I was referred to New Image Paint & Body Center by a coworker who told me they did vehicle wraps…read more Because I trusted her recommendation, I decided to have my car wrapped by Fabian Valencia.
I was charged $2,485 for the wrap, including labor, and paid a $750 deposit. During the process, Fabian found some rust on my car and offered to repair it for an additional $200. I agreed and told him to go ahead with the repair.
What was supposed to be a much shorter process ended up taking an entire month. Throughout that time, Fabian repeatedly texted me with different reasons for why the job was taking longer than expected.
When I finally picked up my car, the wrap initially appeared to look good. Fabian also told me that my battery had died while my car was in his possession and that he had purchased a new one. I offered to reimburse him, but he specifically told me not to worry about it because the battery had died while my car was in his possession.
At pickup, I paid the remaining $1,735 balance for the wrap, $200 for the rust repair, and even gave him a $300 tip.
Fabian and his wife, Jazmine Cruz, who is also a part owner, asked me if people ever asked about my car and whether I would refer them to their business. I asked if they had an Instagram account so I could post my car and tag them. They said they didn't have one and instead gave me their business cards.
Unfortunately, by the time I got home, the wrap was already coming off and bubbling. I immediately contacted Fabian. He told me he would stop by my house after work, but he never showed up and never called.
From that point forward, communication became extremely difficult. I felt like I constantly had to chase him down just to get a response.
Eventually, Fabian told me to bring the car back and said he only needed it for two days. I dropped it off and even gave him additional time. When he eventually told me to pick it up, I discovered that the wrap had not been repaired. The only thing that had been done was the windshield wiper, which had been broken while my car was previously in their possession.
Fabian then told me that he needed to order a different type of wrap because the original material he used was not adhering properly. He said it would take about a week and that he would contact me when the new wrap arrived. Once again, I never heard from him and had to repeatedly reach out myself.
At that point, I was done with the situation and requested a refund. Fabian initially refused and also refused to provide me with a receipt. He told me that he wasn't obligated to provide one because the work was not done through his business. This was confusing to me because I had been given business cards, encouraged to refer customers to New Image Paint & Body Center, and was dealing directly with Fabian in connection with the work.
After I posted about my experience on TikTok, Fabian contacted me and said he would refund me. However, he is now refusing to refund the full $2,485. He is attempting to deduct the cost of the battery, even though he previously told me I did not need to reimburse him, as well as other amounts for additional work/expenses that were not agreed upon as part of the original transaction.
I have pictures of the condition of the wrap and screenshots of our conversations documenting what was discussed.
I am sharing this review so other people can make an informed decision before trusting this business with their vehicle. My experience involved a month-long installation, a wrap that began bubbling and coming off immediately after I picked up my car, poor communication afterward, difficulty obtaining documentation, and a disagreement over the amount of my refund.
Based on my experience and now having to go to small claims court, I would not recommend New Image Paint & Body Center for any service. They refused to provide me with my full refund, and throughout the situation, I felt that they did not care about me or my concerns as a customer. Unfortunately, the way this matter was handled left me very disappointed and dissatisfied with their customer service.
