EASTSIDE AUTO LICENSING @ KIRKLAND Parking is available right out front, and it doesn't get too packed, so you'll be able to find a spot pretty easily. My dad and I came around 10:30 AM, and since the line didn't look too long, we assumed we'd be helped pretty quickly. To check in, there's only one entrance and two screens where you put your name and phone number, then sit and wait. They also have a TV that shows your estimated wait time. My dad's estimate was about nine minutes, but 15 minutes went by and we noticed some of the staff just standing around or going into the break room without returning for a while. The place suddenly got very busy, and there were only two workers handling everyone. Once it was finally our turn, the guy who helped us was nice, but he took a long time assisting other people, which slowed everything down even more. Overall, I'd recommend coming really early in the morning or going to a different location if you have the option. My dad didn't enjoy his experience, the workers weren't very kind, and the service was extremely slow. The ticket for renewing your car license was about $238! read more

Awesome service and efficient process here! I was tired of going to the Bel-Red Auto License in the crossroads mall as it's always a slow process and they are extremely rude for no reason and reading reviews they are closed a lot during open business hours so I wasn't wasting my time or gas with that hassle. Eastside Auto Licensing is easy to get to off the freeway with a free large parking lot offering even a drive thru pick up window if you renewed tabs online! Upon entering a large sign directs you to the two computers for check in process putting you in line or checking into your appointment. You enter name, phone number, and the reason for your visit. I got there an hour after opening on a Monday and it was empty. I waited 2 minutes in the comfy seating admiring the clean and well organized lobby. My name and phone number was called out on a speaker directing me to a desk with available employee. Elijah helped me and was quick, kind, helpful, clear, and well spoken. I appreciated getting my tabs in less than 5 minutes and receiving tips on tab application process. :) I highly recommend Eastside Auto Licensing and would most definitely return here! read more

Like others, I can't believe I can say I had a pleasant experience transferring my title at an auto licensing office. But, Eastside Auto Licensing was just that. First thing on a Thursday morning there was no line (unlike Bel-Red, which is utter chaos sometimes, even 30 minutes prior to open), staff were on time and extremely friendly, and very helpful. They use an appointment system for title-related stuff, which is slightly confusing. I received a text at 8 am (prior to them even being open) that said my wait time was 82 minutes (making them 22 minutes "late", before they were even open). This turned out to be completely inaccurate, and the staff admitted the wait time wasn't truly reflective of reality. When I was in the office, I saw the 8:30 am appointment on the board listed as *6 hours* of wait time (they open at 8:30 am...). Clearly, you just need to ignore it and show up at your scheduled time. read more

Had to renew my tabs. Not a pleasant thing, particularly given how much it costs here in WA. Luckily this may be the best Licensing place I've visited yet. I paid online to pick up in person while making my rounds working. When you walk in, there is a kiosk to help manage the crowd which is kind of cool. You put your info in, and they text you updates in case there is no room to wait inside. If there is room, there is an oversized TV monitor showing you the status of everything which is pretty cool. Because I came on a weekday afternoon and paid ahead of time, I have to believe that helped speed up this visit, so if you can do the same, I'd recommend. Less than 10 minutes I walk up to the counter to really friendly attendant. Coming from the East Coast it still catches me off guard where I'm always prepared for the DMV worker snap and choke me from across the counter. Not here though. Service was fast and friendly, or as fast and friendly as you could hope for at the very least. read more

Beware, if you are registering an Antique / Classic vehicle. Twice they did not give me a Registration document. A couple of months later when I began driving the vehicle I notice I didn't have one. (I'm very good at keeping them either in the vehicle or on file if I'm working on the vehicle.) The last time the fee was $19.25 for a replacement. Twice doesn't seem like a coincidence.The agents at the service counter were good, although they did nothing to provide me a Registration I paid for earlier. read more

This is the worst licensing experience in the state. Most everything here is by appointment only and the Staff is quite unfriendly in general. There were 5 people working there and 1 customer in there with literally 4 of the counter staff seeming to just be chatting about their day. read more

the Bell-Red DMV was closed on a Friday due to staffing issues... came here and their setup was very efficient. Put your name and reason for being there in a computer , then it tells you your wait time and on a tv you can see where your name is on the list. Came to renew tabs, it said 6 minute wait and we sat down for less than a minute and got called, did the transaction and were out all within less than 5 minutes. The FASTEST DMV I have EVER experienced. So much to make me write a review! Greattt job !!! read more

I went to two different sites today (Crossroad and this one), spending hours driving around, after calling first to confirm they were open, only to arrive at locked doors. Slowest service I've ever experienced. They have an automated queue with completely inaccurate time estimates. Was initially told 54 minutes and an hour later it was still showing 29 minutes. Only come here if you have nothing else to do with your day. The people working here are nice, but I'm not here to hang out with them. read more

They might have decent hours, but very uninformed folks running this place. If you need anything outside of tabs, double check that you get the right information. You wait in line for an hour, get the wrong information, we try to do as they say, just to find out, that they didn't give us the paperwork needed to even accomplish the inspection. Now we have to go back, get back in line, wait for who knows how long to get the proper documents to get the car inspected to finally get it registered. Sigh! They clearly don't appreciate your time, as this is a common request it seems and they should have known what documents we would need. read more

