Stopped in on our wine tasting tour. They are one of the oldest wineries here in north Georgia…read more Took the wine making tour with Bob the owner. Very cool. Learned some new stuff. Wines are mostly dry with a couple of whites and sweet wines. Everything we tasted was delicious. Our fav was the Jacked up red and the cab sav. A great spot with some very friendly people.

It is unfortunate I need to even leave this review, but the lack of professionalism from this place…read morehas been astounding. First let me address the extreme bug infestation in the Cats Meow cabin. This was never addressed. We ended up having to deal with it on our own. Please be aware that these large insects were coming out of the faucets in the property. However, the issue here is this - I had initial dates booked here that ended up needing to be switched due to my Grandmother unexpectedly passing away. I called into Paradise Hills and the front desk gal adjusted the dates to what I stated, or so I thought, during funeral arrangements I simply did not have time or mental capacity to make sure they did their job correctly. Turns out they charged us for an extra night. The owner has since blocked my emails from coming through trying to get the night refunded, or resolve the disgusting bug/roach problem in the Cats Meow cabin. The lack of unprofessionalism from the owner and refusal to do anything regarding the bugs while on property, then charging an extra night we never asked for, refusing to refund it, then blocking my email to avoid the issue is insane. Steer clear from this place unless you want to be met with rude owners and sleep with roaches that you'll end up having to pay to kill and clean up yourself. Mind you, I've not been rude to Bob, or his staff, I'm simply trying to correct their mistake and never wanted to leave a poor review for the place. I'm simply trying to get refunded for the one night they charged extra for, which is basic customer service for their mistake, especially given the extreme bugs coming out of upper and lower faucets in the property and spewing into the common areas. As you can clearly see by how they respond to negative reviews, I am not surprised he blocked me from paying me what I would consider stolen money, and as you can see how these people treat anyone with a negative review tells you all you need to know. Not once did maintenance come by to deal with the mess of a cabin with a roach infestation (and don't try to say we didn't address this like you do to every other patron, I have receipts for EVERYTHING!) including images of your "bug sprayed cabins" (which, you're welcome for doing that for you Bob) All you needed to do was the honest thing which was give me my nights money back, that was due to the error of your staff. Steer clear from this place, and before the owners call "harassment" like they've done to everyone else on their reviews, please note I've tried handling this amicably and professionally and at some point the owners need to realize they're the issue.

We have stayed in numerous hotels in our travels and the Everett ranks as one of the best if not…read morethe best. It has so much charm. The rooms are well accommodating -- the lighting is excellent (the best yet) and the towels are large and plush. The staff so very friendly and helpful. The rooftop lounge with the fire pit was fantastic. We spent considerable time enjoying sitting up there. The location of the hotel is perfect for shopping and eating. Speaking of eating, the restaurant at the hotel offers delicious meals. Don't hesitate to stay at the Everett!!

BLUF: Historic building, friendly staff, interesting rooms and a convenient location…read more My husband and I really enjoyed our one night stay at The Everett Hotel inclusive of a delicious dinner at The Bistro. We would have loved to have stayed longer but we considered ourselves lucky to get a room at all during the peak Fall season. We stayed in Room 9 which is on the third floor loft with an interesting pitched ceiling but no windows. The room was great for afternoon napping and it was just footsteps away from the rooftop deck. For a longer stay we would have probably preferred a room on the second floor with windows. I love American history, architecture and Americana so staying in this old circa 1904 bank was fabulous. We even took a peak at the old bank vault that is now used as a wine cellar and pantry inside the restaurant. The hotel staff here is top notch. Everyone was so welcoming and I appreciate that the hotel called before our stay to see if we wanted to make a reservation in The Bistro. The Bistro is a small, quaint, refined restaurant that books full for its dinner service so it's nice that they make sure hotel guests have an opportunity to book first. Our dinner in the Bistro was fabulous - I had the filet while my husband had the Ettouffee. We also had breakfast at The Bistro the following morning which was also very good. In addition to the five-star staff and cozy room, we loved the location of The Everett Hotel. It was walking distance to everything in town including shops, restaurants and the train station. It was also a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park. As an added bonus, it is right next door to the Swain County Heritage Museum. We were conveniently able to park behind the hotel. Other conveniences we appreciated were the filtered water and coffee in the hallway. A special shoutout to Daniel who made us feel so welcomed.

It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We had the very best experience here with our friends! Highly recommend. PS) Very surprised about "Rita O's" review. The front desk employee Michael was also very helpful and friendly. The pool was nice and I found the room to be average, with everything In working order. The beds were a little hard and oddly the pillows were not uniform sizes. The bathroom door was very hard to open and close. A child could easily get stuck. We went to Brassie's for dinner and the server was very sweet and friendly but they were obviously shorthanded and the service was slow. We also ordered take out and the wings were a little freezer burnt. We did take out from the dining room as well, only ordering 3 side salads as they were out at Brassie's. The order was wrong (the initial bill was for 3 large salads (almost $40). It was finally resolved 25 minutes later, after a heated discussion between employees regarding changing the TV channel and an impolite exchange between the two hosts about who would seat a couple. The ice machine on the second floor did not work and the bartender at the dining room was rude. The view from the back porch was amazing, like something from a movie. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. The lobby is very nice as is the gift/pro shop. I did let them know at the front desk about the issues and they made a significant adjustment to my bill. Overall, we had a nice time and it is my understanding that this was their first weekend opening post Covid, so that might explain some of the issues. I did see another review that mentioned some of the staff making them feel unwelcome. This seems to mostly be an issue in the dining room. I got the same feeling and it was disappointing to find this in such a nice place. Overall, they seem to need to make some changes in staff and focus on details like adequate Brassie's staffing, less hold time when calling, verifying that things like the ice machine work, having food delivery to guest rooms from the restaurants, after hours food availability of some sort and fresh not frozen food in the restaurants. Please dont misunderstand though, the place is beautiful and some of the employees really worked to make our visit nice. Overall I would recommend. We travel very often and will return as this place does many things right. Hoping management will act on some of the feedback that I have spent time sharing here. The difference between an amazing stay and a mediocre one lies in attention to detail and how comfortable and welcoming staff are. With a few minor changes, this resort could be amazing.
