I went to Diamond D. For a school field trip it was nice and the kids had fun. This place is good for small kids.

First time here last weekend for the Family Farm Day and we had a blast! It was pretty easy to find you just follow the signs that point to parking. People with reflective vests will tell you where to park so it's smooth and easy to get out when you need and no one is blocking you in. We ordered our tickets online and they were in my inbox within 5 minutes of placing the order. We signed the waivers and the young ladies at the desk scanned our tickets. They gave us a map and wrist bands. The map tells when the nature walks will take place and there's also a speaker system in the pavilion and other places to hear announcements. The only thing we didn't get to was the cow milking (not a live cow) and the nature walk but we weren't too disappointed because the highlights were the pony rides and feeding the bison and cows! It was clean and everyone was helpful. My daughters and I went to one of the restrooms but the women's was clogged with toilet paper - when we stepped back outside I saw a worker and flagged her down to let her know and she said "oh thank you!" And got right on the walkie talkie and within minutes had one of the men over there and it was fixed. Meanwhile we went to another restroom just down the walkway. We bought T shirts and a tumblr, had some BBQ and milkshakes.. all was delicious and wonderful! Would definitely go back again. Well worth the money for my family of 4 to have an epic day! read more

Attended a event they throw quarterly.missed everyone since I moved here years ago..but finally made it and had a blast. I won't miss no more for sure! Family Friendly!! Did some damage to my credit card and loved every minute of it. The event is well managed from the buggy rides from your car to the event to the food trucks and clean bathrooms. They had 100 vendors and most I have not seen before. The event is a 3 dayer so you still have a chance to attend otherwise you gotta wait till March. read more

I had no idea that this place existed until I went there for a party. It was not the easiest place to find but I only got lost once. Property is large and the party area is clean and well kept. The bucolic setting makes for a great venue for celebratory events. I did the tractor ride through the farm where the kids were able to feed cows, buffaloes and goats. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ MY RESPONSE TO THEIR RESPONSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST. AND NO IM NOT CALLING YOU...IM CALLING A LAWYER! Very uncaring and unprofessional. Took my 22 years old son to them (who has a disability - autism; speech apraxia) to inquire about riding lessons. My son has been to different riding companies from a therapy perspective and was taught the basics of riding. But my husband and I wanted him to learn how to ride being he had a real interest in it; but more importantly showed he was a natural at it. Everyone (teachers at the therapy school) told us he had great form and showed confidence; and we should look into regular riding lessons for him. We were so proud of him! We decided to look into true learning and not just therapy so we went to Diamond as they are closest to us. My son & I originally spoke to the owner- a woman in her 80's. She told me to call her daughter and speak to her; gave me her business card and cell phone number. I chose to go back so her daughter Cathy could meet my son in person. While sitting on a golf cart with a border accompaning her she told me she would try Kye out; and that she thought she'd have a horse who would work for him. My son was THRILLED! It's all he talked about for days since! She told me to text her and we'd pick a day to start. I sent her the text and never heard back. I sent another text, nothing. Two day later she calls me to tell me she changed her mind that she didn't feel she had a horse that was appropriate for him. I gave her push back; but no; she wasn't NOW going to at least try. Never accessed him, never tried it out as she originally said she would. This is an extremely disappointing thing for our son. Cathy said "your son is "non-verbal" which is NOT true..he has speech apraxia and a severe studder. He most definitely can communicate- not that it has anything to do with riding anyway. But again ASSUMPTIONS! He follows direction well; and has better comprehension skills than most people without a diagnosis of autism. My son is easy going and isn't afraid of new things; he loves people and LOVES horses! I wouldn't be as upset if she didn't meet him - and TOLD him she'd give it a shot. So because he has a disability he doesn't have feelings??? Never even gave him a chance, or assessed him before making the determination. These people should be ashamed of themselves! To me this is discrimination! Needless to say I'm not a fan of theirs! Their response: "We apologize for any confusion, we do not have any staff members or riding instructors by that name. If you could please contact us via phone 904-289-9331 or email info@diamonddranchinc.com ,we would be happy to clear up any confusion. We also do not have any record of you as a customer or any previous contact with us regarding riding services. This place is truly amazing! As a teacher I have been here many times on field trips. Every time I have gone the staff was great with the children and I have always had a wonderful experience. Today we went for Family Fun Day and I couldn't have been more happy about how the day turned out. My 16 month old daughter was so excited to pet farm animals, ride a pony, and so much more. The staff could not have been more delightful, accommodating, and just all around wonderful to us. If you have an opportunity to go and enjoy all they have I would highly recommend it! read more