You would think with covid changing the world for reducing lines for social distancing that this place would make appointments for a more efficient process/ flow like the rest of auto-licensing. I appreciate a walk - in service, however, people do not want to wait over an hour for something supposed to be quick serviced. Most people are on a lunch break or has other appts. Debbie Murdoch, the manager, sprinted on out to the parking lot with her clipboard and pen and allowed me to complete the transaction from my car. She even admired my auto purchase. I completed a change of address through License Express and then ordered my tab renewal using this office to send them. Two weeks later, no tabs. I called the office, and spoke with a very aggressive person. Her: Plate Number. Me: XXXXXX Her: Your address Me: 85... Her (cutting me off midsentence) No the address on file is XXXXXXX When I informed her of the change of address that was completed and read the time stamps of my change of address, 10 minutes before the tab renewal, she started yelling at me, said I wasn't getting what I wanted and was being combative. I told her I was trying to find out how to resolve this (not even having slightly raised my voice) she said she's not the state, they just issue tabs, call the License Express People, and hung up on me. Illegally disclosing addresses, hanging up on customers, ignoring change of addresses... Go to Bel Red instead, they understand both the concept of privacy laws and customer service. First off, this place opens on the weekend. During the time I needed an auto licensing office, the other offices near my area didn't so that's a huge plus to start off. The reason I came into this office was to get WA plates after moving here from CA. I wasn't finished paying off my car and this made things difficult because no one had a physical copy of my title. CA happens to be a electronic title state so until I had finished paying off my car, no one was willing to print this out for me. Within a span of 2 weeks I probably called Toyota over fifty times and it's important for me to express how annoying this process was because the lady's from Eastside likewise was pretty much with me the whole process. They too got calls from Toyota about my title and the CA DMV about my title and these experts were able to get an acceptable copy of my title in the end. I don't think it would have happened without them because Toyota kept trying to pawn off a really janky "screen shot" of the title which was illegible once they printed out the screenshot and faxed it. If they're able to take a screen shot, it's beyond me why they can't just print the actual thing. I called Eastside daily to check if Toyota sent them the title and that conversation would always be quick. You just give them your name and they'll check their files for your documents. The day they said they got it, I went first thing the next Saturday. I went about 30min early and was the first in line for plates and was able to finish the process in about 10 minutes. I would 100% come back here again for my licensing needs. read more

Do not trust the estimated wait times. We were told 15 minutes when we registered at the entrance. Over the next 18 minutes, the monitor in the waiting area moved us from 15 to 18, then to 12, then 9, then 7, and then back up to 12 and then to 15. So, all I know at this point is that estimated 15 is at least 35. read more

This place is great & super helpful. I'm not sure how they deal with some of the customers in here- but they do it with a smile. Clean & totally streamlined service. I don't have expectations about vehicle licencing besides walking out with the correct title. Most everything else besides re-titling we can do online. However, in this store while all the customers were masked one employee (the employee I dealt with) wore no mask. Another two wore masks under their chins. Enter at your own risk. It's my local licensing office in a small strip mall. Had to register my used car from Nashville and the wait was quite long. But then I did choose to come during lunch hour and apparently everyone else did too. There are two different lines inside, one for title changes, questions and one for renewal tabs, etc. There was no signage outside and due to the social distancing, it was difficult to tell when we were outside waiting. Once at the window though, things went smoothly. Just a fyi that they accept exact change cash, check, debit card (adds 2.5%) and credit card (adds 3%) for payment. What a nightmare! 3:40 pm and they have 2 employees working. Lines so long that people are having to stand outside. Just want to pick up tabs that we're paid for online. Been waiting for 30 minutes already and the line has only moved up by 1 person. It would probably be faster just to have them mailed. This place sucks. Finally got my tabs. The whole visit took an hour and 15 seconds. One hour of standing in line and then 15 seconds to get my tabs once I got to the window. If you're going to offer to allow people to pay online and pickup than have a dedicated line for people who are only picking up. It's not rocket science. read more

Renewed my tabs online and picked them to send it out to me. 2 weeks go by and no tabs. So I give them a call and am told I need to come in to have them reprinted. I come in and wait about 40 minutes only for them to tell me I need to come back in 2 days to get them reprinted or pay a $30 fee ( 2 cars) to have them reprinted then. This could not have been told to me before I came out and waited? No apologies or anything. Seemed to be business as usual to them. Poor customer service. read more

Arrived at 10:11 am on Saturday 06/15 and expected to wait as had no appointment. I never expected to wait over 3 hours though. I also never expected the person doing registrations only to take someone with the exact same transaction I needed to complete out of order and started helping them until I politely explained I had been waiting 2.5 hours at that point for help. On this day and maybe all days there is one person assigned to registrations and the others assigned to title related issues. The registration only person then put the person back in line. What I did not realize was he put them in the appointment queue so they were called within minutes while I was still left waiting another half hour. I left here after they closed at 1pm. Left the office at 1:13pm. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION if you want to be helped in a timely and in orderly fashion. Also probably best to make an appointment but hard for me to make an appointment as my schedule is always changing and still does not give this place the right to take customers out of order. read more

COVID era review. The staff here are eternally patient and kind and I am thankful to their gentle efforts to help with problems. Social distancing notes, they are doing their best but the space is not conducive to longlines waiting 6ft apart. Plexiglass installed. Separate jar for used pens but it is easy to confuse. Not a lot of ventilation. read more

Do not recommend this agency. Did not feel comfortable in the office - close quarters and two of the four employees removed their masks or were wearing them around their chins. The employee at the third desk totally lost her patience with my elderly relatives so we ended up taking our business to another agency, where the service was outstanding. read more
