The mall is a baron place with barely any stores - but the food court is still thriving and the only reason besides nu image to come to this mall at this point - which is sad because I remember nights at the mall being a ritual in my teens. The food court has a pizza place that has a delicious cheese roll that whenever I am in the area I must have! The Japanese place from what I hear is also a delicious gem! If you dive further into the mall you also have Auntie Annes the OG and Olivers Desserts hanging on - Olivers desserts are delicious and family owned and defiintley worth checking out if in the area. The mall is just outdated and dark and bleak - I went to the bathroom which weren't very clean which is pretty said since this is technically a dead mall. read more

It's hanging on! There's not much here but it's not completely empty. There's still a food court, although I wouldn't eat at any of them - except for Gyro Express because I know of their food from their previous Montgomery location. They still have their main stores of JCPenney and Dillards. But many stores have closed up. There's more inside than it looked from the vacant parking lot and peeling paint facade. I was surprised to see stores inside operating because the mall looks vacant from the unkempt outside. It's also depressing inside. It's dark and so very few shoppers. Hopefully it will get some new tenants and hang on. read more

I know that everyone doesn't love this mall anymore but I actually enjoy the peace and quiet of it. The mall still has really good clothing stores that sell merchandise at reasonable prices. I've had more success shopping at Eastgate for an hour than I've had the last three months at Kenwood, I actually bought something!! I had no problem shopping for cute summer clothes and formal outfits for a wedding. Spirit of Halloween just opened and their costumes are amazing! read more

I enjoy Eastgate mall. It's small and reminiscent of my childhood. We often visited this mall because it's the closest form of "entertainment" for us Highland/Brown/Clermont County folks. Even after moving to the city, I still appreciate Eastgate Mall. Over the years, stores have come and gone. Currently, almost one whole wing of the mall is vacant. I feel like Christmas time is what really keeps this mall alive. It's often scarce but always clean and easy flowing. Kohls, JCPenney, Charlotte Russe, Foot Locker are some of the popular stores here. There is no longer a Hollister, Pac Sun or Aeropostale but young adults can still find a decent selection at Rue 21, Victoria's Secret and Charlotte Russe. I particularly appreciate Crazy 8 for kids, they always have excellent deals. Parking is ample and it's located right off the 275/32 highways. It's a calm, quiet mall that might just fit your taste compared to other busy, large malls. Prices are quite nice, especially if you're a clearance shopper. They have a nice kids play area with soft toys to climb on if your littles need a break. read more

I will say that at this mall the preppies and the punks are pretty much on equal footing as far as retail space. American Eagle, Hollister, and New York & Company specialize in main-stream fashions, while Cosmic, Hot Topic (Eastgate has a particularly large store), and Journeys market their goods to a more rebellious clientele. With over 90+ stores, this mall covers most shopping needs. The food court-yard was renovated a few years ago, making it more kid-friendly with the addition of a brightly lit merry-go-round. Food vendors include Chick Fil-A, Gold Star, Great Steak & Potato Co., and Pizza Di Roma. Outside of the food court, Auntie Anne's and The Cookie Store let you get your snack fix without venturing to often crowded central eatery. One strange thing I noticed about Eastgate Mall is that there are an inordinate number of vendors selling ninja swords and Bowie knives. Nu Image sells them, as does another kiosk located in one of the mall's corridors. I guess somebody has to bring them onto the market, but it's disconcerting nonetheless. read more

I do enjoy going to Eastgate mall. It reminds me of how malls used to be..it still feels like a mall out of the 90s..but therein lie some of its issues. It's just very outdated. Don't get me wrong, they are trying to revitalize it and add some new life to it..and it's very admirable and I really hope they succeed in bringing it back from the dead. It just still has a ways to go. For one the restrooms in the mall are all very outdated and downright creepy to go to at times. There are still long corridors of empty storefronts, though like I said they're trying to fill them up..but sometimes it's with very odd stores that you wonder how they even exist. This mall, sadly, like most indoor malls, has gone downhill, although is currently maintaining all its anchor stores, which is miraculous. Those stores include JC Penney, Kohls, Sears, and Dillards Outlet. The inside of the mall is clean and bright, but there are a lot of empty small storefronts. There is the standard food court and a nice play area for kids. There is no sit down dining options anymore now that Buffalo Wild Wings has moved out. Parking is ample and easy to maneuver. Other than the achor stores, I really only venture inside to go to Bath and Body Works, VS, and the Cincy Bell store... all of which seem to have been recently remodeled. read more

