Good Chinese food. A bit pricey but what isn't these days. Crab rangoons are very good.

Have a family member that recommended we go here for lunch. She said that this location was much better than the Cedar Falls one. Hmmm.... Large fans were running when we walked in. Not sure why because it was in the mid 70s outside. Friend got the shrimp in lobster sauce (which I thought was brave). I got the orange chicken. We both ordered white rice but it came out with fried rice. We didn't send it back but I think the white rice would have been just as well. Fried rice needed a LOT of soy sauce and there were some bits of mystery meat in it. My orange chicken was OK. I didn't try the shrimp in lobster sauce but it should have been served in a bowl, not on a serving platter. The egg rolls were just weird and were pink inside. There was a bit of cabbage with whatever the pink stuff was. Service was good though. Order at counter and food is delivered to table. (We did have to shout over the fans.) We forgot to pick up silverware and the server grabbed that and some duck sauce for us. Fortune cookies delivered to table after we ate. A couple of large work group next to us raved about their meals so you might give it a go. The lo mein noodles that were delivered to them looked great. I will probably suggest another spot if we're back in Waterloo. read more

Delicious dinner special I had the shrimp and lobster sauce. Young man at the register was nice, patient, and polite. They also brought our food out to us quickly as well. The restaurant was pleasantly peaceful with plenty of seating with booths and tables. read more

Lol this place is not good... sweet and sour chicken was actually pretty good, and my walnut shrimp was huge... but the egg roll was shit, fried rice was plain AF, building was as Dirty as I could imagine.... the cattle fan was the icing on the cake for me... lol wow! Terrible food. Even worse service. I threw the food away and got chips from the hotel store instead. Don't waste your time or money unless you have a backup dinner and just enjoy aggravation. read more

NEVER again. I ordered scallops and rice. I guess they must have been out of scallops and they tried to pull a fast one by frying some other food like substance in a coil. Totally inedible and DISGUSTING. I couldn't even break one in half to figure out what it was with my hands or a steak knife. The other three real looking scallops were fried imitation crab (at least, I think it was). I have not had any issues the other three times I've ordered, and today I ordered at 4, so not even a busy time. Ive tried calling three times to complain and get my money back and strange, now they're not answering the phone (caller ID much?). This place is clean with their new location. The staff is tentative. I like that they take the time to wear uniforms and remember regular customers. The food is always good and a great deal. They have a buffet with lots of room for in dining great for groups. They are always quick with service. Recommend for good Chinese take out. read more

Today was supposed to be a good day. My colleagues and I were excited to be able to order some Chinese from here. They had been closed for several weeks. Three of us ordered food from there. We all ordered our usuals. One of my colleagues upon getting her food realize that in her fried rice was crab meat. She is allergic. She has already taken a few bites before realizing what was in it. She has some medicine that she is taking now but it could have been far worse. We called this store and informed them of what happened. They denied every word saying that it was impossible they did not put crab meat in their fried rice. Three of us tried to reason with them and they still denied it. We asked for a refund and they refused to give us a refund. We used to love going here but now we are refusing to give any East China restaurants our business. If they are going to be so rude and unprofessional and not take responsibility for their actions this time, why would I continue to go their restaurants? read more

Food is a little pricey but it is fresh and very delicious. I first went to hyvee next door hoping they had all you can eat Chinese like the ones in Omaha do but to my dismay they did not. Drive to East China and ordered the large general tso's chicken since I had not eaten lunch. I got about halfway through it and had to ask for a to go box. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who had not yet tried East China before!! read more

I ordered shrimp lo mein combo. Lo mein was dry. I asked for extra soy sauce I got 4 packets. I am staying at hotel and driver calls me to meet him out side. PATHETIC! Shrimp egg rolls were good, however some salt and pepper would have made a world of difference. read more

Worst experience ever! I called to place my order and the lady was extremely rude to me bcs I couldn't understand her. Her accent was very strong, she started yelling bad me bcs I would ask her to repeat. She kept hanging up on me. I asked to ask w someone else. The men that answered spoke good English took my order and didn't want to give me the ladies name when I asked for it. When my food got home it was the wrong order. I called to let them know and the same lady answered w a " you already have your food!" " what do you want now?" I told her that my order was wrong. She said no it's not. You paid nor eat it. Since they moved to their new and bigger location this restaurant is much cleaner and fresh. The food is typical fare with good flavor and good sized portions. There is nothing unique about this Chinese restaurant but you will leave with a good meal and full belly. The only complaint I really have is that in the winter, they keep the dinning area very cold! I know it's to save money but it is hard to enjoy the meal when you are shivering. We have taken to bumping up the thermostat when we get there so it has warmed up enough to take off our coats by time our food comes. read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Cedar Valley. The restaurant is always very clean and you can order online, which is a huge plus! I love that they have a diet menu, where the food is steamed and the sauce is on the side. I usually get three meals out of one dinner order. When I went to pick up food last night, they had some leftover authentic Chinese food that the workers there eat. The owner let me sample some clams and they were the best clams I've had in this area. This place is worth the extra drive if you live on the other side of town. read more
