I was a tad nervous to have my brows microbladed. I had it done in the past and wasn't super happy with the results and it was the most painful experience I'd ever had, like shards of glass being dragged across my face. I barely felt anything at all when Nikoma was working on my brows. She used two different numbing creams and they worked so well I almost drifted off to sleep at one point! She listened carefully to my concerns and helped me decide on a brow shape that fit my face (I wasn't entirely sure how I wanted them to look). Nikoma will make your #browgoals a reality!! My sad, thin, over-plucked brows were the unfortunate byproduct of being a teenager in the 90s. Then my poor decision making continued into the early 2000s, where I decided that an eyebrow piercing was a good idea (spoiler alert: it was not). The piercing was rejected by my body, leaving a scar behind that created a gap in my brows and making them even more sparse. I eventually wised up and learned to fill them, but it was still difficult to achieve a natural looking full brow after the damage that I'd done to them. I met Nikoma about 3 years ago. She was my hair and makeup artist for a photoshoot. Her work was simply wonderful. Do not be fooled by freckle tattoos as something weird or just a fad. They are AWESOME. I am so glad I got them done. They brighten your whole face up and make you look and feel years younger. I would definitely do this over Botox any day! I am so thankful I found Nikoma. She's an absolute perfectionist. She was so precise. She answered every nervous question I had about the procedure. Nikoma came all the way to Vashon Island for my boudoir shoot with Dana Kae, really really early in the morning when it was still dark and a big storm had just knocked out all the power to the island. We sat in the dark for the first thirty minutes or so, just chatting because we couldn't do makeup in the pitch black or curl my hair without electricity. I'm kind of a shy person, but Nikoma is so friendly and easygoing that I felt relaxed in her presence. When the power came back on, she did lovely things with my hair and makeup. She was very receptive to feedback and happy to make any changes I requested.