This is a fact, not an opinion: Eastgate Mall is where teenagers hang out and watch pennies go down those coin eating funnel machines, and Kenwood Towne Center is where they shop. Eastgate mall is your typical hometown mall. Teenagers are there A LOT just to chill, and there are no high end stores (Dillard's doesn't count, that's a department store.) If you're from out of town and you want to experience the best Cincinnati has to offer, go to Kenwood. Because the most extravagant store you'll find here is Willie's Sports, and it's not extravagant because it's expensive; it's simply original. Eastgate really mostly offers teen stores anyway: Aeropostale, American Eagle, Hollister, Deb, Claire's etc. Obviously you have the Lane Bryant and the jewelry stores, but do you know how much business they get? About as much as the sno-cone window in the parking lot gets in the winter. Eastgate has close proximity to 32 and I-275, so it's extremely accessible, but once again, it's not worth visiting if you're wanting to shop. An eclectic band of teenagers is probably not an out of towner's cup of tea if she wants to buy a Coach purse, now is it? I would recommend this place to somebody who dislikes the crowds of malls. There's never any rush, even during Christmastime, but it's not a dead mall (Cincinnati Mills, anyone?) I think the most I've spent here was $75, and that was because it was Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works' semi-annual sale, so if you're shopping on a budget, there's only about two stores that would tempt you to break the bank. I digress...I repeat, if you are from out of town, visit Kenwood. Kenwood makes me a proud Cincinnatian. read more

Grew up going to this mall. It's small but definitely has some good stores. A great hot topic n some awesome comic book stores n some good food in the court. Not a very busy mall. Not much going on here. I wasn't very impressed with the food choices in the food court or the store variety. Every where I looked there were teenagers hanging out. I feel bad for the stores because these teens aren't spending money ... they're just hanging out and making out. And the nail place in there, LA Nails is NO GOOD. Don't waste your money. I know better than to go to a mall nail salon but I was in a rush. Their prices are fair but they definitely rush you out so they can get to the next person. The guys who work there don't know how to paint nails much less clean up their mess and if you get your brows waxed there, they don't wipe the wax off of your face. Let's get it out of the way. Yes I grew up on the far east side of Cincy. Yes Eastgate Mall was my regular hang-out. No I didn't drive my tractor to school/the mall. No I don't even own a tractor. Eastgate Mall was always the red-headed step child of it's meaner older siblings in the area. Always picked on for being podunk and lesser than. I always enjoyed going there! Sure I didn't know any better when I was a kid but it does have its merits. Four department stores located at each corner of the mall isn't shabby by any means, and a built-in music store is always fun to visit. The food court has seen vast improvement, even though the merri-go-round is kind of a joke. Eastgate Mall also benefits from having a good surrounding area that has lots of shopping and restaurants. I live on the close-to-west side now, and don't go as often, but I'm not ashamed of my roots, especially given the state of Northgate. read more

Located off the Batavia exit on I-275, Eastgate Mall is nothing more than what it appears to be. A nice, quaint mall, for those who live in the area. Somewhat smaller than most of the other malls and shopping centers in the Cincinnati area, this is not the kind of place that people are going to make a special trip to when needing to do some shopping. This is where you go when you go when you need something, and you know that it can be found quickly and easily. With four main department stores (Dillard's, Sears, JC Penny's, and Kohl's) located on each end (with the exception of the main entrance to the mall) you can make your way inward to find the usual array of mall hotspots such as; Clarie's, Sunglass Hut, American Eagle, Hot Topic, DEB, Lane Bryant, Victoria's Secret, Spencer Gifts, Things Remembered, FYE, Orange Julius, Footlocker, Payless, and all types of wireless and cell phone booths. These of course aren't the only stores, but you get the picture. This mall pretty much has the basics you find at every other mall in America, but not all that much extra. The food court is typical of any other food court in any other mall in America, some of it good, some of it...not so much. There is a very small play area for kids. So small that I would not advise going if you have smaller kids (i.e. toddlers) as the bigger kids usually run around with little concern as to their surroundings, which has resulted in more than one tyke getting knocked down. What I enjoy most about this mall is that it is never really all that crowded. Even during high traffic days (Saturdays and Sundays) and high traffic seasons (specifically Christmas) you never feel as if you're going to be crushed by the onslaught of humanity in the mall. All-in-all, a nice place to go for some quick shopping. Don't expect anything more than that, and you won't be disappointed. Mahalo, and enjoy. read more

