If we are trying to save a few bucks on lunch we go to the little Chester chicken kitchen/hot bar and get stuff. Honestly prolly the best chicken strips around. They are always moist and not greasy. I'm a huge jojo guy or as most people call them potato wedges and bar none they have my favorite always so crispy and good. Not a lot of seasoning on the stuff so we grab some salt and whatnot but you don't really need it if your a dipper and get the ranch and honey mustard. It's probably just Sysco or something but it's dang good. The staff are pretty straight forward and attentive but always nice. We cashed in a hundred dollar winner lotto ticket and asked for a hundred one dollar tickets out of the fullest stack the fella working laughed and said he'd never heard of that strategy. But it didn't work as we only returned $76. Good food on the cheap if you're trying to save a buck. Also a lady at the hot pools said if you call ahead you can get bigger orders of stuff and they give a small discount but I don't know for sure.

Halfway between Ogden, UT. and Pocatello, ID. this large C-Store has everything you would possibly need for people traveling between Idaho and Utah or vice-versa. Fair gas prices at the same or sometimes less that the other store across the street. Great bathrooms that are kept clean for the most part, hot food options, a fairly large selection of liquor and wine and a large beer fridge with tons of options, and your other normal C-Store offerings. But a main reason that everyone comes down to this store is for lottery tickets and scratchers. You can get Powerball and other Idaho lottery tickets here as well as scratch-off tickets from $1 to $20 each to test your luck and possibly win big. Being that it is just past the border, I usually see more Utah license plates that Idaho plates, down to buy lotto tickets! Stop by KJ's if you are ever in the area and check it out. Great place!!

Upon arrival in Jacksonhole, we stopped by Creekside Market to grab sandwiches to go, which is about a 20 minute or so drive from the airport. Creekside Market is a small market in a strip mall next to Dairy Queen. It has all your basic food and fishing needs in addition to a deli and liquor market. The deli serves sandwiches, salads, soup, and breakfast burritos. For the deli sandwiches, you fill out a paper slip at the counter and they make it on the spot for you. We ordered three custom sandwiches- one turkey, one beef, and one meatball sub with varying veggies and cheese and all toasted. While the turkey and beef sandwiches were good, the MEATBALL SUB was the star of the show! It may have been the BEST sandwich I've ever had. It is stuffed with eight HUGE beef meatballs slathered in marinara sauce and gooey melted provolone cheese (the cheese pull was 10/10!). It was savory, juicy, peppery, and everything a good meatball sub should be- I can still imagine the taste today and am still drooling for it! I was full eating just half a sandwich and so I had plenty to share with my family members who agreed it was a top-tier sandwich. I would go back to Jacksonhole just for this sandwich!!! Service was fantastic and we got our food within 15-20 minutes after ordering, considering it was during the lunch hour rush. Sandwiches are anywhere between $11.50 a $18.50 for an 8" sandwich (or a little less if you want a 6" sandwich). Note that there is no seating and so takeout is really the only option here. The bathrooms and floors are clean. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for ambiance

One of the…read morefirst areas of civilization is the city of Swan Valley, and it's Centre at Rainey Creek development. Right there, at the edge of perfect timing, and continuing a long drive across a desert stretch of nature stands some essential--"last chance" establishments. Ranking among the most needed is the got-it-all Swan Valley General Store. While the city itself houses maybe a few hundred, the Aisles full of fresh, frozen, boxed & canned foods keep the 1500 or so people of the surrounding counties, and all the traveling tourists well stocked. This place doesn't even know it's "small-town." Fuel, groceries, a butcher starion, hardware section, and a deli that keeps fresh made grab and go items that keep needing to be restocked--all day! In the time we were there (about 1+hrs), the store never had less than four customers roaming around, at the checkout, and they all came by the deli section. The deli also serves up soup, and fresh Made-To-Order sandwiches for lunch. It has indoor and outdoor seating. I mean-total pitstop, stock up, rest area, with Coffee, sodas, food and any other thing you can think of, literally "it all." The help at the deli never stood still, always working, until we approached the counter. Then they were all ours! Perfectly friendly, patient, eager to help get deserts out of the case or answer any questions, and make our food. The store checkout counter was the same story, amazing! Cheery, talkative, helpful checkers sent me away with a smile. None of this even describes why we came here, or the breathtaking surroundings! We came here to visit for the first time, the deli. The deli is great, good for a hungry stop, serving up descent sandwiches in a comfortable eating area. That's great, butttt, much of what we had, was not fresh made. The desert was packaged, and the sole available soup was likely packaged and heat up in a crock warmer. The sandwhiches were fresh made, which the meat n cheese tasted fine, but the bread was dry, toasted to a crispy rock, and not much flavor. I would say, "maybe just a fluke," but the person I was with also gave the food a-- "it's OK." Who cares, we would eat here again (try something different) if we found ourselves here at a place that was a total "No!" Because we ARE coming back! The area is too beatiful and fun not to. If you come here, stop at this store. Even eat at the deli, cuz all that hustle, and constant prep can't be wrong! Check the pics of the area (sorry, Im not great with photos). We saw a small otter in the stream that i tried to video-- but ... Missed..you might see it live if you go!

The two women/girls working the desk were very kind to my husband and I as we stopped here after a nightmare 2-day fix on our car which broke down.
