I always ride pass this nursery and always say I will stop by. Well I finally did. Me and my husband stop by during the week and let me tell you this place is always busy which is a good sign. They have the most beautiful plants, flowers, trees, fruit trees, vegetables, and fruit. They also sale all of your potting soil, needs etc. This is now our go to place for all our planting needs. We always support local businesses.

I concur with other Yelpers that this nursery is one of the best in the Jacksonville area especially with the pricing and variety. This is one of the larger nurseries that carry a nice selection of healthy plants and you'll definitely want to drop some cash. The flowers available in the springtime are just amazing! The colorful blooms of the Zinnias and the shapes and color combinations of the Caladium leaves really is a gorgeous sight. If you're looking for some fruit trees or fruit producing bushes and vines for your yard, look no further. Gore's Nursery carries many varieties of persimmons trees, mulberries trees, citrus trees, blueberries bushes, blackberry vines, and even my favorite Miracle Berry Tree which is not common to find in any nursery this far north. And at prices ranging between $5 to $25 cheaper per tree than some of the other nurseries I've frequented in the area, you can afford to pick-up a few to take home. In addition, they offer plenty of gardening necessities such as fertilizers, peat moss, soils, seeds, planters and ton of specialty yard products inside there air conditioned general store so it's a one-stop-shop for all of you plant lovers and gardeners out there [myself included!]. Plenty of ornamental plants to beautify your yard as well as edibles such as all of your herbs and veggies sold as starters or older so you can skip the germination process, they have enough here to keep you gardening all year long. This is definitely a place where serious gardeners go. I want it all.

The owners are raciest. Prices to high. Rental units behind nursery on pruitt lane are in serious code violations, covered in trash and mold.

We were rushed out, we arrived about 30min before closing. Asked a couple of questions regarding a few plants I was interested in, that was also rushed. One gentleman brushed us off and asked someone else to assist us. As much as I loved their garden and so many different types of roses, I will not return. I get much better customer service at Hall's Nursery on Blanding. I was disappointed with this place.

Great selection. We went on a busy Saturday and parking wasn't ideal, but it all worked out fine. Good prices on plants.

Two trees were in small containers and they have done wonderfully well after planting! However, the two larger trees have struggled for three years and one of the trees is slowly falling to pieces. The one that is clearly going to die had a cut main root when it was planted. I was told by the staff that it would live if it survived the year. It survived but is not going to be here by next year. The other large tree is struggling but might make it. I've recently read that when planting trees from containers you must unroll the root ball. I know this wasn't done and I suspect it is the main problem. The dying tree can easily be rocked back and forth and could probably be pushed over. The roots have not spread out. I've used other Shaw service with good results but I don't think I will in the future.

Dinsmore Florist - Flower arrangement

She was an amazing woman and gifted floral designer. Ms. Pat did my son's wedding just this year and we were thrilled with the beautiful flowers she provided. Last week, however, I had a very different experience with Scott. My mom ordered fall flowers to be placed at my father's grave. She asked for gold's, burgundies and other fall colors with mums and those types of fall flowers. Incredibly, what we received was a ugly arrangement of red roses and blue flowers. This exact problem happened last year as well, which is why mom was so specific. When I called to let them know that we wanted the flowers replaced, Scott just didn't care. He wasn't rude, but he simply did not care that the flowers weren't right, that we weren't pleased, and said to me "I did the best I could to pick out the most fall looking arrangement we had." He offered to refund our money (yes, please) and then had the audacity to tell me that since we weren't pleased with what they had sent if we wanted to order any more flowers from them we would have to come in and pick them out at the shop because they wouldn't send any more out. I was speechless. To say that I was astonished at such a response would be an understatement. 26 years of being a loyal customer and this is his response. He never spoke any word of apology about the horrible flowers he sent that were nothing like we ordered. Honestly, it made my heart sick. I can't believe that any business owner would be so apathetic to the needs of their customers, particularly one they've had for 26 years. I'm also a little surprised at how sad I feel about the whole situation. Regardless, I won't be back. There are plenty of florists who do value their customers and I'm sure we can find one.

Simple, rather unassuming place, the Mulch Outlet Store sells mulch they've manufactured…read morethemselves. There are only two locations - here and in Ohio. They offer many varieties of mulch and sell either bagged or bulk. (We were told that eventually they will be selling dirt as well.) We chose their Weed 'n Feed mulch in a red color and are very pleased with the results. The bags are a bit more expensive than in traditional stores but the bags are larger and the quality is a lot higher. My husband was thrilled with the quality. When we mulched our tiny front yard 2 years ago, it took almost 14 bags of other brand, this time it only took 7. (We bought a total of 10 bags, and have reserved 3 for settling.) Out of those 7 bags opened and scattered, it was all quality mulch, no garbage found. The two gentlemen we met there (one was the owner I believe) were very pleasant and quite helpful. They knew how much our car could hold and assisted my husband in loading up the bags. They are located on the northern part of Lane Avenue, a few blocks north of Commonwealth Avenue over some really crappy railroad tracks. (Slow down when you go over those things.) But it's really worth it for the quality you get.