I'll admit that I'm not that big of a fan going to the mall...I avoid it at all costs. Eastgate Mall is in my opinion, one of the smaller malls in greater Cincinnati. It's a mall that you go to if you need something, it isn't geared as a "tourist attraction." It's anchored by four retailers: Sears, Kohls, JCPenney, and Dillards. Three of the four anchors have reasonable prices, Dillards is in the same league as Macy's as being catered to the upscale crowd, and in my opinion would get more business in nearby Anderson Township. It seems to be a hangout spot for the teenage crowd, which I'm not a big fan of. (Hence Hollister, American Eagle, and Pac Sun having stores there) If I end up going, I go in, get what I need, and get out. There's no walking around the mall looking at all of the stores. I'm not a woman. But if you're looking for a bigger selection, try Kenwood Towne Center, Florence Mall, or Tri-County Mall...chances are they'll have what you're looking for. read more

I do not like this mall. Fellow shoppers are inconsiderate and rude. The kiosks are overpriced garbage (for example the cellphone cases and jewelery counters). The shops never seem to have much to offer and are mostly ran by teens that have no desire to work. The mall feels pretty outdated and the parking lot is a disaster because people don't understand it's layout or are trying to avoid broken pavement/potholes. Every time I have gone it feels like walking into a high school as oppsed to a shopping mall. Im not really comfortable using the restrooms because they are so tucked away down empty corridors and I've ran into some creepers more times than anyone should. I never see mall security inside the mall, only outside driving their little cars. read more

I've gone to Kenwood Towne Center for years, and while I do like it, it doesn't stack up well next to some of the other malls I've seen in other cities. I will say, however, that Kenwood Towne Center definitely trumps Eastgate, which I recently and briefly visited. Eastgate has Dillard's, JCPenney, Kohl's, Sears, and Steve & Barry's, as well some other big name stores such as American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Finish Line, and Sunglass Hat, but that is about it. There are not many high-end stores, which for some may be okay, but the quality of stores is a big factor in determining the level of a mall. Unless you live nearby, you probably wouldn't come all the way out to Eastgate at State Route 32 off of Interstate 275 just to come to this average mall. It is neat how they have a Kohl's and the mall is near a lot of restaurants too, but the shopping center has only about 90 stores and eateries, according to its website, about half of what Kenwood has. At the very best, I'll call Eastgate mall "okay," and while there are some decent stores, it really doesn't offer a lot of exciting options. read more

I mainly visit this mall to shop at Kohl's and because of its proximity to other shopping outside the mall, Pier One, etc. As other reviewers have mentioned, there's nothing really special here and I think it's confusing to get to the mall's parking from the interstate. Anyway, I like the B. Moss store here. I went in Steve & Barry's and Famous Labels because those stores were new to me. Didn't buy anything at either, though. Cinnabon, just outside the food court, was doing lots of business when I was there. The food court itself was just average. Oh, yeah. They have one of those teeth bleaching kiosks here; I'm skeptical about having my teeth whitened at the mall, though. The business was reviewed on one of the local news programs lately. read more

This mall is going down hill fast. Every time I go there are fewer stores and more empty spaces. The food court boasts a pretty sad selection of 4 options. The latest frustration is their nursing room. Did you know they had one? Me either. But I was elated that they did because I like to spend time shopping with my little one and a nursing room makes that all the more convenient. What ruins that convenience is learning you must call security (which feeds through their walkie-talkie and is barely audible) in order to have them let you into the room. Then you have to just wait and wait for one of them to get around to letting you in. If you are like me, you will give up eventually because your increasingly upset baby doesn't understand these ridiculous rules any more than you do. I would just breastfeed elsewhere in the mall, but if security can't make it to open the nursing room I don't have much faith in their ability to protect me from self appointed modesty monitors or creepers hoping to catch a peek. An amenity requires that it be accessible. In this increasingly ghost town mall, this is one more reason I'm not going to stick around and hope for anything better. And for the record, Kenwood mall has several nursing rooms (unlocked but locking for privacy) that have soothing music, comfy chairs, private changing stations and sinks/dryers. read more

