I am updating this to give you a chance to retrain your staff for future interactions with your potential patients. As I am showing you in the attached screenshot, I am very much aware of the insurance plan I have and what my coverage entails. Your office, again in the screenshot, is in network. The issue is that your staff argued with me that (in her words) "ALL insurance plans cover vision through VSPs, and I don't see you with either of the major VSPs". I do not in fact have a VSP, this is correct. I have a PPO insurance plan that provides vision benefits. You can do with this information what you will, but another optometrist was able to find my plan with just a little bit of diligence. It might be the case that a majority of your patients use a VSP, but don't insult your prospective patients by telling them they don't know the products they pay for. read more

Great eye doctor! Knowledgeable staff & very helpful in navigating the process for new frames.

The doctor is rude and mean. I will take a minute to explain what happened. I first will say the front office staff was very nice and helpful. I come in with previous RX for contacts (Air Optix Aqua). I explained that contact fittings go round and round and I always settle back on the brand I had. The doctor looks at the Rx on the boxes and says "I don't mix contacts lens like that". (I should have walked out right then.) He gives me one trail contact lens one for distance and a weaker contact so I can see close (pretty typical for people needing bifocals - which I have tried before, but he insisted). I came back in a week and explained that I could not see middle range things like my monitor at work. He then gives he multifocal lens to try. He informed me that He would be using the same RX in each eye (also tried before, but he would not let me tell him that). Today, I come in and he tells me that he can do "nothing for me and I need to just use reading glasses". He was not open to discuss any other options and became combative and argumentative. For example, I wanted to discuss distance glasses for driving because using reading glasses at work would be a lot to get used to or maybe slightly modifying my previous Rx that was working fine. in conclusion, the doctor failed to review my previous RX that were from a different manufacture (Oasys by Acuvue do not work for me as well as my previous Air Optix). The doctor simply wanted to argue and fight with me. He closed down and just started repeating himself and would not listen nor was he interested in trying anything. He was not open to what worked before, he stubbornly just kept telling me, I have no options and he would not change the RX. This doctor needs to never be with patients he is truly unprofessional and rude. I filed a complaint with VSP and I hope others do as well. read more

Really bummed. First time was pretty good. Prescription wasn't quite right but I got my glasses quickly. This time was dismal. You have to agree to take the display frames (Are you kidding me?) and it took six weeks to get my glasses. When I arrived, they literally handed me the glasses with nothing. No case, no pouch. Dr. Eap is so knowledgeable. I have been going to him approximately 6 years and this year I actually took the time to ask questions. I asked questions, not necessarily concerning my eyes. Dr. Eap answered Eberle one of them, in such a way making me so comfortable. I knew he was knowledgeable, but never knew the depth. As a Doctor and especially as a person, you can feel he genuinely cares about your health. What truly made me loyal was when my husband was having serious concern about his eyes. Dr. Eap saw him within an hour of calling and 15 minutes of closing. Dr. Eap did not rush us out, answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns and exactly what to do if "the curtains were closing" in his vision. The best place to get your prescription filled! I used to go to Costco to get eyeglass prescriptions filled, but with progressive lenses they often don't hit the "sweet spot". Veronica at Eap Optometry is the best! Super efficient, has a great memory (she pulls my file from 2 years ago before I say my name), handles the fitting and transaction withing minutes! The best! Expect to pay around $300 for progressive lenses with coatings etc. Frames extra, or they will fit your own frames (which Costco won't do). A great price! Great service! read more

Horrible, this place is s scam. I have VSP insurance and they told my daughter she needs to pay $80 for a contact eye exam. When I called my Insurance they broke it down, Minus 15% of exam and if no contact will be purchased insurance will pay $60 towards ecam price. Exam is $108-148. I called EAP to confirm price and we agreed the correct price for my daughter would be $65.80. I spoke with Veronica at EAP. My daughter goes today and they are trying to tell her to pay $120. I called EAP again and told them I talked to Veronica and we went over this. Sad to say instead of honoring the $65.80, we canceled the appt. This place is a scam read more

