Be very, very careful of these shysters/thieves. I made a call and explicitly asked, "How much extra is oil if I order under 150 gallons?" The answer from the woman who answered the phone was, "5 cents per gallon." This was in early September. It was not during the winter months. It was the end of the summer when I didn't really need oil but decided I'd rather be safe than sorry. I ordered my tank to be filled, expecting to pay an extra 5 cents per gallon. Instead, because I was 5 gallons short of 100 gallons (a number never mentioned during my call asking for pricing details), I was charged an extra $40 plus the extra 5 cents per gallon. When I called about this hidden fee was told I should have completely perused and read every tab on the website to locate notifications of hidden fees. By the way, it took the woman on the phone several minutes to locate the hidden fee she was telling me I should have been aware of. Horrible, horrible company. I've done business with them for years. would rather freeze than do business with them again. read more

Be there when they deliver for you otherwise you ll.never get what you paid for . That's what I noticed with them. They ll never give you the right day in which the oil be delivered because they don't want you too the amount they put in your tank. First time they delivered for me 137 gallons and I was home with them since I paid 150 gallons and I have 1 quarter in my tank 137 gallons were enough to fill it up. The second time I ordered 150 gallons and I had 1.5 Quater in my tank . They said the delivery will be on January 2 nd but they made the delivery earlier on December 31 first .since I was not there they said we delivered 150 G and when checked the tank has only 3 quarters.of course i was not there when they made the delivery and it obvious to understand that the amount delivered was not accurate if you compare between the first and second delivery. I tried to reach out to them and their answer was horrible ( see the screenshot attached. Be at home when they deliver for you check them otherwise you ll be ..... read more

Been a customer for a few years and am super disappointed in their lack of customer service..they refuse to come out to my house to do a final reading before my house closes and am now potentially going to lose a few hundred dollars because they are a disgraceful, greedy bunch of assclowns. I called other oil companies to see if this is a common practice and IT IS NOT. one of the other companies said its part of the business to do final readings and weren't shocked when i told them who it was.. They have a bad reputation within the oil community. You might save a few bucks on their rates but you will never get any customer service from these people. STAY AWAY read more

Lowest oil prices in the area. They deliver a few days before the estimated date of delivery. Super friendly service as well!

BUYER BEWARE aka: OrderMyOil.com aka: CheapestOil.com Dishonest ... from the owner, to Pat the rude shrew that answers the phone. Their rave reviews were likely written by the office staff. Filled my tank to 3/4 full (about 100gallons), leaving room for 35 more gallons. Then charged me for the 150 gallon minimum. Owner is a coward who hangs up and tells you to go elsewhere, instead of correcting their dishonest policies. Many reviews show similar behavior for a long time. Filing a complaint with the AGs office, and a lawsuit based on Mass 93A, UNFAIR & DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES. I encourage you to do the same, if you've been ripped off by these people. read more

Very disappointed in their customer service. Had a few issues throughout the years, but last one is the last straw. Ordered Monday last week, told them the amount of oil left, enough for a week.....weren't able to deliver until following wednesday - but happily charged my credit card the same day. Ran out of oil, called. 0 resolutions and just a if you cancel it's a 4% fee. Lousy customer service and ok pricing is no reason to stay. This will be our last order. read more

This oil place is absolutely awful and has the worst customer service. I've been a customer for 6 years, I ordered oil yesterday with the rep saying it is NOT going down with the price of 3.599. Well I checked today and it went down to 3.499. I called and was going to cancel and she said if I do I cannot buy from them again. I asked if she could just refund me $15 and she said Nope. I asked if they did anything for returning customers of 6 years and she said nope. How awful is that?! These people make millions and they can't even refund me $15 freaking dollars!!! This will be my last time ever at this money hungry place. Do better guys, stop being greedy! read more

They are very nice and prices seem competitive. Never had an issue. It is nice to be able to look on the website and get daily prices

Buyer beware. They have started to charge your credit card immediately after you schedule a delivery of oil... Most credit card companies do not allow sellers to charge your card until the item has been shipped or in this case delivered. But the card companies must be told that the seller has done this to stop it. Other than that, delivery has changed recently from next scheduled delivery to your town to now up to 5 days after you request a delivery. Prices are still competitive though. read more

