Using Easy Movers treats you just like family! The complete process is very professional, on time, and courteous. The lead supervisor for our move out and into our new home was Rory. He's a real perfectionist, if you ask/suggest for him to do something (even if it is beyond the scope of the work) he gets it done without prompting. We have moved many times over the past decades but never experienced a team/process to this level. Yes, some items arrived broken but all are repairable, our situation was more difficult because our move required everything to be in storage for about 10 days. I've used easy movers three times. My first experience was great but the quality has gone down. For both moves this year there was a general lack of care around my items . Basic instructions weren't followed . The last encounter was especially concerning bc one of the movers was visibly and verbally angry bc I had " too much stuff to move". There were lots of eye rolls and snide comments when I asked for items to be placed in certain places and to top it off he helped himself to my food, left trash in my garage and then proceeded to clean up at my kitchen sink leaving water everywhere. Moving is stressful enough already, don't add to it by hiring Easy Movers. Fair warning: this is going to be a long review because it was an excruciatingly long move. My husband and I hired Easy Movers after another company lost our reservation. Granted we hired them one day before the move, but now I know why they were still available in the first place. After giving the representative on the phone the list of items we wanted moved (in town), she quoted us 4 hours. We initially only wanted 2 movers, but went with 3 after she recommended we add a man to ensure we'd have everything done within the estimated time. T The movers showed up on time and that's where the positive experience ended. About an hour into the move, my husband and I got distracted and stopped actively managing the move after our cat got out of the house. Two hours later, when we realized we were one hour from our total estimated time, we realized the house had been barely touched. Apparently they had been "wrapping" everything but hadn't actually moved anything (to their credit, all of our box springs had been individually quadruple wrapped - thorough, but a complete waste of our time and money). Our fault for not micromanaging them from the beginning. When they did start moving things, it was like an unfunny Three Stooges skit. The lead mover (the Moe character), was the only one that displayed an ounce of professionalism. The other two cursed at each other as they ran our furniture into our walls, floors and each other. You expect professional movers to be accustomed to navigating large furniture through doorways and tight spaces. Not these guys - it was as if this was their first time doing this. At one point, one of the movers asked me for some Triscuits as a snack, which I admittedly didn't have a problem with at the time and said he could help himself to some of the Rice Krispies Treats too. What I did have a problem with was him leaving the wrappers from those snacks all over our house. We could have gotten movers with their level of professionalism and skill from Craigslist. 5 hours into the move, we finally got on the road to our new house. On the way over, I alerted the Easy Mover management to our issues and when I asked to speak with Don, the owner, I got Darian, the Operations Manager. Darian wound up coming over to the new house (about 7 hours in to the move at this point) and basically said it was on us because the contract we signed said the original estimate was just an estimate and the original estimate had been off. I understand that sometimes things take longer than expected, but the move wound up taking 8 HOURS - twice what we originally expected and had budgeted for. Darian took off an hour and a half from our total bill, which he found fair and we found to be bare minimum given the lack of speed, moving proficiency and professionalism from his team. I explained this to him in person and he again reiterated that the issue was the original estimate, not the overall experience, and legally it was on us to cover the bill, so he was doing us a favor by taking any time off at all. On this, I'll agree with him. It was on us for ever trusting Easy Movers to do a good job. It was on us for taking a gamble with our move and expecting them to be a professional organization. It was on us for assuming they were concerned for their customer's budget and moving experience. I would advise others who are considering Easy Movers to take Darian's feedback to heart and save yourself a lot of hassle by never choosing Easy Movers in the first place. read more

At the time boxes were being packed, 5 workers spread out to various locations throughout my home. The house is just short of 4800 square feet, 3 floors. It was impossible for me to watch all of them at once. So obviously, it was quite easy for one or two of them to take items without me seeing it happen. Just questioning employees present is not enough. Would anyone admit to taking jewelry? Of course not! To state that everything possible is being done is false. I have been threatened to remove my review or face legal repercussions. I have stated the truth, nothing more. Obviously, the only concern is for the reputation of the company, not the satisfaction of the customer. This has been a nightmare of an experience. You have been warned! read more

