Went in to inquire about mechanical service and was saying what it had been doing and what I had Repaired.. BILL the owner said "that I was sleeping with to many of my mechanics.. Well overdue review. Found a recipe from 2016 when we first moved to Raleigh. I took my BMW there for evaluation and performance software. Was charged 1,090.84. Nothing was visible wrong with my car. Nothing was done! Recipe says labor and parts ‍ the only part replacement was the windshield wipers, but blow off during our trip to upstate NY visiting my in laws. In 2018 I took my car to the BMW dealership on Capitol Blvd paid 54.96 I also showed the mechanic the 7 page Autologic Diagnostic and he mentioned bluntly I paid for nothing but windshield wipers. I have been going here for 10 years and I just have to say that they always put the customer's safety and interests over what they make. They taken care of my cars so well that I've only had to get one major repair and that's between 4 cars cars over 120k miles in them. I only buy used cars that they approved after a pre-purchase inspection which is why I know the cars aren't problems going into the purchase. The staff are always respectful and down to earth. If you choose to wait in the waiting area you may even find them entertaining to talk to. I highly recommend them to everyone. read more

Do NOT bring your car here, I'm begging you. They charge $135 an HOUR for labor, which is absolutely ridiculous. I would give them negative stars if I could. They are unfriendly and will rip you off at every turn. They tried to charge me $300 for a part that was $100. Then charged me $600 to bolt in a seat track, which should've taken less than an hour to do. These people will take advantage of you, I'm telling you to please go somewhere else. A franchise dealership is cheaper than this place (I am not kidding). Their prices are so high it's laughable. Do yourself a favor, never come to this joke of a "mechanic" shop. read more

This Shell service station seems pretty above-par, so I feel comfy rating them a 4 star. Their prices are reasonable (mid-range, not low on the Raleigh meter) but I do have a friend who used them for tune-up servicing and found them reasonably priced, with none of the "you're a female so I'll try to dicker with you" nonsense of other service stations. Not sure if they provide inspection services but if not, they should look into it! My car is due for inspection this month! ;) read more

We have been taking our cars to Eastgate Shell for a long time now and they are simply the best. I always feel like the mechanics and the staff treat us as valued customers and always do their best to make sure our cars (and wallets!) are happy. They have have never tried overselling us on services that weren't needed. On the contrary, they work very hard to find ways to save us money on repairs and maintenance work. You always feel like their goal is to make sure you are happy with their service so that you'll keep coming back. And we do gladly. Finding a good, honest mechanic is hard these days and we celebrate the day we found this group of guys at Eastgate Shell. John and Billy (and all the other guys that work here) are friendly and professional. Their work is complete and thorough but if there happens to be a problem after the work is completed, they will fix it. Since these guys own the business themselves, they never try and up sale you on stuff you don't need (like the bigger places do). I have been bringing my cars to Eastgate Shell for service for years and have never had a bad experience. When my first car was having problems and I took it here for a diagnosis, I was told that, although they knew what the problem was and could fix it, that I might want to take it to the deaalership since it was something that would still be under warranty and therefore the dealership would fix for free. How many other service techs would be that honest? Finding someone you trust to take care of your car isn't easy, but once you find someone you do trust, you want to spread the word. As long as these guys are around, Ill never take my car anywhere else again. read more

Just moved here about six months ago and took over the maintenance of my girlfriends car. Unfortunately at times the myths are true that a young lady at times gets taken by the "local" garage. These guys are crooks. She had paid them over 1000 to fix a problem with the radiator and cooling system. Over a nine month period a low coolant light has never gone off and every time I return the car to have it checked another mysterious problem shows up and it's another 200-500 to have the light go off. The most recent repair was an under warranty water pump that of course cost almost 300 in labor costs. Surprise! The light was on in a week! Just took it back and this time it's a hose kit with the estimate of over $700! If I could give these guys negative stars I certainly would. I understand the car is an older model but after taking it to the dealer we found that a lot of the repairs were unnecessary and over priced. Please avoid like the plague. read more

I WISH I could give this place less than one star. They are the most dishonest group you will come across, stay away from Mike. I just moved here from Georgia and my car was having problems, I took it to them and without even checking they said I needed to get a new alternator which would be $400. My dad is a mechanic but 5 hours away so I called him and he said something didn't add up. Turns out my brake light stop pad was the problem NOT my alternator, which was a $10 fix. This dishonest, lazy group tried to take advantage of a 22-year-old woman who they THOUGHT didn't know any better. I ended up taking it to someone else, alternator, battery, everything was fine, and they fixed up my brake light for a measly $10. Save your time, money, and sanity. read more

I seem to have had a different experience than the others who posted here. I took my car in for a timing belt and front oil seals back in May. I was quoted 1 price, but then after they started working on it, they came back with a different price, much higher than the original, then that increased again upon picking the car up and the mechanic spoke to me quite rudely. Okay, there was an additional part required, but nowhere near the amount of the increase. I was in a bind so I let them do the work. 5 months, and 4ooo miles later(2 months out of warranty on the labor), the car is leaking oil again. Since 95% of a timing belt and seal job is labor, it would seem that they did not do such a good job. I said at the time, after finding out about the unexpected increase that I should have done the job myself and shall this time. That way I will know it is being done correctly read more