My family and I went here for a Farm Day event and had a wonderful time. It's worth noting that the folks were very nice. The ranch had several areas for different activities. They had horse and pony rides, a fishing area, and a play area with a bounce house, corn tub, and a spinning ride. Another section shows how milk is extracted from a cow. The main attraction for us was the wagon ride. They take you on a ride to feed bisons, cows, and goats. Overall, I would highly recommend this ranch especially for those with little kids. read more

Was not happy I paid full price to go horse back riding to be given a mule... It was my birthday and this was a present I was giving to myself I was so excited I told everyone I know that I'm going horse back riding but nope instead I got a mule... and I paid full price $104.50 happily expecting and thinking I was going to be given a horse not a half breed nothing wrong with a halfbreed but if they would of told me when I called them that all they had available was a mule I wouldn't of paid and wasted mine or their time going here I'm greatly disappointed and honestly made me pretty sad I was planning this for a month I even requested this day off to go riding so all around just greatly disappointed. I didn't mind that we had to go so slow if it was on a horse but on a mule it literally was barley keeping up with the real horses and kept tripping over it's own feet , I appreciate that the mule even carried me I felt bad that it was so OLD and that I was on it riding her so honestly was just not a good experience for me at all... they did offer me a free ride with a horse after I called and complained since honestly they should TELL PEOPLE AHEAD of TIME because I work a lot and that day was literally my only time off since it was my birthday I could go so yeah the free ride was a nice offer but they didn't wanna refund me at least half the money she said "oh well it's still technically rides like a horse" lol what!? sorry but I shouldn't of been charged full price for a half breed if that was what they where planning to give me. It's as if I ordered a full breed poodle and the breeder brings me a doodle lmao NOT THE SAME THING! The ranch staff were really nice, directed with parking and very helpful. While getting shuttled into the ranch, the tractor driver gave us a brief tour about the ranch, events and animals. I recently came here to try horse riding for the first time and it was so fun! I took a 2 hour trail ride through the ranch and through Jennings State Forest. The guides are super knowledgeable and helpful. The horses are so well behaved and provide a great outlook to observe the forest and the park. The staff does a good job matching size and experience with the horse, pony, or mule you get. I think 2 hours is the perfect amount of time to enjoy a casual ride. read more

Gorgeous day. Friendly staff. Great guide. Despite having to reschedule twice, they were never rude or condescending. Once we actually made it to the ranch for our one hour trail ride, the experience was very nice for newbies. The horses looked cared for and seemed well mannered. Our guide offered info about the ranch and answered every question, all while keeping an eye on 6 greenhorn city folk horse riders. We rode around the perimeter of 550 acres. Meadows, cattle, deer, pine and cypress trees, a couple tiny horses and water buffalo plus a small, private family cemetery provided scenery for our ride. The gentle swaying of horses beneath us through this countryside was very meditative. My kids enjoyed themselves and even the quiet one who very rarely offers his opinion, offered it that day. "It was fun" was his verdict, which is high praise coming from him, especially as it was unsolicited. Next time we go, we will opt for the two hour ride through Jennings Forest. Becoming one with nature is easier when you've got a four legged partner giving you the grand tour. Four stars only cause I wish there were more animals for us to see but that's my dealio and might not be everyone's cuppa tea. Would I do it again? Absolutely I would in a hoofbeat! read more