I went there to buy a pair of sunglasses with my insurance, and the staff were VERY rude, disrespectful, and lazy! It was very disturbing and annoying! I wanted to buy a frame and give it to my own eye doctor that I trust to add prescribed glasses! I have bought different frames from different stores over the years and never ever had any problems! One of the staff talked to me in a way that I was a thief and she was really RUDE! She did not even explain anything to me, just said NO without checking my insurance or checking anything! I did not even want to respond or argue as she was talking to me in a very disrespectful tone! So, I just left their store thinking they were either racist or disrespectful in general! Great place, wonderful people. I have been going here for a few years, since 2000 I think. The parking is good, the place is easy to get in to. I have never had a problem with appointments or long waits. My wife started coming here this year and they have done everything to make sure all looks and is working great. Went in for my eye contact fitting and dilation of my pupils. So I think the Dr. is extremely knowledgeable, honest and direct, which when it come to my eyes is very important!!! I had difficulty letting them put the contacts, but they made it so easy and pain free! I got every thing done in like 45 minutes at the most. Front staff is kind and respectful of your time, inquiries and are sensitive to your vision Needs. Through my girlfriend's recommendation I was able to check my eyes under the care of Dr. Eap and his wonderful staff. I am a video editor and, needless to say, I stare at the computer screen for an ungodly amount of hours per day and after years of doing so, I've realized that i've been squinting my eyes more and been pushing my face closer to the screen just to make out fine details on the screen. Cue in Dr. Eap. He welcomed me in a friendly manner and carefully examined my eyes with the utmost professionalism. Despite realizing how poor my eye sights have become (and my pride crumbling along with it), he managed to make the whole process surprisingly easy and, more importantly, comfortable. While subjected to the solution that dilates the eyes, I was able to pick out my new frames with the help of Dr. Eap's staff and my girlfriend. After everything was said and done, Dr. Eap told me that my new glasses will be done by the following week and they would give me a call. I found Dr. Eap through the recommendation of a friend. I had been several years under the care of another optometrist, who was okay, but not fabulous, so I gave Dr. Eap a try. I didn't realize what I had been missing! The exam was really thorough, and not at all rushed. He took time to explain things, and helped me weigh the pros and cons of various options. The office staff has always been very friendly, as well as helpful with frame selection. A few months into wearing my prescription sunglasses, a glued-on frame embellishment fell off, and they were really great about replacing the frames- no problem. Excellent Optometry Dr. Eap does a really good job with prescription and making sure that you are taking good care of your eyes. He recommends that you use "Refresh" drops every 1-2 hours especially while working on computers and a Refresh gel at night. Also during the day wearing Polarized glasses to avoid cataracts. The staff is very friendly and professional. Highly recommended for regular checkups. They have a decent selection of frames as well to choose a lot of name brand frames that will look stylish for your new subscription! read more

Stephen Eap and his staff are professional, efficient and thorough. My family and I have been patients for the last 7 years. We have had a myriad of different prescriptions, tests and diagnosis, all with successful and satisfied results. What a rip off artist this quack is! I went in having used 30day contacts for years and he talked me into trying daily wear (for a fitting fee) which I didn't like - then trying some two week wear (which I found actually painful - AND he charged yet another fitting fee). So when I wanted to go back to what I originally came in for - I was told there would be yet another (yes, that is three times the fee) fee. He also wrote me a RX for eye glasses which I took to another Dr and found out he was wrong! How much would that have cost me ordering wrong glasses! I went elsewhere at a greater cost to myself for the final contact fitting because I would not give him a third fee our of principle. I can only say RUN - RUN WHILE YOU CAN! read more

New to the area & used Yelp to find an optometrist. Found EAP & it's near my home. I was able to get right in, but I was skeptical because it's in the Stater Brothers shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. Clean, professional, and I completely forgot I was in a shopping mall! Most importantly Dr Eap was thorough, had a good bedside manner, and was genuinely concerned regarding my family history of certain eye disease. I did not feel rushed, the assistant was pleasant, no problems looking up my vsp insurance and was a very smooth appointment. When picking out my new glasses there was no up-selling. Awesome! Eap Optometry was a great experience all around! The doctor is awesome and the exam was very educational compared to other optometrist I've been to in the past. I've been wearing soft contacts for the last 15 years and now have been introduce to daily wear, which I absolutely love. This is the worst optometry I ever been to. The doctor was inpatient and rude. During the eye exam, I always felt rush and nervous with him because sometimes he showed me his attitude. He is not definitely people person. I originally went to the place because they were doing $99 deal (include eye exam and eyeglasses), but I ended up paying over $420. After I got new eyeglasses, I realized that I couldn't see better than my old one. Also, the frame I bought didn't have nose pads. Since I don't buy eyeglasses often, I wasn't paying attention that some eyeglasses don't have nose pads. I asked the front desk lady if they could attach nose pads on my plastic frame, but she said that it would cost $60. As I am an Asian, my nose is low. I wish that she told me that plastic frame doesn't come with nose pads. I felt that she was inconsiderate. Later I went to another optometrist. They said that it would cost me $30 to attach nose pads (half of the price), so I ordered them there. I will never go back there and will not recommend any one else. read more