Came to this mall for the Dillard's clearance store with my mother. Although we were kind of disappointed with the quality of clothes at this discount store, the rest of the mall was just enough of what we needed. Although small, this mall still contains a good selection of stores. There is also a small food court, batting cages, and glow mini-golf! This mall seemed to be kept clean, and there was ample amount of parking. I was pleased with this mall, despite its small one story size. read more

I wish they would just make this mall into an outlet center. The parking lot is run down, a lot of the stores are overly priced considering other malls pricing....that's if a store hasn't gone out of business yet. The little kids play area with outdated rides and games is a tiny room and some of the games took the money without working. Two of the rides had exposed power pcables running across the floor. The wall was half painted and overall, it just looked like a raggedy, half-done lawsuit waiting to happen. I am not sure if someone rents the space or if the mall put it there but it didn't feel clean or safe. The mall itself is always clean but just...feels empty. Over the years it has dwindled down from always being busy to a 75% empty parking lot but the mall is still hanging on somehow. I just can't help but to feel that an outlet mall would make more sense and would be more suitable for the busy area and the location. read more

The Eastgate mall has been one of the closest malls to my house for many years. Eastsiders tend to come here or to the Kenwood Towne Centre for all of their mall needs. Eastgate Mall is nowhere near as classy and high end as the Kenwood Mall is. There aren't as many stores either. Eastgate only has one level and each corridor branches off from a central atrium. This center is a huge expansive area with some seating, decorations, and some kids play things. Often when the Easter Bunny or Santa Clause visits, you can find them here! The mall has all of the usual mall stores, but not as many as the others. The food court is located at one end of the corridor and really doesn't have that many options. The mall did undergo some renovations a few years back, and I can say that the mall is better than it was. They did a lot of work on the food court and the center atrium. It still doesn't attract me enough to make me want to go often. read more

Where to start... They get good stores in, but can't keep them in business. There is no one shopping this "mall". I'm not sure if the demographics don't fit the clothing stores, or if no one even remembers they're there. We have other malls not to far that are so much better with multiple stores and restaurants. It makes more sense that you would make the trip to those places so you could hit them all in one place since this mall has very few. I don't think they are evolving with the times. Tear it down and start from scratch. Build a outside type mall with good restaurants. There are a few department stores (JC Penney, Dillard's, etc.), and there's an H&M and a Sephora, but not much else that interests me. The H&M was much nicer than the one in Kenwood, probably because they have so few customers. There's an FYE, Claire's, Aeropostale, Piercing Pagoda...makes me wonder if this mall is just a whole in space-time that lets you travel back to 2004. read more

This place is like one of those malls that I used to love when I was small...and then I grew up and realized where it was and the people who go there, and I started to hate it. We were leaving the mall today I was approached by security asking me if my dog who was in a stroller was a therapy dog. I am not going to lie she's not she happened to be with us I didn't want to leave her in the car. He told me dogs weren't allowed in the mall I have seen them in there before, I have had her in there before. No one had a problem in the one store we went to we didn't go near the food court and she's well behaved. Next time I will shop at Kenwood Mall they have pet stores there so I know I can bring her in. I appreciate the guy not making a scene about it we told him we were leaving anyway which we did quietly. read more

I'm not a huge shopper. I also have been known to have panic attacks in department stores around holiday time. I HATE big stores and big crowds. If I HAVE to go to a mall, I almost prefer this one actually. I would say Kenwood has much classier stores. But driving to Kenwood on a weekend is one of my least favorite ideas. I've hit up the stores at Eastgate mall on many weekends. They have enough of the basics that I can almost always find what I need. The department stores are the best selling point, Sears, JC Penny, Dillards, and Kohl's. The food court is awful. I think there are 5 or 6 spots, and 3 of them are chinese buffets. If you want a peaceful, albeit deserted, shopping experience.. this is the spot for you. read more