I went with this moving company because of the Yelp reviews and because their estimate was lower than other companies. Also, Dan was very easy to work with. That being said, I was extremely disappointed with the service. The final price was almost $250 more than the estimate. I understand than an estimate is exactly that - an estimate - but $250 more was not at all what I was expecting. I ended up paying more than the other estimates I received. I answered all of their questions on the phone, explained that I have stairs, and explained that I would have boxes and furniture. So, I have no idea why the estimate was so off. Plus, I feel like it took a lot longer than it should have. I know moving furniture is tough, but it was unnecessary in my opinion for one of the workers to stay in the truck the entire time "organizing" boxes. Two of them would take a load down, dick around for 10 minutes, then come back up. All the while I am just sitting there waiting forever for them to get the job done. I had to fight the urge to take boxes down myself. Not only that, I had plans that night to go to a concert and because they were so off from the time estimate I missed the show. That's another $40 down the drain. I did not tip the movers because of the $250 overage and because I felt like it took entirely too long. I was pleased with the estimate process and customer service I received over the phone and via email. The staff was very attentive and answered all my questions right away. Not so pleased when the moving crew arrived for my move (4 hours, 3 men), one of the men spent 30 mins using my bathroom while the other two worked causing the move to take more time than it should have. The quote I received was higher than the other "two men" movers, but picked Easy Movers because of the attentive customer service. The guys were very nice but it took them hours to completely wrap every single piece of furniture we almost ran out of daylight. They installed the bed upside down. They installed the framing of the bed backwards. But to top it all off they installed my washing machine hot to the cold faucet and the cold to the hot faucet. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dan Tehaan has decided to send me multiple harassing and rude emails after I decided not to use this company for my move. He is the primary reason I did not choose this company in the first place, as he was very rude and condescending from beginning to end and continued to tell me conflicting information about prices, availability for moving, etc. He even actually stated "no one is going to do a move on an apartment that size." Well I did find a reputable and friendly company so they ended up receiving my business. And then three men from Easy Movers show up at my apartment completely unannounced and we're just going to walk in my front door if it wasn't for my dogs. My stuff was already gone at this point and I had no communication with Dan about booking a move. A day later, the harassing emails begin. I am a consumer and a customer, and I have the right to decide who gets my business. I also have the right not to be harassed by the employees of a company when I do not choose their business services. The harassing emails need to stop IMMEDIATELY. Apparently, Don the owner is impossible to contact per his office staff, but he and other customers need to know how blatantly unprofessional and harassing their employees are behaving. read more

Very professional and efficient! The final cost was less than the original estimate (I sold some items prior to the move and I also had all my items boxed and labeled). This is definitely a reputable company and I would use them again for my moving needs. The only issue I noticed was that they propped the washer and dryer up to the connection and did NOT secure the connections. Claimed they had certain insurance protections, they didn't, stated it would cost 4 k extra for insurance that was a pass through to the insurance company, it wasn't. We used Easy Movers to make a 52 mile move from a larger to a smaller home. The office staff was easy to work with and informative. We needed a little more communication from the ops team, because I had to call them to get a time for packing, since they didn't call me. but they took the call and got me the information I needed. The day of our actual move got off to a rough start. The crew was due at 9:30, but showed up at 11:45. This was to load two trucks, transport 50 miles, and unload two trucks. The crew hung with us until midnight that evening. They continued unloading in a rainstorm, which I didn't encourage, but it showed a lot of dedication. The team lead promised to get us into our new home, and the team delivered. I was pleased with the team's performance and amazed that they stayed with it like they did. Points to improve would be ops communication to the customer, and protecting of artwork. We have several nice pieces that were packed with other pieces, offering minimal protection. Make sure you let them know if you have expensive artwork. But overall I would definitely use Easy Movers again. I even received a personal call from Don (the owner) when my call was missed at the office. You don't get that kind of service every day. read more

I had only about ten items that I couldn't move by myself; the crew was very attentive to what I needed and got the job done for this local move in less than two hours. The move was a breeze since I only had 3 major furniture that went to storage and also was only a mile away The movers came in earlier than expected and paperwork was thoroughly explained. The move took 3 hours and the card that was used for payment was different from the card that I gave Dan for authorization. According to Dan, the first card was only needed for authorization and would not be charged. To my surprise, the next day when I happened to check the account there was a $315 charge. A call was placed and asked Dan for an explanation and he reiterated that the card was not charged. I told him that I was infront of the computer and it clearly showed the charge. He told me to call the bank and that if there was a one he will refund it. A call was made to the bank and indeed there was a pending charge. After giving the agent the spiel of what happened, the vendor's name and phone number and the person that I talked to, the agent made a dispute report and will forward it to the department that takes care of similar matters. She said that it will take 30 days at the most to credit the card. Moving is a very stressful event and one does not need to experience such a hassle. I took the word of Dan that it won't be charged and if I didn't check the account the next day, I would have been overcharged. read more

