Health and Safety Violation! There's not a whole lot to say about this place except for the fact that it's literally in the middle of nowhere. You have Downey not to far, but definitely a lot of country out here. I will say the diner set up they have had those old diner movie vibes and you're fighting the feeling of "oh this is a fun place" or "crap! I might get jumped." My wife and I stayed up the road in the super fun Dome Air b&b and this was a great close stop for us to be able to get out and get some ice cream. The ice cream itself isn't bad, it's just blue bunny. This didn't bother me as much but I do know if my wife noticed she would be grossed out, but the lady serving us the ice cream didn't use her gloves and kinda pushed the ice cream off the scooper with her bare finger... luckily my wife doesn't read my reviews so this is a safe place to share this information. read more

First of all this company does not care how there kitchen looks. They do things all the time that you should not do in a restaurant. The cooks can't do anything because no one dose anything . It don't look like they even clean anything. They promise you all this stuff and never fellow though with it. Like benefits which they don't have not even a 401k .And they lie. I'm writing this review for another cook that works there. He just wants people to see how bad the kitchen is. The cook has also sent me pictures of what it looks like. To me is seems like the owners don't know how to run a restaurant. And neither does Management. Not to mention that there meat is way past safe range. I also have pictures of that. I will not eat here. I also would not want any one else to eat there. How the hell did they even pass health code I don't know how. I was told by one of the cooks that they left the walk-in fridge open all day because it kept freezing. So to fix it they left the door open. Which is making food way past safe level and they serve it to customers. I also have pictures of that. I will post them below. This place is a bad work place and unsafe to eat. PLEASE DONT EVER EAT HERE. On a side note I stayed at the hotel and saw a mouse. When I told front desk about it they said oh yeah it's full of mice. It's an absolute TRAVESTY that this place doesn't have 5 stars. This little truck stop has the BEST french fries. Period. As someone who is from Idaho but has now lived all around the country I feel like I can say that with some authority. In addition to the tremendous French fries the scones are to die for. The burgers are also standard diner fare. Honestly, as far as diners go, this is as American and as LEGIT as you can get! I love this place, and you will too. read more

This was an odd place. We stopped to grab a snack while on a road trip. The bathrooms were stocked but dark and dingy. Flavored condom machines were an immediate red flag along with the abandoned motel several hundred yards from the truck stop (check the hilarious reviews on Flag's West Motel). The employees were very nice. However, we realize after driving away that our candy wrapper's "best by" date appeared to be rubbed off. We should have held out for the Love's further down the road. read more

We showed up at 11:00 and it was not busy. All of the tables were dirty. We selected a table for 5, there was three of us there already. The waitress did clear the dishes and washed the table. There was no sanitizing. She took our drink orders while we waited for the other couple. 15 minutes later, I still did not have coffee or the drinks. When the other couple arrived, the waitress came and took the order. She then got our drinks and my coffee. When the food finally came 25 minutes later, the scones weren't even hot enough to melt the butter. My chicken fried steak was small and burnt. I guess they thought enough gravy and I wouldn't notice. The waitress dropped the butter for one of the scones on the table, wiped it up and said she would get more. That didn't happen. When the bill came, I asked if I should take it up front and was told the waitress would take care of it. That didn't happen, finally took the bill up front after 10 minutes. I used to love it there. We always stopped when driving to Salt Lake. Not sure we ever will again. It was an awful experience. read more

This little truck stop and restaurant is a hidden little gem that you MUST stop in for a bite to eat. They just don't have places like this very often on the road. Food is very reasonably priced and it is true home cookin. Had the "Everything Omelet" and it was terrific! Do NOT pass on their scones! I wasn't expecting much at this combo Truck Stop, Motel and RV park. The surprise when we arrived; the place was far enough off the freeway and far enough away from the truck stop portion that it was nice and quiet, had good WiFi access (even better than most that advertise their service as great) and the killer views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Stayed an extra day just because of the great Internet access and the views. The low rate was also very much appreciated. Would stay again if in the region. read more

Wow. Stopped here to grab some lotto tickets on the way home. There was one cashier working and her rudeness was appalling. I wanted a scratch ticket that was in the case next to the register she was working. The side I wanted a ticket from had a big sign saying "register closed". I told her what i wanted and she literally screamed "if you want some from that case, you need to go to that side!" Ummmm. Excuse me for thinking you could take ONE STEP to the register that was two feet away. Not to mention, there wasn't a cashier there, hence why I asked her. read more

Twice in the last two weeks we have been in and it has taken forever to get our food. We are regulars, the girls know us. I understand if it's busy but both times we have been in it has take anywhere from an hour to almost two to get our food and it's not busy. I don't blame the wait staff as they have no control over the kitchen. Tonight the main cook didn't even care that i had been waiting over an hour and that my salmon was not cooked. Please quit hiring warm bodies it will only bite you in the ass. This used to be our favorite go to/ date night since we live in the middle of nowhere. We probably won't be back read more

great little store has snacks and drinks & even many novelty gifts. Polite sales help. clean bath rooms. They even sell hard liquor!

When it comes to truck stops, I am all-for it. Some may scoff at the idea of pulling of a spinner stool at the counter and making small talk with the waitress; but for me, the truck stops are my favorite part of road trips. The waitress (at Flag's West, this is a grandma-mother-daughter trio that takes care of the customers) refer to customers with food-related nicknames such as "sugar", "muffin", "sweets", and sling truck-stop lingo to the cook all while juggling plates full of delicious comfort food. read more

Excellent food! Most of the stuff is homemade. Very good pie! Fresh brewed iced tea. Good place to stop on the road, and all the locals eat here. read more

Slow service. The soup was way too spicy to eat! How can every soup be so spicy! Chicken from the deli was dry. Out of 6 pieces only 2 were edible. Not even my dog would eat it. read more