Went there yesterday with my son and sister-in-law. It was her first time riding but we had a great time! My son was not happy that he had to wear a helmet but I think it actually kept us cooler (I wore one in support of my son and my sil wore one to be safe.) The horses all had personalities that showed up on the ride so you didn't feel like you were doing a typical nose-to-tail trail ride but yet were still well behaved. We did the 2 hour trail ride and really enjoyed going around and seeing the ranch and a behind the scenes look at life on a ranch. We then went into Jennings State Forest and rode around there. Our guide was very nice and answered all of my questions! I would definitely go back for another ride. They also offer many other things and would love to do the cattle drive or a weekend trip. read more

I'm no longer a fan of this Ranch. I honestly don't know where to begin. I called this location, because I've visited quite a few time throughout the years. Being familiar with the ranch and what's to offer, I thought it was a good location to try. I contacted Chrissy, (manager) previously a week ago, with interest to use the ranch for backdrop location for an editorial/print project. They seemed interested from the first Initial attempt, asked for my name, contact info, as well as my website. Gladly, it was given via telephone. A week later today, I called back because a follow up call never took place as I was informed previously. Before I could recap my previous interest Chrissy interjected and said "you called last week, and we don't need anything." Confused and baffled. I said "are you saying you're uninterested?" She said yes. Now, when the call ended I was confused and distraught. A young professional with fashion and visual degrees, with international publications of my work with Vogue & GQ among others, which is scarce in Florida might I add, Jacksonville at that. So I called back just to get one-on-one with Chrissy to better understand what "you're unneeded" exactly meant. I said well I'm a young professional and my goal is to build the community that's scarce here, and get Jacksonville folks together to jointly and creatively merge our talents together seeking future publications. Reason being , I had to move to Los Angeles to further my career. So my mission was to bring those opportunities back home (Jacksonville, FL). She said we have our ads and our market is set, we don't need anything from you. This took me aback because last week, interest was sparked. Only until my personal information was given to her, the attitude towards my mission changed. What could a young professional who's accredited in popular publications, could possibly offer that's "unneeded". So I asked well what exactly is the reason you're uninterested, she says " I don't know how to say this any nicer, we just don't need you" now, me being very direct at this point, I asked was this a race issue. Reason being, the ads for this ranch display a very direct target audience, of individuals who do not look like me. (Wedding photos and such through google) Which sparked the reason of my questioning, following such a vague response like "you're just unneeded". Chrissy then says, I don't know your race and you don't know mine nor my husbands. I never inquired on their personal information, yet I've given them all of mine. And only until then, is when the un-interest took place. She then said you saying race makes us not want to do business. Which to me, was already out of question at this point. I've brought many youth events here, and the irony is. I was introduced to this location when I too was apart of a youth organization. All in all, this ranch will never see a dime of my money or any organization I take part in. As Chrissy told me, "they're just not needed". So I will hold that same statement to heart when it comes to how and where I spend my money. ITS JUST NOT NEEDED will be the first thought to mind. Although folks refuse to verbally convey their disdain towards others, actions however speak oh so profoundly. This place is fantastic! We went to my cousins wedding in March and then went horseback riding a couple weeks after. When we arrived for the wedding the staff greeted us with smiles! I had my elderly grandmother, whom cant get around that great. The staff (a great looking cowboy) opened her door helped her out wheeled her wheel chair to the pavilion. The coordinators looked after her and would bring her water and make sure she was comfortable. My grandmother bragged and bragged on them the whole way home and said that those were the sweetest people she had ever met (I agree). When I returned to the ranch a couple weeks later with my spouse he was just as please with this place. We had another great experience! Their horses are well taken care of and beautiful! It was walk only but you can tell they put safety first. I cant wait until my children are old enough to go to camp here. We are in love with Diamond D Ranch! read more