The movers did a good job packing up but the guys would take smoking breaks and I would still be on the clock. They also got stuck in the mud for over an hour and only removed 30 mins from the clock. Company promised me 3 movers and only sent two, so instead of 3 hours to move a one bedroom, it took all day. Also they were a hour and half late. Had an appointment to have a safe moved on Sunday 4/30. Was told to expect them between 9-10am. At 9:30am a "manager" called me and told me a driver was sick and they would not be able to move me that day. I told them this was unacceptable as I had to be out the following day and they we're really leaving me high and dry. Then received a call a while later telling me they misquoted me, they had scheduled two movers when they should have quoted me for four movers. Also, that they didn't have the equipment to move it. Same "manager" started giving me two different excuses as to why they wouldn't be showing up. I was told it wasn't the "managers" problem and that this issue was between me and the salesperson that misquoted me. Very unprofessional of them to figure this out after my scheduled time. Had they said this upfront, that they can't do the job, it wouldn't have been a problem as I had quotes from several other companies. Their solution to solving the issue was to give me the number of another moving company. (Seriously)... I think that should tell you all you really need to know about Easy Movers. read more

My husband and I scheduled a move with this company for our move from our house to an apartment and a storage unit. We exchanged numerous emails, had an in person estimate completed, and our credit card was pre-authorized in preparation for this move weeks in advance. The day of our move, the movers did not show up as scheduled. After calling the company, we came to find out that they canceled our move while trying to cancel a different client's move. (They said a client with a similar last name made it confusing). They managed to get 4 movers to our house 5 hours later. Despite having the 4th person to expedite our move, it took LONGER than originally estimated, which makes no sense to me. Our move took 2 days and our belongings were left on their moving truck overnight in an unsecured lot because it was too late in the day to move things into storage. They were late arriving to the storage unit the next day knowing we were on a strict schedule as we were closing on our house that morning. They dropped our washer several feet off of the moving truck. At the end of the day they wanted to compensate us a mere $100 on our $1430 move. We are very dissatisfied with this company and their lack of attempt to rectify the situation to our satisfaction for this huge inconvenience. read more

They were an hour and a half late which was not the movers fault but the office staff for not telling me that they had "timed out" the night before. This company was recommended to me by our rental agent. Turned out to be a very bad mistake on my part. The estimator misquoted the entire job, saying it'd take 2 guys 2 hours to pack approximately 40 boxes, and two rooms of furniture. When the movers arrived they said that the job had been misquoted and that the quoters never have a clue as to how long it really takes to complete a job. Really? He also said that it'd take them closer to 3 hours to do the job. The majority of the furniture was downstairs, with the exception of a bedroom and all household goods were boxed. It took the movers 5 hours to complete the move. They said it took longer because they had to move some items to the garage instead of everything to the 2nd story apartment. How does that make sense, when the majority of the goods were being moved to a ground level garage versus up two flights of stairs. I purposefully didn't have them move some of my furniture pieces not to mention the washer and dryer to save time and money and because one of the movers was complaining about the stairs (which they knew about before arrival)! They also pointed out in their paperwork that tipping was optional but complained about what little money they make and the company keeping money for themselves! I was a sucker and tipped them at the end. They worked hard, but I was disappointed about the complaining and then finding that one of my sturdy plastic boxes full of glassware had been dropped, the bin broken and some of the items broken as well. Not to mention the fact that I had to leave the pick up location to go meet the rental agent at the new location before they were done packing. When I went back to clean out the old residence, I found that they had missed a significant amount of items in the garage and items on the kitchen counters. We did a walk thru of the house inside and out before they started the project, so they'd know what they were moving. The garage door was open for their access and the clearly didn't look to be sure everything was packed in the truck. When I complained to Dan (the sales rep) he offered a $100 refund for a job that should have cost me at most $300, ended up costing me $500 with the refund.
