I…read moreremain impressed with the variety, quality, and price of the herbs, flowers, trees, and shrubs that are available for purchase here. They also sell a limited variety of fresh vegetables (tomatoes are usually available), honey, and BBQ sauce. Service is friendly and top notch. Most often, we chat with Jim or Angela and give them an idea of what we want. They happily show us what they have that fits, and quote us a fair price. If we buy a bunch of plants, they'll send someone out to help load our car. When we buy larger trees, they have a guy that delivers for a reasonable price. They get pretty busy with customers, but if you catch them at a slow moment, Jim is often good for sharing a story or two. The plants they stock do change from time to time, so you can find a variety just by stopping by every week or two. If you see something you like, definitely buy as much as you think you'll need, because when you come back tomorrow to pick up "just a few more", they'll probably have been cleaned out by other customers, and you'll have to wait for a new shipment. They're not open all year long, though. They're usually closed during the hottest and coldest parts of the year here in Jax, when you're probably not going to be planting much anyway.

If you need additional parking, there is additional parking around the back of the building. They had tons of plants, but I was there to look for pots. Many of their pots (like most places) were what I'd consider high, but it's the going rate. I did speak to an employee and he stated they had some 40% off pots on the side of the building. They didn't really have any that were matching in my price range. They have a nice variety of plants and knowledgeable employees.

Josh Williams and his staff at Williams' Nursery are great people who give back to the community…read more Williams generously donated over $1,000 worth of Hawaiian Ti's, stromanthe and purple queens for a landscaping project at the Sanctuary on 8th Street that transformed its grounds from an eyesore to something beautiful for the children that go there. The plants were strong, healthy and vibrant, too. Williams Nursery has a wide variety of plants and flowers and because they were so nice I will surely patronize them in the future.

In a matter of 30 mins, the whole design was thought up, agreed on and bought. Got home, laid them out and installed the next day. However, Ace Hardwares amazing Florist has closed its doors and my husband decided to try Southern Grace again due to their proximity to our house. While Ace hardware had FREE delivery within so many miles, Southern Grace is much closer to us and there was a $15 delivery fee. I do hope they will consider adjusting delivery fees based on location of delivery. The flowers my husband had sent to me were absolutely beautiful. We have to be very careful due to us having cats and he made sure to mention no lilies. The flowers were beautiful the day they were delivered as well as 4 days later they still look fabulous. I am not sure what he paid for them to determine value, but I do know that the $15 delivery fee was a bit excessive for a 2.5 mile delivery. I do hope they learn from the bad reviews and throw out or donate flowers that are borderline, rather than put them in bouquets people pay top dollar for.

Moving to Julington Creek right across the bridge, we needed shower curtain rods, keys and more keys, screws and such, cleaning stuff, and lot more. I also 'needed' a new canoe with all the extras along with new fishing supplies including bait and new lures. Yes, I know I have two big tackle boxes of lures and other things but, one can't avoid stocking up some more. Hagen has become a short bicycle ride from me and I like a local company versus that other big box store where the bins of bolts and screws are always topsy-turvy mixed up. They actually help you find the right bolt washer and nut you need and advise solutions to problems. Need to repot a lemon tree, they can recommend the right potting mix and pot. Want tips on what bait to use for fishing right there at the bridge nearby, they can help with rigging and bait. Want to find a good range for target shooting, these are guys with knowledge and patience. The ladies at the registers are cheerful, no pointing you to an unmanned register where they watch you like you might be stealing. Following the nose to the smell of popcorn brings a good reward too!
