Great place to eat. Stopped mid afternoon and had super fish (grouper) and chips, the best Rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries. Our server, Kristen, was helpful and congenial . Will return the next time we're in town.

Bang Bang Shrimp ... should've taken a before pic ... this item is legit!

Food here is great ... it was a beautiful day out so I'm sure the place was packed because of it. Service was a little slow but that allowed me to enjoy the Guinness. Cheers!

We ate here tonight for our seventh anniversary. It was delicious! Our waitress was awesome, and they even had live music! We had the lobster stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. They were great! We both had side salads, which were amazing. The lettuce was crisp and fresh, the tomatoes were just the right size for nice forkfuls, and the salads themselves were larger than at most restaurants. For my entrée I had the blackened snapper with a rice pilaf and mashed potatoes with gravy. My boyfriend had the 14 oz ribeye with mashed potatoes and gravy. We were both blown away by the size of the entrées. There was no way we could leave hungry. The snapper was seasoned nicely, and the ribeye was so tender my boyfriend hardly used the steak knife to cut it up. The lady doing the live music was great! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back. We were here on a Saturday night. I don't know if they have live music every night or not. Also, I recommend making reservations. We didn't, and we were lucky they had a table available when we arrived. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but you can't hear the live music as well outside. They have a bar as well, if you enjoy that type of thing. The restaurant is across the street from the historic Carthage courthouse. It is also part of the historic downtown area of Carthage. Just a few doors up is the historic Walton Hotel, which I also highly recommend, and a number of other small town businesses you should definitely check out if you are in the area.

But I have to say something about this ridiculous breakfast/lunch system. We sat down at 10:22 this morning. Our server tells us we have 8 minutes to order breakfast because at 10:30 they stop serving breakfast. Okay, no problem. So naturally I say, "Alright, we'll just order lunch." Nope. Apparently she can't put in a lunch order until 11:00. So from 10:30 to 11:00, we're just supposed to sit there and stare at each other. Seriously, what is this system? I'm sitting in a restaurant at 10:30 in the morning, hungry, surrounded by food, and apparently there is a 30-minute period where I am not legally allowed to order anything. It's 2026. We have AI, self-driving cars, phones that can translate languages in real time, and refrigerators that can tell us when we're out of milk. But Town Square Social apparently has a computer system that says: 10:29: "Would you like breakfast?" 10:30: "Absolutely not." 10:31: "Can I order lunch?" 10:31: "Don't get crazy." 11:00: "Okay, now you may eat." Again, I LOVE this place. The food is fantastic. This isn't a knock on the staff or the restaurant itself. But somebody needs to fix this stupid system. If I sit down at 10:22 and decide at 10:42 that I want lunch, I feel like we should have evolved enough as a society to make that happen. Until then, I guess I'll just stare at my wife for 30 minutes and contemplate my life choices. Great food. Great place. Absolutely ridiculous system.

I would have expected (and forgiven) some hasty replies given the state of chaos, but the staff was genuinely so wonderful while working their butts off. We ended up finding a spot in the upstairs seat-yourself section within 10 minutes and had excellent service from the bartenders up there. Great TVs and fun atmosphere to watch a game. The food was excellent overall. The hot honey pepperoni pizza with feta was phenomenal, so delicious. The pesto chicken sandwich was also great. We had 2 hot chicken sandwiches which were good. Everything was hot and fresh. Reasonably priced & good quantity of food for the prices. I would definitely come back, and will make a reservation next time to make everyone's life easier!

We just finished up at the Catbird Seat and Ashley had called next door to see if they could seat us at the Patterson House. As it turns out they could, and they were ready for us when we made our way across the hall. They gave us a choice of where we'd like to sit, and there were two chairs at the end looking out of the windows at skyline of the city. What better way to end a lovely evening with a lovely lady, but with a lovely view and some fantastic drinks? Holland, like the country, greeted us and set us up for the evening. Holland brought great energy, and was super welcoming. They even offered us drinks on the house for the engagement. Totally unexpected, and that just meant we had to have more than one round to make sure that we could appropriately tip and show our appreciation for the amazing hospitality! The drinks were great. I tend to gravitate towards the less sweet. The Japanese Anchorage scratched that elitch very well being boozy forward, with hints of flavors. She had the Late Summer Margarita, refreshing and sweeter. We shared the Thai Tea Banana Colada. Definitely the sweeter side, but couldn't pass up the opportunity. Very good, a little sweeter and a little heavier than I'd normally prefer. It met both of our preferences right in the middle. Compromise, right? Great experience, and would absolutely come back when in town!

I recommend taking a ride share and walking to your venue on a nice evening. I'm glad the Voorhees building is being restored. I'll be back to try their burger!
