We did a virtual consultation where I told her about what I want and what I'm looking for and she answered all my questions. It was collaborative and she made me feel really good about the process. The appointment itself was lovely. Her space is super cute and clean and she made me feel so at home and comfortable. Also, I can't think of anyone else I'd rather spend 3 hours of my afternoon with! Kiana is a people person and was incredibly sweet and chatting with her made the process go by super quickly. We went over everything before she started: shape, color, placement, and all the steps of the procedure. I felt so confident in her and could tell that she is a master in her field. I've also had some tell me I needed laser removal. Then one day I just stumbled on Kiana's IG page. I scrolled through her pics and was just amazed at her clients pics! I'm a little picky when it comes to micro-blading. I like the front hairs to be straight up versus curved. I like big, bold brows. So I reached out to Kiana and asked if she did cover up work. I sent her a few pics and thankfully she said she could help! So I made an appointment. Fast forward again to appointment day (today actually), I was super excited! I got there a little early and she was kind enough to seat me in the studio. We went over exactly what I wanted, and I mean exactly. She hadn't even started the brow fill when I said to her that, during a pandemic, I was surprised she didn't ask her clients if they had been vaccinated. Her reply: I don't care if they have been vaccinated or not. As a client, I do care if I am in a room with an unvaccinated person. When I asked her if she had been vaccinated she flipped out, saying that was not my business, and making some other rude remarks about me being pushy and difficult to work with. Then she said she would not do the brows and to not contact her in the future. I walked out feeling that it was in my best interest to not be in a room with an unvaccinated person.

Recently, I decided to treat myself and try the dermaplaning facial where they scrape off all the dead skin and hair on your face. During this facial, as always, Ela explains what she's using and why she's using it which I always find great as I like to learn more about care for my specific skin type. She recently came out with her own skincare line and used a lot of her own products on me during the facial. The results: excellent. I ended up buying a few of her products to take home, her serum and her night cream as I really liked them when she used them on me. Sefora hasn't been doing brows for very long it seems but she says she is certified through Beauty…read moreAngels. She had some good photos on her Instagram. She reached out to me to offer a promotion so I signed up because I've been on the fence and wanting to microblade my thin brows for a long time. She quoted me 5 hours estimation because she is newer. A good experienced artist is *usually* done in 3 hours I've learned. I was on her table for 7 hours and 45 minutes. Completely unreasonable. The day started off fine. I got nervous when it took nearly 3 hours for her to figure out the mapping for my brows. I wasn't happy with how they looked when I left but I just needed to get out of there after 8 hours on a hard table my whole body hurt. Now, I completely understand that you don't get your final result right away and that it needs to heal but this just didn't seem right to me at all. I've looked at hundreds of microblading photos and they never look this bad the same day you leave. I sent my photos to four other artists to make sure I wasn't overreacting and they all agree the shading was off and the lines were not great. One artist said Sefora went too deep into the dermis which is what cause the pigment to be too light, on top of using a shade that was already too light. I had to go through an emergency removal that is painful and Sefora would not even acknowledge any wrong doing on her part and kept insisting it would be fine and I need to let it heal. I have engagement photos in 10 days and now my face is messed up for the next 30 days while it fades and heals before I can do anything to fix it. I wish she had told me before she started that she didn't actually have experience with my type of brows. I asked her for part of my money back for the pain I'm having to deal with and because it was a promotion she refuses to return any of it or acknowledge she made a mistake. The artist I went to for removal had more experience and said I have great skin for microblading but she went too deep. This has been a complete nightmare and exactly why I was so afraid of doing this to begin with. Be careful if you choose Sefora. :( She was very kind during the appointment but it just felt like she didn't really know what she was doing with me specifically.
