The place was laid out so we didn't necessarily need help, but in the wine area, a really helpful older gentleman helped us pick out a great reasonably priced Pinot noir at maybe $22-23. Very pleasant experience. Interesting, varied selection at multiple price points. Just a very few of those little signs under various wines (you know, like: 89 points Wine Spectator, intense cherry and cassis with a forward palate, drink now through 2019) - but their selection was good quality and we've had or recognized many of the options on the shelf and they were all solid in the Pinot Noir section where we focused. It gave us extra confidence in the recommendation we took on a wine we hadn't tried before. It was lovely. Super beer collection too. If we hadn't had a long hot car ride the next day, I'd have grabbed a bunch of six-packs of very cool sounding local brews.

It was lost during one of my many moves. Fast forward four decades, I stopped in Avon a few days ago specifically to pick up a t-shirt for my girl and walked out with a smaller reprint of the same poster. I call that a win. Same smile too. High prices!? Huh? It's frickin' Beaver Creek! I am happy that Beaver Liqours is still in business and remains family-owned and I appreciate that they haven't shied away from their sense of humor after all of these years. Seriously, if you can't work out from the name of the place their personality ... You're probably not the brightest bulb.

The selection should get the job done for many people, a little light on the beers, definitely on the sparkling wine, but they have the core liquors and a reasonable selection of red wine. Also wanted mezcal and they either had one or none; memory is failing me on which it was, and I know mezcal is not as popular as its cousin tequila, but most liquor stores at least have three or four.

I also sent an email to the store and got an immediate reply from the manager, Val. He apologized for the incident and bought me a fresh 6-pak of the beer of my choice. I chose Lagunitas Little Sumpin' in bottles just to be safe. Val could not have been nicer and he assured me that the employee in question was schooled in the fine art of customer service. Any store whose management is that responsive to customers deserves my business. And yours.
