We've made several trips here, and we were finally able to stay in one of the bungalows in the newly opened area called The Hammock. The tiny houses are quaint and comfy, but have everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. We had breakfast both mornings in our bungalow with the farm fresh eggs they left in our kitchen's mini fridge, along with fresh sourdough and muffins from the kitchens pastry chef. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant, as well as a less formal fish fry on Friday night at The Roost. Everything was incredible--I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. About 3 years ago, I bought four beautiful trees from Southern Tree Farm and had them planted by…read morethe company. Two trees were in small containers and they have done wonderfully well after planting! However, the two larger trees have struggled for three years and one of the trees is slowly falling to pieces. The one that is clearly going to die had a cut main root when it was planted. I was told by the staff that it would live if it survived the year. It survived but is not going to be here by next year. The other large tree is struggling but might make it. I've recently read that when planting trees from containers you must unroll the root ball. I know this wasn't done and I suspect it is the main problem. The dying tree can easily be rocked back and forth and could probably be pushed over. The roots have not spread out. I've used other Shaw service with good results but I don't think I will in the future.
