Here are 3 different quotes I received from 3 of our offices: "Mike - we love the lighting!! "Wow . . . I can see better. They are finished but my question is with these new lights do we look better :)" "Yes, it's done. It is very white bright light. It looks good. I will send you a photo in a few days". Flickering lights, outlets that were blowing and a sizzling electrical panel demanded quick attention and Bayval Electric were one of four companies who we asked for a bid from for the job. Bayval Electric was our first choice very quickly due to their timely response to come out and they were the first to get a detailed bid quote to us, despite being the third to look at the job. They were also a couple thousand dollars less than the highest bidder. Communication and professionalism was outstanding throughout the entire job. They answered every question, were always on time and demonstrate a meticulous work ethic. At the very beginning Bayval Electric knew exactly what was required to get Modesto City permits and coordinated with MID to complete the work in a timely manner that was a week ahead of the original schedule. They went above and beyond to ensure that the job was done right and in addition to the required work, they eliminated a fire hazard in the house by replacing an outdated screw-in fuse panel and pulled new lines back to the new main panel. They also ran additional grounding lines to the natural gas and water service entrances to further protect the house from lightning strikes. Bayval Electric identified and corrected an installation error on a previous electrical EV charging line done by a different electrical company. We will call them first, without question if we ever need any electrical work. Our home is up to code and we feel so safe due to the diligence and expertise of their work. Highest recommend that we could give.

Being that I have no clue about anything electrical, I immediately assumed that it was a breaker issue (wrong). I called and spoke with Kevin who was able to make time and come out within an hour. Kevin was able to diagnose, fix, and correct the problem within 15 minutes (pretty fast for a finished garage with overhead lights, numerous sockets and switches). It was a burning wire where the line had been capped. Kevin went out of his way to answer some other questions that I had while he was there. He also replaced a cracked faceplate that he noticed - free of charge. Kevin was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. I plugged into our dryer 220v with an adapter which did not work. I researched several electricians with quotes in the $900-$1100 range. I wasn't thinking it would cost that much. A friend of mine, who was getting solar installed, recommended Jose. He said that he was an experienced electrician with reliable insight. Jose was very responsive to my calls and text messages when scheduling our first appointment. Within 30 min, Jose had assessed my fuse box, discussed options on placement of new 220v to save on expenses, and insight on what he has done in the past with previous clients. Not only was his quote $200 less than the lowest, Jose was easy to talk to, professional, and not pushy. We agreed on a date that my wife would be home to allow for garage access. Jose and his partner did the installation within 3.5 hours. New upgraded 50a fuse, proper conduit and gauge wiring from the side of the house, past the side door of the garage, through the wall, across the ceiling and down the far side of the 2 car garage with a proper 220v outlet. We no longer have to drive to the supercharger in Mountain View or Sunnyvale to charge for 90 mile round trip commutes.
