Outstanding. Just walked in on a Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Plenty of parking. No line I was literally called to a window by one of the three staff as soon as I walked in. Alicia was professional and no nonsense. It took her less than three minutes to process my tags and I left with them in hand out the door in five minutes. Incredible. At the rate they processed customers even if there were a line it wouldn't have taken very long. Just saying this is the kind of experience you want to have all day every day. Usually I have my car tabs & registration renewal mailed to me. However, I realized I was not within the five business day mailing timeframe. And with my luck I'd get pulled and dinged for expired tabs! Nope, not happening! Fortunately, my renewal can be taken care of, including payment, online via WA State Dept of Licensing (8/14/24). I selected my pickup location at Wendel's Licensing in Shoreline the next day (8/15/24). Convenient to my home. Business hours are Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm. Shared parking lot with other businesses, including the Dept of Licensing and Marshall's. From the entrance, just head straight to the online tabs pickup counter. Provide ID, like one's drivers license, and you're handed the 2025 tabs and registration. Easy peasy. Convenience at its best! read more

I got my tabs a day early, so they were only good for one day and I had to pay again, in full, two days later. NO WARNING! Of course I filled out a form they gave me and sent it in. Yes, during the pandemic. I was prepared for a long delay. I'm going to get tabs again today. They still haven't refunded me. They say lots of people are having this problem. They told me refunds Are going out, but slowly. Its going on THREE years...where's my money?? The manager told me last year that I got them online, where there's No Warning, and that if I had come into the office in person, someone would've warned me not to get them until at least the due date. Simple, efficient, quick and friendly! Wendel's has been around for thirty or more years, apparently, and you can see why. Set at the back of the Right Aid (Walgreen's?), there was no line, and we were assisted without question or confusion right away. Each of the four desk stations was manned, meaning no lines! Everyone working looked to have been there since the service opened, but at least long enough to know their jobs without fuss. I don't believe in bad reviews, if anything they're constructive and hopefully lead to improvements that make things better for every customer after me! I have been to this place 3 times in the past 2 weeks. I will say there was a line each time but it moves fairly quickly, so that was nice. The staff is nice enough, but not very helpful or competent. I recently moved from out of state and wanted to get WA plates / get my car registered and all. In regards to the title of the car I was told by 3 separate people different things that I needed. Each time I was told that if I brought what they told me to bring in that that was all I needed. I even made sure to ask each time exactly what I needed. One person said all I needed was the Bill of Sale, another said I needed something on the title signed, and the last said I needed this whole other document they provided signed. If I had been told this on the first visit I wouldn't have had to take work off and drive here two extra times. Now I'm worried that I'll do what the last one told me and I'll find out I didn't need it or I'll need something else. I truly hope others have better experiences, as there are generally great reviews on here for this place! This was probably just a "me" case, but felt the need to share so it doesn't happen to others! read more

It genuinely makes me happy to visit Wendel's. Besides our annual car tabs we go there for notary services now and then. But regardless of the purpose, the staff are friendly and fun to talk to. I dislike making reviews like this, but maybe this is the only way to make sure it never happens again to anyone else. Pros: Local, convenient, received mailed out tabs very quickly. Con: The tabs were STAPLED directly to the registration! I just opened my envelopes and was sorta perplexed at what I saw... I have used over 10 different License services, and never in my life have I ever seen another License service staple the tabs directly to the registrations. I order 2 sets of tabs and both were stapled to the registrations, and one of my tabs now has a rip in it because of a staple. Poking holes in car tabs in itself is never a good idea, let alone putting staples in them! Sadly, this is my 1st impression of Wendel's, and if this is standard procedure. I will go with every other Licensing place that uses clear tape and only clear tape. I assume good and nice people work there, and maybe this was a one time fluke/error, but I cannot and will not risk damage to my tabs and documents again in the future. read more

Came in for an out of state title transfer to find out I didn't have the correct paperwork which the clerk supplied right away. Once I came back with it all squared away I was in and out of there within three minutes with my new registration and plates! My new title should be in the mail within a month. If you have to get your tabs or other service in person, this is the best place to go. They're efficient and polite, the line is short even at the end of the day, there's lots of parking, and they even had an anti-fatigue mat out for customers to stand on at the counter, which is very nice and I've never seen before (usually they're for employees). read more

