General Tso's chicken combo
Anthony D.

I admit my expectations were low, I wanted General Tso's chicken, and I wanted to be good. I called made my order they said 10 minutes, I walked in at 10 minutes my food was ready. I got the General Tso's chicken combo with fried rice and an egg roll. The crunch on the egg roll was amazing, the roasted pork in the fried rice was amazing. The sauce on the chicken was perfectly spicy, and chicken was real, and cooked perfectly, juicy I split a piece in 2 with a plastic fork with little effort, delicious!!! Will return! Perfect neighborhood Chinese takeout!

Spots on broccoli is crazy not even clean 30 bucks gone for tonight

Got the beef and broccoli for my wife and the broccoli was old and taste different. Call to let her know than she got to acting like she didn't understand English be careful what get from you be go to spot now it different.

This is what they consider sweet and sour chicken

Terrible, my wife just went I stopped going a while ago when I asked for pepper steak, but a chicken substitute. They made a whole different dish up and when I returned it they wanted the old dish and tried to make me seem like I was the strange one. Food is not worth it.

Their version of chicken lo mein

Very disappointing. I threw away my chop suey as it was 90% bean sprouts only a couple of water chestnuts. The egg rolls were bad and I don't know what filling was in my crab rangoon. Out chicken lo main had what appeared to be a few ramen looking noodles. The chicken fried rice was the only edible item. $50 bucks wasted. Will never go back.

Chicken and Broccoli
Joe C.

Surprisingly very good take out! I've been working on the area for the past year and finally decided to give it a shot. Their lunch specials for the quantity of food you can't beat it. I got the chicken and broccoli, it was good but I felt as though there was a lot more broccoli and onion then chicken though. The fried rice was very good! I recommend checking it out!

Every restaurant should have a menu online.

China Gate is Chinese restaurant in South Euclid. You'll find it at Cedar Center North Plaza. It's…read morea convenient stop if you're shopping nearby. Also, a central destination if you're tracking from South Euclid, Cleveland Heights, or Beachwood. I was craving Chinese food for dinner and stopped here for takeout. It won't be by regular takeout destination. AMBIANCE: China Gate is a takeout only place. The restaurant is very small and not so clean. Half of the restaurant and seating is obstructed by random boxes and storage. There are three tiny tables inside. The chairs and tables are affixed to each other with little room between the two. It's impossible to sit comfortably. It was very uncomfortable to even sit and wait for takeout. Dining in is not a good option. FOOD: The menu is multi-page containing options like combo plates, soups, fried rice, lo mein, and other familiar favorites. Spicy dishes are clearly denoted in the menu. There is a pink sheet with up charges for items - oil, soy sauce, fortune cookies, and others. I ordered Sesame Seed Chicken Combo Plate ($14) and Wonton Soup ($6.50). There were plenty of problems with my order. The main one being it wasn't quite my order. Sesame Seed Chicken Combo Plate comes with pork fried rice and egg roll. My order came with small white rice, no egg roll. There was a generous portion of chicken (container full) but it was awful. It was not a cohesive dish. Some pieces were very dry, others too soggy. Some were sweet, others a bit sour. The chicken was not evenly coated in sesame seed and honey sauce. So it was essentially half sauced. The sauce tasted like honey from honey bear container that was extremely diluted. The sesame seeds tasted slightly burned. The entire dish was bland - not sweet, not salty, nothing. Won Ton soup was not good. The broth was considerably darker than similar soup at other places. There was too much onion. The won tons had a lot of dough and teeny tiny meat pieces inside. Single pieces of meat were nice but they were too fatty. Overall, the soup was too concentrated/dark soup base but also lacking flavor. SERVICE: Service was chaotic. I walked in to place an order in person. The employee took orders of multiple people calling in before acknowledging me. I was standing right in front of her. She was raising her voice at customers on the phone and almost arguing about what the orders contained. I will say that there were lots of questions asked to ensure that the orders were right on the phone. Average wait time provided was 10-15 minutes. My order was up very quickly. Overall, I found service to be very unwelcoming and too animated. SOUVENIRS: Cute glass and ceramic Chinese horoscope figurines are available at the counter. It is unclear if they are for sale, no prices are listed on them. PARKING: Large parking lot is available at this plaza. Plenty of places to park. I was pretty disappointed with my visit. I didn't get the right order. My order was not tasty at all. I'll sound silly, but after tasting my meal, I strongly considered immediately going to another Chinese restaurant for another takeout. I will not be returning because no part of my visit was satisfying.

We returned for dinner this time and we're really glad we did. If you head to Lee Rd in Cleveland Hts you will find several very good establishments south of Cedar Rd. But if you go a few blocks north of Cedar you will come upon a cute little stainless steel diner right out of the 1950's. You have arrived at "Abundance Culinary". Modern Chinese concept curated by Executive Chef Liu Fang. Upon entering we were greeted by a very kind and professional gentleman who immediately seated us at a comfortable table in the center of the restaurant where we were quickly greeted by Nathaniel, a marvelous young man with a ready smile and quick whit. He introduced himself, filled our water and introduced their sommelier. A pleasant woman with a friendly demeanor. She explained the evenings offerings without appearing condescending. Her suggestions were spot on. The staff worked together all evening like a fine tuned machine. At any moment someone would suddenly appear at our table to satisfy our every desire. Our meal started with the "Dumplings Variety Sampler" which gave us 2 of each of the available 4 different dumplings. They were an excellent start... flavorful, with just a touch of spice yet not too filling. I followed that with the "Lamb Shank" perfectly prepared and loaded with flavors. My wife & brother had the "Wagyu Xiao Chao Beef" which they said was excellent. My sister in law had the "Dan Dan Noodles" which was full of flavor but a little too spicy for her taste. We followed our meal with an excellent cup of coffee and the "Chinese Cobbler". It was a marvelous evening with exceptional service and wonderful food. We will definitely return and you should do yourself a favor and pay them a visit.
