This was a wonderful find compared to the Lowe's and Home Depot garden centers it has everything from large palms to shade loving plants and flowers. I was helped by someone very knowledgeable and courteous loading the plants and assisting with check out by my car. The selection here is amazing and all the plants look healthy and well maintained. The prices too were very reasonable for the size of the plants at that price point. They also had pottery and succulents. I enjoyed taking my time here it was a nice stroll like a small park with shady lanes and anything I could possibly need for my landscaping needs. read more

I recently purchased & had some Sugar Palms (Arenga) installed yesterday and my experience with Unique Plants & Palms has been excellent. Buying larger palms is not cheap so this is a project I have been considering and investigating for some time. A few months back I emailed the owner (Danny) to ask if they ever received smaller (less expensive) versions of the Sugar Palms and he was quick to respond and said they didn't have any at the time but would put me on a list to call if they did, he also answered some other questions I had as well. After a month or so I really didn't expect to hear from them but I received a call saying they had some smaller ones come in. I went up there that weekend and met Lauren, she is awesome and is very knowledgeable, ask for her if you go in. She showed me the smaller ones and unfortunately, I would be an old person by the time they reached a more respectable size but a good option for the right situation, so I ended up going with the more expensive but more impressive larger palms. Lauren told me they were about two weeks or so out on deliveries/ installs which is understandable even though I was anxious to get these put in. It was only a week later when Chelsea called to say they could install the next day, GREAT!!! The install crew showed up right on time, were very conscience of being careful with my yard, pavers etc. My situation was a little tricky as it is behind a pool. They were extremely professional & explained proper care instructions going forward for the next 90 days and going forward. I read reviews of companies before doing business with and I was little concerned as there were some negative reviews about Unique Palms and there are some policies that they have which I'm sure is because they were burned in the past- It clearly states on the receipt No Refunds, All Deliveries Paid in Full before Delivery Schedule. I get it I'm used to paying after the job is completed but I didn't have a problem paying the day before. The palms are guaranteed for the first 90 days as if there's a problem it will show up within that time period. My opinion is if you do exactly what they tell you to do such as watering everyday for the first 90 days the palms should be fine. A few years ago I had some palms installed and even though it was a pain I got every morning at 5AM and watered for 3 months, needless to say I was glad when the 3 months was up. I bought a soaker hose for these and hoping to make my life easier, the previous palms were spread out so a soaker hose really wouldn't work. I'm not saying the previous reviewers did not have some issue but my experience so far has been great & I would recommend Unique Plants & Palms. read more

We bought 3 palms and all of our plants for new landscaping from Unique Plants and Palms. Everyone there was super helpful with information on what plants would be good in different areas of our yard and even took us on a complete tour of all the palm varieties and spent a good hour going over all the good and bad of each variety. We ultimately settled on a single "Nadia" palm in the front and two single trunk Robellinis for the back yard. They installed all three and provided us with great info upon install on how to care for them and keep them healthy, and the "Diamond Cut" on the Nadia is beautiful. We compared prices with several other popular local places and the price difference was negligible and for how much nicer these palms look and how well they are cared for, we were happy to pay a few extra bucks. What we liked about this place was that all their plants and palms seemed very healthy and well taken care of and they seem to carry just the stuff that is popular and works well here instead of all the fluff that other places have. Worst customer service. I agree with the other posters as they are defensive if you ask a question. Go somewhere else. There are plenty of other choices. I've purchased plants at numerous nurseries throughout Jacksonville and St. Augustine and this business is by far the best. The quality of plants and trees, the variety, service and knowledge, and the warranty is second to none. We had a health concern with a $3200 tree. They guided us through reasonable steps to take and time to give it to recover. After 5 months without noticeable improvement they replaced the tree without issue or hassle. My wife couldn't believe I spent this much on a tree so I have an even greater appreciation for them standing behind their product. I've made numerous purchases here and will be a customer for life! read more

Not happy because after deciding on many plants we found out many places with cheaper options so we asked for our money back while the plants were not even delivered to us. We received our money back yet we were charged $314 because we changed our mind(their bank fees). Ended up spending $314 and receiving nothing! This review is not about their plants-trees..they appear to be pretty good. But the ownership/management of this place needs a serious seminar on customer service. They are defensive before you even start on what you want to say! We spent a few thousand bucks with this company only to be treated horribly. Not by their employees working there-they were actually great, but if you ever have to deal with ownership here beware..Rude, disrespectful, and we came away from her wishing we hadnt done business with them. I bought a 30 gallon weeping hibiscus in October. Despite covering it this winter during a cold snap the tree died. The nursery was not interested in replacing it because they had no warranty on their products. Beware of nurseries that sell you plants that won't survive in northern Florida. read more

Absolutely no customer service!!! First let me say that the selection and installation went smoothly. It was a three months later when the tree was not thriving that the lack of customer support reared it's ugly head. My wife called and let Unique Palms know that the palm tree was not doing well we were given watering instructions. The palm tree continued to decline and when we called Unique they said it would be 275 dollars for a site assessment. A friend of who is a arborist came and evaluated the tree and recommended fertilizer we followed his instructions but the tree still is not responding. When we call now they promise that the manager would get back to us and we received no response. Are entire landscape budget $1800 was spent on this one tree and all we want is the tree to be health. At the minimum some sort of soil test/ inspection should have been done when we brought this to Unique Palms attention. Very unhappy customer in Ponte Vedra! read more

Palms, plants, & pots, oh my! :) This place relocated from the Westside of Jacksonville to Philips Highway. The lady told us that they opened this location 8 weeks ago (today is March 20, 2014). They have lots of palms, plants, pots, & art. They had the coolest driftwood art! $180.00 for the driftwood was a bit too much for me, but it was a cool item! I went in looking for 2 similar Robellini palms & need them asap. They only had 2 of them: one single & one triple, but had another shipment coming in 6 days. It's a 2 week wait to have the palms delivered. The triple palm was quoted at $400.00 plus a $50.00 delivery fee (within 10 miles from their location). I'm only giving this place 3 stars because they didn't have what I needed. This place is A-okay, & I will be back. :) read more

I highly recommend this nursery. We have used them twice (our old house and now at our new house). All of our purchases have been of top quality. Service is outstanding and knowledge of plants and palms to fit our needs, was greatly appreciated. Logan has always been very helpful and flexible with scheduling, picking the right plants and understanding of their policies. Yes, they maybe slightly higher than some other places but you get better mature landscaping, which far outweighs the price difference. We also have NEVER had a plant of palm die that we had purchased. Will continue to use them in the future. read more
