some of the guns purchased from EastBay Firearms

I bought few firearms from these guys, Rayan and Damon were extremely helpful. I find these guys to be very knowledgeable and professional; they go out of their way to address their customer's needs. If you are looking for a gun shop to purchase your firearm, I would strongly recommend giving EastBay firearms a visit, you will not be disappointed.

Worst experience I've ever had from a gun shop. Recently took in a slide to be cut for an optic and get the optic mounted. Was told in person it'd take about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to complete and that the optic would be bore sighted. As soon as I walked out of the shop I received a text message requesting that I write a review, and as of that time nothing had even been done. After 3 1/2 weeks and not hearing anything, I reached out and was told the slide was cut and would be shipped back to the shop from a machinist in LA that week. I was told I'd be contacted when it arrived. After not hearing anything for 4 more weeks i contacted the shop again and was told it arrived the day before. How true that is, I don't know, either way I was not notified that it was back. "About 3 weeks" turned into more than 7 weeks, and when I went to pick up the slide I was told the optic hadn't been "screwed down" so they did it while I was in the shop. As a result the optic was not properly bore sighted as I was told it would be. On top of all of that theres a gap between the optic and slide that doesn't seem correct. In conclusion I will give no further business to this shop, and will instead go to the various other shops in the area that I've had far superior customer service from. Update. Took the gun out to shoot for the first time after firing 5 rounds the sight has fallen off and one of the screws is now missing. After checking fitment the slide was never cut enough to begin with.

Botched rear iron sight by EastBay Firearms

Man I really hate writing negative reviews but I did give them a couple chances/benefit of doubt but they've continued to miss the mark. They will get very defensive if you have any problems even though they say "come back and see us if you have any problems" Initially when I had first visited this place, it was a very positive experience, hence why I had, yes had decided to return to continue doing business with them. However, that experience turned very sour from my most recent and final visit with them. It all started when I called them about if they have a glock 19 upper assembly parts kit in stock for a BARE SLIDE, remember this for later in my review as this is important. They confirmed availability for the kit and I asked if they could also install it and they said yes that would be no problem. So I go over there and purchase the kit and they install it then when it came to the payment part the guy says hey I'm adding $35 for labor and at the time I just go along with it just to support a small business even though they did NOT mention anything about a labor charge as most if not all other gun shops usually would include it as a courtesy since you are buying the parts from them. But you think it would be nice and polite to to let your customer know that there will be a charge for something before anything? Especially if you don't have it clearly posted or stated anywhere? Also the parts and almost everything in there are pretty heavily marked up compared but hey support small business though am I right? Almost forgot to mention they also fail to provide me the spare parts from the kit. Anyways whatever, not a big deal. I pay it and go on with my day. It wasn't till I bring it to the range and notice that the iron sights install was completely botched and the left side was not seated properly on to the slide in addition to the gun not reliably chambering another round after a shot. I call them up and explain the situation and they said to bring it in. So I do and they blame it on my optic screws being to long and I already told them I've done tried it without it and it still does it then they proceed to say that I need to put about 100 rounds through it oh trust me I did. Slide is well lubed up too. Anyways while one of them is trying to fix the iron sights I ask the other owner if they charge for labor for parts purchased from them and he said "no..." but then quickly back tracks and says "actually if we had to disassemble your stock slide to install new ones then yes we would charge for labor" but then I say "well it was a BARE SLIDE so there wasn't much disassembly there...thats why I needed parts for it and I was not notified at all that there would be a charge until after the fact." Then he goes "oh well i didn't work on it ask the other guy who worked on it, I can't speak on this anymore sorry." Sure... anyways the other guy did get the rear sight finally seated in but while doing so also severely scratched the iron sight itself. I ask them to at least cover the labor charge since I had to come back a second time and stated that there was no labor charge notified to me prior to installation. They proceed to say "I understand but hey man MY time is worth something, I usually charge $100 for gun smithing so I cut you a deal. Sorry about that but I'll get you next time." So much for being considerate of my time as a customer having to come back to your store for your mess up. Sorry to say EastBay Firearms there won't be a next time. I will no longer do business with you.

I was offered assistance almost instantly after stepping inside. The worker on the floor helped me find what I was looking for and even told me about the differences between two similar products. In fact, a couple different employees checked on me as I browsed the aisles of hiking-related items and camping gear in the store before making my purchase, which I appreciated. However, service at the front counter was a bit slow. I observed the sole employee at the register as she prompted excessive conversation with individuals without regard for other customers waiting in line. This included reciting words to convince customers to join the REI membership for rewards... nope, not when you just added extra unnecessary wait time to my visit while I stood in the purchase line. Besides, the staff on the floor already tried to promote this to me, and I wasn't interested. Eventually another register opened, but at that point I was already leaving. In the end I got what I needed without any complications, and that's what matters most.

Once again the checkout line backed up to the door until finally a second employee showed up to do her job at the register. I assume she was taking laps around the store and finally reached 10,000 steps? Anyway, the employees here seem to hide and they tend to be rude and act bothered if you interrupt their hiding and ask for help. You cannot find them at the register, on the floor, or in the dressing room. Very poorly managed store. Today's experience reminded me that I just have to deal with the drive to the Berkeley store or find another that is properly staffed with helpful employees. Two stars because it's a reasonably well-stocked store, I never have trouble parking, and the location is convenient even if the customer service is not.

He went back and forth to make sure I tried the jacket by layering it, sitting in the fitting room, hiking up and down the wooden cube you have in the fitting room to ensure I had sufficient mobility. He brought me all the sizes, informed me about the features and it was evident that he is passionate about the brand. A great pro shop!!!…read more I happen to be a bowler who had a Motiv bowling ball that is no considered illegal. I decided to wait until the new ball in the Motiv line comes out in the fall, but in the mean time I needed a new powerful ball that moves! I went in and talked with Gene one night about a new ball. After talking we were discussing the Nirvana and the Alpha Crux. We decided to order the new Nirvana. After the discussion, Gene walked out and was watching me bowl some in my league that night. The next day Gene called me and told me after watching me bowl, with the way I throw and power that the Alpha Crux would be a better ball for me. So we switched the order from the Nirvana to the Alpha Crux. From the time of order, shipping, and drilling was only a few days time and the ball was ready for me to be picked up. I went in, he had me try the holes before gluing things in place. He then smoothed out the thumb hole and my ball was ready to be thrown. Fresh ball out of the box and I rolled a 732 that night! I love the ball and the way it rolls and moves! Gene is a true professional. He could have just sold me any ball that I wanted but he actually cared enough to take the time to watch me bowl a few and then give a recommendation on a ball that will really suit my style. Gene truly cares about you as a bowler and your success, not to just make a dime!

This is only pro shop I've been in, so it's as good as it gets as far as I know! Seriously though,…read moreour experience here was excellent. Allergy Boy was saving up to get his own ball, and we didn't realize that the prices appearing with the balls on display didn't include a drilling fee. However, there was a small supply of used balls in excellent condition, for $50 bucks ("out the door") including new hole drilling. Gene took A.B.'s measurements, and the ball was available the next day. Gene was a hoot, and steered us toward the used balls, which was absolutely appropriate for a first time purchase for a 10-year old. Anyway, A.B. loves the ball, we've been going to Granada 2 or 3 times a week since then, and we'll be happy to shop there again.
