During the next rain, I noticed a section of gutter was leaking. I called J&M and they sent to team out to investigate. Turns out the former owner had used silicone in an elbow joint that wasn't sloped properly, so when it didn't drain at the rate it should, it would drip. The silicone had worn down, so John and the team applied gutter grade sealant with no complaints and no extra charge. The gutters are working great. I definitely trust this team with my business.

We completely agreed that we needed larger gutters and definitely guards! We never felt pressured and we never felt like there was an upsell. When it came time to install, we worked with Katie and Kim from the office, both of whom were super patient with my questions and with explaining the scheduling process with me. They were on time, were very pleasant, welcomed questions, worked well as a team, had a clean job site, cleaned up after they were done, and were very respectful of me and our home. We purchased the Gutter Guards for their functionality, but John and Larry did such a wonderful job that I told them that they made my house prettier! I could really see that they took pride in their work and wanted it too function and look as good as possible! My wife and I have a home in Bethany Beach with a steep roof. In heavy rainstorms water would spill…read moreover the gutters, so we looked on Yelp and had The Gutter Guys come out to give us an estimate to fix the problem. The result: I needed larger 6" gutters and downspouts, priced at about $6,000 for the job. We signed the contract on the spot, in the end of January (when we weren't here) they came out to do the work, sent the bill electronically the next day, which I paid the day I received it with the work sight unseen. BIG MISTAKE!!!! A few months later we got to our vacation home and could not believe the job. Yes, the gutters and downspouts were replaced, but the drip edge (running from under the roof shingles and wrapping around the corners of the roof) looked like an opened tuna can. Worse, actually. Pictures are attached. Upon reaching out to The Gutter Guys it took about 2 weeks before the sales rep who sold me the job could come look at it. He told me what was done to get the old gutters off the house was "normal." If that's normal, I wonder what abnormal would look like. He did note some areas that needed more work and told me the crew would come back to address the other issues. And he told me that to fix the problem caused by his crew I'd have to go to a roofer. That was in May. By August they had not shown up to fix any of the issues, though I did have two other gutter companies come to look at the work and advise me on how to fix it. Both of the other gutter companies said they'd never seen a roof drip edge left in that condition and that "normal" was certainly not the word they'd use to describe it. After repeated conversations with The Gutter Guys sales rep he did say his crew should have noted the problem and that, as a minimum, I should have been sent pictures so I'd know what to expect when we returned to the home in the spring. In late August The Gutter Guys refunded roughly 10% of the job's price for the drip edge. My wife and I just got the roof replaced -- many times more expensive than the 10% refund -- to fix the problem caused by The Gutter Guys. We're now having the house painted, and just found wood rot (see picture) under one of the downspouts that were replaced by The Gutter Guys. It's not possible that their crew missed this wood rot, but, like the other problems and substandard work, I wasn't informed of this. And I wouldn't have known as the problem became worse had I not been getting my house painted. I'm willing to guarantee that the owner of The Gutter Guys wouldn't tolerate this kind of work on his own home. And I'll also guarantee none of the crew who did this to my house would have done this kind of work on their own homes. Gutter Guys are perfect for your job. Provided that you're looking for workers who will damage your home, not let you know about it, cover it up, and have to be dragged kicking and screaming to take any degree of accountability for their shoddy work. Worst company I have ever worked with. Absolutely horrible. RUN, DON'T WALK, AWAY FROM THE GUTTER GUYS.

While cleaning our gutters, their workers chipped paint off of our house. We just had our house painted to put it on the market. I left a voice mail to let them know what had happened. I didn't receive a return phone call after a few days, so I called again. This time I spoke with the owner, Pat. I told him what happened. He asked that I send a photo and offered to send one of his guys out to take a look. I sent the photo via email and never heard back. Called YET AGAIN, left a message, and to this day--about a week or so later--I haven't received a phone call. We paid for the service the day of and now I'm wishing we didn't, as perhaps we'd have some leverage to get them back out to fix what they ruined.