Congratulations to Eastern Petroleum for winning my award for the worst customer service I have gotten in the last five years. Before you read any further avoid buying your heating oil from them at all costs. They will find a way to rip you off. I ran out of heating oil on a thursday evening. I called Eastern first thing friday morning and put in my order. They told me that they could not deliver until monday--which I was fine with--none of their other competitors could either. They also told me that I had to be home when they delivered my oil and that they were going to charge me $25 to prime my starter. I told them that was fine. I just needed advanced notice of when they would come by so I could get out of work. They told me that they were going to call me first thing monday morning to let me know what time they were coming by. I ended up going all day Friday and the weekend without any hot water. It was not pleasant but I could live with it. Well, Eastern Petroleum, called me later on Monday morning while I was in a meeting at work and told they had delivered my oil but did not prime my starter (even though I had left the door unlocked for them and told them to come inside to prime the starter). They then told me that they were going to charge me another $125 to come back to my house to prime my starter. I told them no thank you. I then called Brow Oil, a company I had bought oil for before. I explained the situation to them and they told me that they would come by for free. They did that afternoon. Thank you Brow Oil. You have just earned yourself a loyal customer. In fact here is a link to their yelp page: http://www.yelp.com/biz/brow-oil-braintree#query:heating%20oil read more

Every time I have checked, they have the lowest prices. Every time I have called, Sue has been amazingly helpful and considerate. When they say they'll deliver Saturday, they do. And usually by 7 am that day ( I live 2 towns over). I check their website for times and call during their posted business hours, so I've never had any issue. Overall - great price, prompt service, courteous drivers, and friendly staff. read more

Have only had good experiences with Eastern Petroleum. Prices are the best around. We have been customers for 18 months. I gave them a call for delivery and got voicemail. Sometimes the voicemail is full and once I could leave a message. Regardless of size of this company I would like to believe they could afford an answering service. On their message they state that they have had a higher than normal call volume and they are booking deliveries for the week of the 15th but will need to talk to someone first before making a delivery. I would like to talk to someone as well but that does not seem to be important to them. Guess they have never heard of transferring their office phone to a cell phone. I am just glad the oil tank is not close to empty when I called. Poor customer service....Poor reliability...Poor planning on their part. I can be understanding about a lot of challenges but not being available for your customers for an entire day is ridiculous!!! read more

Awful customer service. Not only did the delivery driver write rude comments on the bill but the woman who answers their phone gave me attitude when I asked her to tell the driver to run the hose around the back of the house rather than the front. I stopped using them but accidentally called as scheduled an appointment the next season only to wind up irritated again by the woman nasty attitude on the phone. I went to log it in my phone's customer contact record as a reminder not use them and found the previous entry about what an awful experience I had with them. I should have read the contact record in my phone before hitting the dial button! Save yourself the trouble and go with a different oil company. I found several that were not only pleasant to work with but cheaper. read more

I have used this company for the last 15 months for fuel oil. Had both great experiences in refilling oil and annual service. Once like the other poster I ran out of oil, totally my fault, they came and filled me up and told me I could have bought diesel fuel. I asked him to wait and watch me prime it and if I couldn't get it fired up that he could do it for a charge. Well he did it with me and didn't charge anything. Honestly with an adjustable crescent wrench and an old bucket anyone can attempt it. They also did my maintenance this year and I stayed with the guy the entire time and he explained every step he did. I'll be honest I had a great experience so far with them. Also the price they charge per gallon is the best around. Usually the ladies who answer the phone are decent and if u call early they will get a truck to you during the next business day. I signed up for the auto refill after last winters cold shower so I'll let u know how that goes! read more

The rudest driver I have ever met ! I have been watching oil prices since I got a large house with oil heat. I started with the very very lowest priced places, and had issues such as them being one-person companies with no one to answer the phone and/or they want me to be there to pay them. Eastern was the 3rd company I tried. They are very close to the lowest price - a few cents more, but have been 100% reliable in the three years I have used them. Also, I appreciate that I can pay with a credit card, and that they have a fully staffed phone number - not an answering service. read more

By far the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. As well as the WORST oil service provider. I decided to try them out and scheduled a first delivery. First red flag- this is the first time I had ever used them as an oil service provider and asked if I needed to be home for them to inspect the tank and they said no. So, I scheduled a delivery for the next day. After a few hours of being home I began to notice this weird smell so I went into the basement. That is where I saw the DISASTER of a mess. To keep the story short there was oil in places there DEFINITELY should not have been. When i called their 24/7 emergency line they told me they would not come out to check on the tank. I expressed the severity of the situation and they still didn't feel the need or responsibility to take care of the problem and I was told to get some rags and clean the mess up myself. They told me it was a problem with the tanks installation. I was livid at this point and said forget it and went on to take pictures and clean the mess up ourselves. The following day I received a call from Eastern Petroleum again and once again they were rude and told me the earliest they would be able to get to me is 12:30pm. In the meantime I called the company that installed the tank and they came out IMMEDIATELY and we determined there was no issue with the tank but that Eastern Petroleum over filled the tank to the point there was so much pressure the oil began coming out of the top of the tank. I don't usually write reviews however this experience was TERRIBLE and issues with oil services is a SERIOUS matter. I was more disturbed with the fact Eastern Petroleum felt no responsibility and the rudeness they showed me as a customer was unacceptable. I WOULD NEVER recommend them to ANYONE and I urge people to use a different company. read more