Washingtonians don't know how great it is to deal with government employees and agencies. This is a private company contracted with them. First, it is IN the Rite Aid. Yes, in it. Back left corner. Ironically, they are next to the liquor. There were four people in front of me, but also 4 people working. I just waited a minute to be served by someone efficient, fast and friendly. Looking at the piles of forms and reference material, I commented on what they have to know. She told me that after working for a full year, one sits for a four-hour exam to be certified. And there's ongoing training required. I was out of there in a few minutes even asking a question about a title transfer. If I had to do it online, it would have taken me a lot longer. The internet either gives you far too much information you don't need, or if you try to do something in particular, it may not remind you of something to consider. That's where a helpful, knowlegeable person is worth their weight in DOL forrms. read more

He goes online, bends over, grabs his ankles and takes the fees like a champ. Thinking round two was rapidly approaching he braced himself for the lengthy amount of time it would be for it to come. to him via the mail. being a mere wage slave, he would be severely punished for leaving work, so this long hard process of waiting for it to come was his only option. or so he thought. then there was an option for in store pick up (or something to that effect whatever eff you it's my story). WENDELS right down Aurora? Inside a Rite Aid?.. "A licensing place open on Saturday?! AWESOME!!!!!" he said out loud. And he immediately ran down to the place at 11am in the morning. The sandwich board sign was set up out front pointing toward the back of the store. Oh boy, he could hardly wait! He eagerly approached the counter at the back and thought..."odd that no one is here....it sure is lit up like it's open...and it says Saturdays.... wait WTF IS A SELECT SATURDAY? The people at Wendel's are very helpful and efficient so even though it's usually busy they get through the line pretty quickly. When I got my tabs through the mail last year and this year Wendel's got them to me in 2 days which is impressive since I got them on Christmas Eve. I had a fairly unique situation where I had to get my vehicle registered in WA while also getting a new title as my previous title did not have my bank listed as lien holder (not sure how that happened). It had been over a decade since I owned a car so this was all new to me, but the staff was surprisingly kind and very knowledgeable - able to answer all of my questions with great detail. They were also incredibly helpful when I had to call back regarding questions I'd received from my bank, and their expertise helped me resolved the issue promptly. Waiting in lines for boring things like license tag renewal is never fun. I've had the least strife waiting in the short lines here at Wendel's. Located inside the Rite Aid in a strip mall, this family-run agency is easy to navigate. Park in one of the ample spots in the lot and head to the back of the drugstore. It's that simple. I've been here several times and there's always been at least two employees at the three stations to assist customers. I had friendly and prompt service with the longest line being 3-4 people. I'm almost reticent to extol their virtues lest my quiet place gets overrun! By the way, they do NOT accept credit cards. It's strictly cash or check. ATM next to their counters if you've forgotten your checkbook or need more cash. I hate paying fees so just go to the registers at the front and get cash over a small purchase to avoid them. read more

I sold one car and transferred lease to me for another car, both done here. And the staff is helpful and friendly. Also very accessible. They know their stuff. And helped me make phone calls when needed. Especially for the car lease transfer, it took a long long time and many many calls to the car company. And the owner Ben helped a lot and was very patient. Hours are good too, there is always parking. The only thing is there are always sketchy people in the neighborhood. read more

I registered a new car and asked for commercial plates, verified after receiving them with the gal issuing them that they were only to find out a day later they were NOT so they made me pay for a new license plate & they double charged me $5 sub-agent fee when it was their mistake. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Save your $5 sub-agent fee, which is Wendel's profit, and go downtown to the King County courthouse location or specify that one when ordering online. read more

Went here for my dusabled parking permit. It's been a struggle hobbling around with an ACL, MCL, Meniscus & fractured tibia. The ER, doctors and then an hour waiting at the DOL office before I found out that the DOL has outsourced this to private contractors . You would think that info would be on their website. I went to Bill Pierce & the person behind the counter would not accept the form because a spelling mistake had been crossed off & rewritten. Even though I offered to initial it. Probably because disabled parking permit is a free service & they can't make any money off of it . I have never seen this rule anywhere. Not even on legal documents! I finally got it done here. This place is a little hole in the wall, and I've only had the bad experience of a long line once or twice. This is bound to happen since to move forward we need to get lots of these things handled and the rules and regulations don't make it easy on us. Wendel's staff deserve a 20/10 rating! They are simply incredible. Sadly my husband recently passed away and I am trying to figure out titles, rego etc for his 3 bikes a 2 cars. The staff were so empathetic and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure I had all the correct paperwork and even organized it all for me. They were extremely patient and kind. Hey I get it Ben. The state of Washington definitely has some issues with what it does and doesn't allow. My grandmother has had two school zone speed camera tickets sent in the mail and she's paid them incurring no foul. How you can give someone without a valid license a ticket for speeding in a school zone is beyond me. I guess it's just all about collecting that money when it comes right down to it. It definitely doesn't seem right to me. But next time I need tabs on my vehicle. I'm going to test the logic in your response.
