Zara is THE BEST!! I spent a lot of time looking around and Eastside Microblading caught my eye because it had dazzling reviews. My experience was amazing. Once I booked my appt, the communication from Zara was spot on, she was great about texting me to give me specific instructions on what to do when I got there, all the way down to "don't forget to take a picture of your license plate to get the free parking on the parking app". I walked into an immaculate, beautiful, and bright studio. They always have soothing music playing and it is quiet and relaxing. Zara met me with a big hug and immediately made me feel comfortable. She walked me through how to set up the parking on the building's parking app, and then I went over near the chairs and sat there and watched as she meticulously wiped everything down and covered every single surface with sticky plastic. Even the switches on her lamp light were covered. I was curious so I asked her what the sticky plastic stuff was for, and she told me she covered anything she will be touching during our appt with plastic to keep everything sterile. I had never seen this before so I was impressed. She asked me a lot of questions about what I like and what I am looking for, and together we came up with the best method to do my brows. We ended up using her needle machine to do my brows because I wanted individual strokes as much as possible, so they could look more natural than if it was just straight shading, but I have VERY oily skin. I have heard that shading is recommended for oily skin but I didn't want shading, so we did a mix for me. I LOVED the results. She told me that I will go through phases every day of loving my brows one day, then hating them the next day because they look too dark....they say especially day 2 is usually rough for clients because they look so much darker on day 2. I am telling you, every day that I woke up and looked in the mirror I LOVED my brows, even when they were super dark. They turned out better than I ever could have expected. I have a bit of asymmetry to my face ESPECIALLY with my brows, one brow is slightly lower on my face and way shorter than the other brow and before Zara did my brows I would spend literally 20 mins on JUST my brows every morning trying to get them to look similar. Also my brow hairs were so sparse from overplucking and aging, I was working with barely anything to begin with. She made them look like they match while still looking natural. My right brow for some reason doesn't hold color well at all, so my right brow faded pretty fast, while the left one held the color really well. So when I went in for my touch-up, Zara noticed this and went in with a different shade of brown on the right brow, almost more like a reddish color. So when I was done with my touch-up appt, my brows looked fantastic, but the right one looked slightly more red in color and I was wondering if that was intentional. Well, this woman knows EXACTLY what she is doing, because a few days down the road when my brows faded a little bit they match each other PERFECTLY in color, and now I have a normal right brow :D I couldn't recommend Zara more, she is amazing and will not disappoint!! I couldn't find a photo of after the touch-up, but this is a photo taken after the initial appointment. TLDR: I was scared because my brows are super thin. I did a lot of research and she's the best. Amanda's knowledgable, wonderful, patient and took the time to make sure I got the perfect brow. Where do I even begin. I spent what seems like forever researching yelp, instagram, facebook, etc trying to find a microblade artist I trusted enough to fix my brows. After foolishly over plucking when I first discovered tweezers as a teenager, I have spent years penciling them in-and quite poorly at times at that. Amanda has been doing my eyebrows for the last 3 years. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. I was initially looking for someone who is Phi Brow Certified and she came up in my search. I am so happy and grateful I found her. "AMANDA IS A MASTER ARTIST!!!!!" I'm so picky when it comes to my eyebrows before microblading I had thin uneven eyebrows from over plucking and bad wax jobs. If you're looking to get your eyebrows done Amanda is your Girl! She is very responsive, anytime I've had a question she has replied in a very timely manner. She goes out of her way to explain the process and what to expect. She was very clear from the get go that she did not do big bold brows and that they would look very natural. Zara was wonderful to work with in designing my perfect eye and lip enhancements last year! She designed a beautiful lash enhancement that is still going strong and worked closely with me to get the right color and intensity on my lip blush. I love that I wake up with casually colored lips and delicately lined eyes and that I can run out with a quick hairbrush and gloss and that acquaintances mentioned how "put together and healthily glowing" I look when we get together for coffee right after a power yoga class...no touch up required! I also love that her work is so natural and that she even encouraged me to not go so boldly as I initially desired. Today I just had my microblading touchup after I had microblading for the first time 6 weeks ago. Amanda is AMAZING! If you don't go to Amanda for your brows, you're doing it wrong. Amanda is just the kind of perfectionist you want making such a permanent(-ish) change to your face. She's the expert (literally, she teaches this stuff) and will guide you in exactly the right direction. She budgets a solid block of time for each appointment, and spends the first hour just getting your shape perfect, mathematically and aesthetically. Her commitment to her craft is obvious. Amanda is incredible and her attention to detail is second to none. However long you have to wait for an appointment, it is ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. I was super nervous about getting my eyebrows done because I wanted a really subtle look and have seen some really bad eyebrows out there. Amanda listened to everything I said and just blew my mind with how great the results were. Almost an hour went into talking to me and "mapping out" how my eyebrows would look. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and the whole thing was pretty much pain free. I can't even put into words how grateful I am to Amanda! I lost my eyebrows to a horrible wax job when I was 16, and for almost 20 years I have been self-conscious about my face. She gave me the most beautifully shaped, natural looking eyebrows. I'm so pleased. She is not only incredibly talented, but she is sweet, clean, organized and has amazing chair side manner. The environment is warm and cozy, she gives you a fluffy blanket, water and neck and knee pillows. Unfortunately many artists out there are under-trained.
