I was worried it might be too small, but it was just right! I stayed in the loft bedroom's king sized bed and my friend stayed on the queen sized sleeper sofa downstairs. We had perfect timing and got to see the leaves changing color and enjoy the cool weather (being from South Florida these are both unusual!) We cooked some of our meals at the cabin in the well-stocked kitchen. There is a full fridge, stove/oven and a full set of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils and silverware. It got cold enough that we made hot apple cider and lit the wood burning fireplace. It was also nice to have the hot tub to soak in after a day out on the town in the cold. The nearby town of Helen is an adorable Bavarian Alpine Village with great little shops and restaurants. We also drove to nearby Dahlonega to check out the shops and artists there. We were able to go horseback riding at the Sunburst Stables in Clarkesville and we also took a trip to the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland - I highly recommend both! I can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy some more outdoor activities like tubing on the Chattahoochee River or boating on Unicoi Lake at Unicoi State Park.

Blairsville is a small ittle mountain town up near the Georgia and North Carolina state line. Blairsville is home to the tallest peak in Georgia, Brasstown Bald Mountain, part of the Blueridge mountains. There are so many things to do up there (cut down your own Christmas tree at Southern Tree Plantation, tubing, hiking, shopping, horseback riding) and it's just a beautiful town in general. These cabins are nestled on the side of a mountain, right off US19, a main highway in Blairsville. They are in a community of other cabins, but still ensure privacy behind trees and distance. Our cabin was Blackberry Cabin, and it was one of the highest on the property. We have a V6 regular drive Dodge Dakota, and it made it up the gravel road with no problem (after realizing we needed to give it a little more gas than these flat road drivers were used to!) The cabin was fully equipped and gorgeous. We had all the comforts of home plus a wood burning fireplace, and an breathtaking view from the porch. At the entrance of the community, there is a firepit (with pre-chopped wood always stocked), trails to hike along a stream, and fields to play a game of Frisbee if you're so inclined! If you're looking for a safe, comfortable and beautiful mountain community to spend a weekend (or week) at, check out Highland Falls Cabins! You won't be disappointed!

The best part was the 40 foot deck. We had a large family visiting and there was so much room with wraparound seating and a sunken hot tub. Although it slept 7, we easily could entertain 15-20 on the deck with ample seating. During the day our young children played badminton and volleyball out back, they even had a volley ball net set up for play. This had to be the most relaxing vacation I could ever imagine..we will definitely come back and stay at the Oasis!! We had a blast tubing down to Helen and horseback riding...Larry at the office was great!

The host, Greg, also drove by the house and stopped to ask if it was all women staying, making us very uncomfortable, but we pushed the feeling off. Next day, he is in the yard with a couple showing them the property for their potential wedding, because they were in the yard we felt we had no choice but to let them inside. Again, we were uncomfortable, but let it go. Upon leaving we have received an $1100 damage and cleaning fee, for a pool table we never used. The owner has sent rude and threatening messages. Would not recommend staying with this group.

Cabin was dusty/dirty and in disrepair, cigarette butts on the porch, and the hot tub wasn't drained from last guests. The kitchen and game room wet bar were infested with German roaches and there were scorpions in the basement bedroom where our kids were sleeping. Called the owner (Diane) and she did nothing... didn't attempt relocate us to another cabin or just offer to refund the cleaning fee.... nothing! When we told her the grill was out of propane, Diane told us to change our plans and get it ourselves because she was too busy. Owner doesn't have the resources for providing clients solid customer service when things aren't right. The cabin we stayed in... Rich Mountain Lodge....is marketed as suitable for weddings. Assuming that you don't want roaches crawling around on your wedding cake (yes, the roaches were really that bad. We couldn't even use the kitchen without them crawling out of the stove or dishwasher).... keep looking. There are plenty of fish in the sea of cabins in the Blue Ridge area.

Helpful instructions were placed throughout the cabin in a way that was both decorative and informative, making everything easy to navigate without feeling overwhelming. The owners truly thought of everything, from extra batteries and firewood for the outdoor fireplace to all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. The cabin was spacious, comfortable, and offered plenty of privacy thanks to the surrounding trees between neighboring cabins. Highlights included a fun game room with shuffleboard, an outdoor television, built-in bunk beds, a large dining table for gathering together, and three levels of sleeping areas that can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests. Check-in was incredibly easy. We were provided with a unique entry code and detailed directions, which were helpful since GPS could have led us to the wrong location. The views were beautiful, the neighborhood was quiet, and the entire experience was stress-free and enjoyable. I highly recommend this company, and especially this cabin on Trina Lane. If you're considering a cabin getaway, this is a fantastic choice.

I want to add some context about my experience after our stay, because I believe it may be helpful…read moreto future guests. We traveled with our dogs, and I mistakenly failed to add them to the reservation when booking. That was my error, and I take full responsibility for it. One of our dogs also sheds considerably, and there was a significant amount of dog hair left on the bedding. I do not dispute that either. After our stay, the host contacted me about the dog hair and mentioned an additional $50. I sincerely understood this to mean an additional cleaning charge because of the amount of pet hair, and I had no objection to paying it. I later learned that the $50 was actually the pet fee that should have been paid when I booked. What concerned me was what happened afterward. In a public response to my review, the host characterized my failure to add the pets to the reservation as intentional--essentially stating that I had tried to avoid paying the pet fee. I contacted him privately and explained that this was an honest booking mistake and that I had never intentionally attempted to avoid the fee. Rather than simply acknowledging the misunderstanding, the conversation became increasingly accusatory, including comments about what I supposedly believed was acceptable regarding the condition of the bedding. I contacted Vrbo regarding the situation. They advised that they could not remove the host's response and encouraged me to leave my original review in place. I am sharing this because reviews are about the entire guest experience, including how issues are handled when something goes wrong. I fully accept responsibility for failing to include the pets on the reservation and for the additional cleaning necessitated by the dog hair. What I do not accept is having an honest mistake characterized publicly as intentional dishonesty after I explained what happened. Future guests traveling with pets should be especially careful to verify that the pet selection and fee appear on the reservation before arrival. I also think prospective guests should be aware of my experience with how a misunderstanding was handled after the stay.