Ughhhh. Where do I begin? Customer service is God awful. There's a woman here, Pat, who frequently answers the phone. Serious attitude problem about 90% of the time. As a renter, I'm new to the oil heating game. You'd think after telling them this they'd be sure to inform you that your furnace will need to be primed before you hang up the phone. I figured it out myself but what a nuisance. I asked one of the drivers where to find the gauge indicating how much oil is in the tank, he told me it was behind the house. Nope, not there. Wait times are ridiculous. Having to wait 5 days for a delivery when you have two kids and no oil is not ideal. I called to set up a delivery for the following Tuesday. I made sure to call the day of the scheduled delivery to get a time. The woman on the other end, good ol' Pat, told me they called me and left a message that the oil truck had "broken down" and the order would be filled the following day. Definitely received no phone call and no message. The awful service and staff has convinced me to find another delivery company. read more

I used this company several years ago. I called them for a service call. I had 3 tanks hooked up in tandem, because 4 years ago I would purchase all my fuel in the middle of the summer and then in the winter it would double and I would benefit big time. I called Eastern Petroleum for a service call because I purchased my fuel from the cheapeast company. Unfortunately when you buy cheap oil, they usually don't provide service. Eastern said Oh you can't have these 3 tanks hooked up together. That's not legal. Since then I only use one tank because the fuel doesn't vary that much from the summer to the winter. They serviced my boiler, but 2 months later I had to fix a incomplete service call done by Eastern. In summery be careful with Eastern Petroleum. read more

Boy! Ash P.'s review was so at variance with my experience that I had to write! Disclaimer: I don't have any connection to this company except as a customer. I've been with Eastern for three+ years; I chose them because I found their cost of oil to be the best around. Their service department comes to do the annual cleaning at an appointment time, not one of those generic:..."sometime in the morning.." arrangements which has me twiddling my thumbs for hours. Their annual service contract is on a par with others. Everyone, including the office personnel were friendly and took the time to answer my questions, and they called back when they said they would. One cold Sunday, when we ran out of oil, their serviceman came at 8pm from Cape Cod to get us started again with an emergency delivery. I recommend them to my family. I'm sorry that Ash's tank leaked. read more

This co. has the BEST oil prices, hence demand is HUGE. Frankly I don't bother "shopping" for price anymore as Eastern Petro beats the numerous competitors hands down, year after year. When phones are ringing off the hook why anyone would expect to be molly coddled is beyond me. The whiners should go elsewhere. Try having respect for the people answering the phone, understand how busy THEY are in season. That alone has worked wonders for me. I've been taught (by phone) how to prime, how to "save" the tank from having to even be primed. Eastern Petro has always been there when they say they will be. Need a smaller window? Call on delivery day, be polite. Leave the delivery person be after you offer a hot coffee, cocoa. The one they''ll decline yet appreciate just like your mail carrier would! These human beings word HARD, hustling to keep other humans warm. Appreciate the "little guys" and learn the world does not revolve around YOU. Did I mention you will NOT beat the prices? read more

I used this company four times over the last 2 heating seasons. Their price is usually the lowest around. Note that they have a 150 gallon minimum and that is what I order. The first delivery, no problem. Either the second or third delivery, there was a note on the receipt about stuff in the yard. I went to the check the level in the tank, above 3/4 full, and found that the cap was not put back on. Odd, I thought it would be automatic to replace the cap? Last fall I placed an order with them for 150 gallons as my gauge read just over a 1/4. Historically, my tank goes from 1/4 to empty in about a week during heating season, so there was maybe 40 - 50 gallons in the tank. According to the slip, it only took 89 gallons, so I was charged an additional .25 per gallon for under 150 gallons, plus a $40 surcharge for under 100 gallons. I don't believe it wouldn't take the additional 11 gallons. And again, the cap was not put back on. Think this guy has a problem? I called the next day and argued the surcharge without success. I considered disputing the charge with the credit card company, but did not. I have moved on. It's not worth getting moisture in my tank for 10 cents a gallon due to their carelessness or incompetence. They do not care if I buy their oil, they will just sell it to the next person. read more
