I found that with Kids & Company, a partner that helps me educate my child in his early years with great activities and programs, provides amazing food, hosts family events and most of all has a wonderful and caring staff. I quickly pulled my child out of this program when I saw another child injured, lying on the couch bleeding. The 1 teacher in the room with 13 other children was " busy sweeping the floor" because she was told to clean. I have no idea where the other staff was. When I went to management and told her what I had witnessed, she told me it was the end of the day and that staff children ratios where allowed to be lower. She did not seem at all concerned about the injured child. If you have other options, Keep your child far from this center. This is not the first time I saw staff cleaning rather than attending to the children. Undeserving of even 1 star. Safety first!

They have low turnover for their staff, which makes it much better for the kids to find stability and bond with the caregivers. They do fun adventures when weather permits, such as going to High Park or the local Library, or even walks around the block. The backyard is well shaded with trees and they even have sprinkler play on the super hot days. The woman who runs the facility, Branka, is very kind and you can tell she loves children. They have hot meals provided each day that are cooked in their facility. Despite the usual rounds of colds, especially over the winter months, I've found that they have great sanitary practises to help keep the kids as healthy as possible. The only reason we didn't continue with them is because we moved.

The site is very well maintained and extremely clean. The meals and snacks are carefully planned by a nutritionists who incorporate diverse menu (fish, tofu, various ethnic menus like pad thai) that incorporates seasonal veggies and fruits. I cannot say enough about the staff though - they truly love what they do and it shows. From the day we started transitioning my little one at 12 months, all the teachers have shown nothing but love and care. They make sure each child is engaged and cared for and I am always grateful for all the work that they do with the children. The webcam access to the room is also a bonus (it came really handy during the first few weeks when it was just as much of a transition period for me as it was for my child - I may have spent a good chunk of my day watching/weeping/laughing). Another added bonus is how responsive the head-office is to suggestions. Parents are encouraged to give feedback and suggestions and they are very responsive to parents' inputs. The weekly newsletter also allows us to know what my little one has been learning so that we can reinforce some of the things at home (ex. songs or books that they have been learning). Kids and Company really is as good as it gets in terms of daycare :)

Our oldest (now in SK) moved on to full-day kindergarten and has excelled with the help of the preschool learning he received from the Kids & Co. team. The staff are always very friendly and considerate and always look forward to seeing my older son return to visit them. My youngest son is 3 years old and is currently attending the Preschool class at Kids & Co. Finch. He started off slowly with his language skills but since being at Kids & Co. he has quickly picked it up and is now able to communicate very well for his age. He is very engaged and interested in learning and this is because the staff at Kids & Company make learning fun. The site also offers a delicious and healthy meal plan that keeps the children energized throughout the day as well as regular outdoor play, as weather permits. The rooms are well-kept and there are usually two staff members in the preschool room, which helps keep things manageable and allows the preschoolers to receive special, individual attention, as needed. An added bonus is that the whole facility has recently been renovated and it really looks fantastic. The children are encouraged to play together and are taught to respect one another which in turn enables them to create lasting friendships, even at an early age. In fact, my older son still has play dates and attends birthday parties for friends he met at Kids & Company. My wife and I have been thrilled with the service and staff at Kids & Company - Finch. From the Site Lead, Stephanie, to all the staff members, they go out of their way to ensure that there is always open communication regarding our children, so that we can nurture and develop them together as a team. They are always courteous and professional when addressing any concerns or when relaying information regarding our child. My wife and I are very happy with our decision to send both our boys to Kids & Company and recommend them to anyone who is looking for a top quality daycare to put their child into.

I can honestly say that there isn't a better, happier, cleaner, place for my children to spend their days. The staff is genuinely friendly and nurturing who care about the wellbeing of ALL the children. They are well educated in the background of early childhood development and offer a program that fosters learning in children from infant to preschool. As an elementary school educator myself, it was important to find a daycare for my children that would encourage them to develop to their fullest potential. I believe, It All Begins Here Daycare provides an excellent atmosphere for children to grow through balanced learning, creativity and play. The food is amazing and nutritious. Ms. Trezzi provides us with weekly schedules of meal plans and she has beautiful, clean industrial kitchen where all meals are prepared on site. My boys have never come home hungry and the Daycare always provides a daily record for each child on what they ate, when and how much. They also provide daily information on how much sleep kids had during nap time and when they went to the bathroom. The classroom E.C.E. always takes a minute to provide feedback at the end of the day upon pick-up as to how their day went, and the detailed activity board always shows the exciting activities and centres the children participated in that day. Another thing I love best about It All Begins Here Daycare is the central location, but yet it backs on to a quiet neighbourhood. The back yard where the children play is beautifully enclosed by nature- not a busy street or parking lot. Even better, on those days when it's too cold or rainy- It All Begins Here has an amazing indoor heated gym where the kids can run around in. The gym is bright from all the natural light that enters through the windows and filled with amazing gross-motor play equipment. All the other daycare centers I had seen did not meet the standards of this facility. As a new mother I was skeptical about where I was going to leave my children at 12 months when I went back to work. I went to see many other daycares before choosing this one. From the minute I walked into It All Begins Here Daycare, I knew I had found the right place. Ms. Bianca and her staff have always been caring and accommodating. I feel comfortable leaving my boys there and they are happy to return and see their teachers each day. I give this Daycare 5 stars !!

The teachers are AMAZING, the curriculums are AMAZING, the facility is AMAZING, the Director is very professional but sweet at the same time, weekly menus are AMAZING, and just the overall genuine love, care, and compassion they showed my Nyla daily left me feeling she was in such a safe place, which she was! The HiMama app they use uploaded daily schedules, announcements, photos, menus, notes, and anything else you needed to know about your child on that day. It was such a wonderful addition to the center and so easy to use! I loved it! My husband and I would love to hear about how her day was and she loved to tell us about all the new things she learned. She loved her teachers so much! Starting in the infant room she was guided, mentored, and encouraged to reach her full potential and by the time she graduated from the Preschool class she had! I was so sad on her last day because we were going to miss It All Begins Here Daycare so much as they were such a huge part of our lives. There will never be enough "thank you's" Vanessa Trivelli

Not only that but they also offer JK/SK and Lorna is a great teacher. My son learned SO MUCH in one year of JK that he spent there. They create structure, but don't get bogged down by it. They offer life experience and spend as much as possible exploring through play as a teaching tool. Especially in their backyard oasis. They even offer music enrichment classes. One of the great things about friends is that there are children from the age of two to five all in the same room. Again, this offers a family experience. The staff are also excellent. They spend a lot of time working with the needs of you (yes, you) and your child. The staff here can tell exactly what kind of morning both you and your child have had when you arrive. And they truly help out when it's time to say goodbye to your little one. For anyone in the U of T area who wants an affordable and unique daycare experience, I highly recommend Friends.
