The final straw for me was seeing a dead roach on the floor (pic included). The existence of the roach isn't the problem (it's nyc), but the fact that it's dead just lying on the floor shows just how little they care about cleanliness and customer perception. Plus, most of their bigger machines are broken and only being able to use coins can be annoying at times... 2 stars instead of 1 bc they're the cheapest I've found and have chairs to sit in (which not all have!) To all the people doing wash and fold--just because you don't sit in and see the dirty place doesn't mean your clothes aren't in there!

Josh and Champion Cleaners deserve all the applause for excellent service. I don't hand out stars…read morein my reviews, but when quality service is rendered, I do not mind and gladly rate Champion Cleaners so very highly for doing all the little and big things right. I don't know if anyone is paying attention, but quality and quality service is lacking these days. It's easier and often of less cost in the short run to take short cuts at the expense of customer loyalty and sense of receiving the best of treatment from a person and business you may rarely see in this age of pickup and delivery. If you're reading this all the way through, good on you and better for you. I can confidently state Champion Cleaners is a service you can count on to pickup and deliver as if you know Josh and his business as a brick and mortar. Understand what that means in this day and age. Understand you will be a loyal customer of Champion Cleaners without question. How often can one state that these days...? Let me give you my most recent example. I have a white Guayabera all linen long sleeve shirt with the vertical pleats on the front, the kind you can wear to church, to weddings, to fine dining, and on important dates. Now then let that shirt be unknowingly stained in multiple places on each sleeve by a dark and tarry mushroom supplement you take. You think, "this shirt is ruined on the first wear." Not so quick with Josh and Champion Cleaners. I texted Josh and told him of the challenge to clean this shirt. He replied, "we'll do our best." Their best at Champion Cleaners was well up to the job and I texted Josh that perhaps he heard the applause coming from my direction in the still of the early morning in the City. Josh and Champion Cleaners can save you money and save your garments. Five stars!

I had done the washing of…read moreeverything I own the first time, and I just could not imagine going through that again, so I went online and found Bed Bug Laundry Service (which in the contract says it's Astoria Cleaners Inc.). It had 3 good reviews here on yelp and a couple of good reviews in other places so I figured this would be a good place to use. WRONG! I separated my laundry. I had 18 bags, and sent 2 for dry cleaning and 16 for washing which I specifically labeled. They simply ignored that and sorted my laundry in the most expensive way they could find. They dry cleaned clothes that do not even have "dry clean" on the care label. I mean they dry cleaned my handkerchiefs (which btw should be washed with bleach), my snowboarding pants, my jeans, EVEN A BATHROOM RUG!! I mean who dry cleans a bathroom rug? When I argued that I had only sent TWO bags for dry cleaning, he told me that I had agreed to the contract and in the contract it says that they will sort out the clothes the best way they see fit. So yes that was my mistake to trust them and assume that they would sort it the best way possible for cleaning, not that they would sort the laundry the most expensive way an dry-clean almost everything I sent them. In the end they sent me a bill of almost $3000 which I had to pay in full before they delivered my clothes. I tried to negotiate but the owner would not budge and told me if I didn't get my clothes within the time agreed they would start charging me for storage. I am so angry. I ended up charging my card over my spending limit because, how else would I be able to afford this? I don't know. All I know is that this service is a rip off and they will make sure to sort your clothes in the most expensive way possible. I would give it zero stars if I could.
