This place is one of my favourites in Adelaide. They do everything well, especially customer service.

What a great find! My friend, Mirella, brought me here a few days ago for a coffee and a shared…read moreorange polenta cake. Oh my!! Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here (so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!

You couldn't add Kale even though one dish had it and the outdoor area had a strong bad smell. Still the coffee was great and the juice and food was good. My partner didn't like hers but I would come back and try again.

I do find it rather interesting how a friend of mine is trying to convince me that Adelaide has…read morebetter coffee than Melbourne, particularly since he doesn't drink coffee, and hasn't been to Melbourne for a very, very long time. However, when you discover places like this you have to admit that there are definitely some aspects to life that reminds me of Melbourne. Yeah, this place is actually pretty cool, and they definitely make some really nice coffee as well. Honestly, I'm quite glad that I accidentally discovered this place.

I am definitely on a quest for finding Adelaide's best brew! My search lead me to this lovely…read moreneighbourhood café. Pantry on Egmont is everything that I want in a café. It is charming, friendly, simple, homely and has that vintage vibe to it. This is the type of café I imagine would have been around more in the 50s-60s around Adelaide. I think they died off a lot a long time ago, but there is a revolution of using old corner store space in Adelaide. I love it so much! The coffee here is definitely one of the best in Adelaide. So easy to drink, the flavour is full and nutty. No bitterness. Beautiful latte art and cups! And don't we all know that coffee is best matched with cake? Oh yes we do! I ordered the Orange Almond GF cake. It had some apricots on top of the cake that had been cooked down. Almost like a jam? So yummy! The cake was moist and not too sweet. I just wanted more! My best advice if you are going to visit this café, is to get there early! It is popular and busy. But for good reason. The brekkie menu looks awesome, I was in immediate regret in eating food at home first! Why, oh why!? I will return to sample the menu.

Dear Daisy, I'm…read morewriting this review to you today to let you know that I very much appreciated your hospitality today over lunch. You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Imagine the excitement coursing through my veins when a brand spanking new cafe (with all the…read morehipster/trendy trimmings) opens up 5 doors down from my house, and dearest Daisy, you passed my expectations for a local with flying colours. Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!
