and then the VR headset. This was my first experience and I enjoyed it. This was a great family team builder. Everyone had a great time and we plan to return!

We booked the only room that was available and just our luck, it was the most difficult room (besides Aztec Ruins, which is difficult because you have the chance to win an Xbox). We did the Ghost Hunters room where you are set in a scene where you are trying to set a ghost's spirit free. Definitely spooky! You are allowed three clues, so use them wisely! This experience was different for us because there were a lot of locks but not all had to be opened, so pay attention to the story line. The location is conveniently located near Carowinds so if you are out of town and need some other activities to do besides the amusement park, this is a great option! The staff here is SO friendly. You can tell that they are all so smart and love what they do. The game maker even added personal touches to really make the birthday boy special.

The design options are endless and the price starts from $28+. Occasionally they will promote a special for the month at $25 so be sure to check their IG first. If you have a group of 8+ you can reserve the entire studio for 2 hrs for your group with 30 mins to setup prior. There are different options to pay and they can customize it to what works best for you incase you want to pay for the group, some of the group or none of the group!
