We came today for the first time to go take our kids Tubing down their snow blown slopes. We didn't have to pay for parking because we have the parks annual pass. It was $35 a person for 1.5 hours and they closed at 8pm. My kids had a total blast tubing! There's 4 different lanes to go down so you don't run into other people and they have 2 escalators you can easily walk up so that you spend more energy having fun. Theres also a sitting area for family that's not tubing or for you to take a break. They had a fire pit going and a little snack shack. Great time! Worth the money for us! read more

it used to be better. They used to have a waterslide for the kids, zip line, etc. They have slowly stopped doing these things. Now they are tearing out the waterslide. they are now doing a whole bunch of development work, but it looks like they are just turning it into a big expensive park for people to camp, which of course will generate a whole bunch of money for the state, but not really offer a lot of activities for local families. Then again this is happening throughout Idaho. It's really sad to see the priority switch from the kids in the families to the revenue and the metropolis station. This easy access state park is located right off of state highway 44 in Eagle, about 15-20 minutes from Boise. There's a $6 entry fee if you don't have a state park pass, but apparently those can be bought for (I think) $10 at the dmv. The park has hiking/walking trials, a lake that you can fish and boat in (non-motorized), a beach with 4 roped in swimming areas, picnic tables, a disk golf course, zip lining, and a water slide! The zip lining is run by a different group and you have to go through them to do it, not sure who the water slide is run by but there was a booth that you could purchase access from. We went for a nice long walk on our visit. Found the Loop Trail on All Trails and followed along with that for the most part. We shortened it and didn't do the whole 5ish miles that it showed, but ended up with about 4. The trial was a flat and easy walk and could've been shortened or extended in many places. Without the app, the trails weren't all marked that well, so it could be easy to go the wrong direction for a ways. Liked that the trail followed along the river for a bit, you couldn't see past the brush to the water in most parts, but in the spots you could the river was a nice view. Bathrooms were closed when we visited, though they did have some port o potties set up. read more

I walk my dogs here all the time. It's a good park for that. They have big fields where dogs can run off leash.

Another fantastic place to embrace the outdoors right in the heart of the Treasure Valley. This large state park has a large frisbee golf course, tons of lawn, a pond, a "beach", a play structure, two bathrooms, several shelters, plenty of walking paths, a zip line company and a paddleboard rental company. Phew! We like to go during the height of summer to spend time at the beach. The sand is really nice, soft and usually kept very clean. The beach area is large enough for lots of people to spread out. They keep a swim area roped off which helps if you have younger kiddos. Non-swimmers can paddle board or kayak and around the bend is good fishing spots! There is a playground right next to the beach with some shade. They have had problems in the past with water-born illness but since adding the bubblers, it has been a lot better. I don't think they've closed the water since. You can spend lots of time wandering the trails, hanging by the beach or playing on the grass. In winter there is a snow hill made for tubing! read more

It's great to have a State Park so close to the city! Eagle Island is a nice big park with lots of activities to do throughout the year. Visited recently to take photos of my daughter's family for their Christmas card. There were plenty of good background areas for the photo shoot. We plan to return periodically to experience this park's beauty and amenities. read more

Winter at Eagle Island park brings Gateway Park's snow hill. For just about $20 per person, you can buy an online pass for an hour and a half session of tubing down a man-made snow hill. Great park in Eagle that I regularly visit with my dog. They unfortunately had a toxic algae outbreak earlier this summer, but quickly took action cleaning it up, and making the water safe again for swimming. I'm super happy about that! Dogs aren't allowed on the sandy beaches, but there's lots of open, more secluded spots at the far end of the park, that are less crowded anyway. Dogs can swim, but are required to stay on leash on land. Also a great spot for floating, kayaking, paddling, blackberry picking, disc golf, exploring, and more! read more

Nice location to hang out for a couple of hours and just enjoy nature. Birds, squirrels, ducks and geese, all surround the lovely little lake. Fishing is allowed here. Wonderful and large covered area for picnics under the gazebo with tables and chairs. Not sure about restroom situation, haven't used so can't say. Very relaxing place to go. Lots of little gnats and bugs sometimes so be aware of that. Overall, a very relaxing place to chill out. read more

Our favorite location to go on a summer day with the kids. Easy access. Always can find a spot if you come at the right time. Which is mostly a weekday after 4pm . Works for us. I have been to Eagle Island State Park in both summer and winter and find it great for both! Located less than 10 miles west of Boise, this park offers a little something for everyone regardless of the time of year. Trails, waterslide, volleyball courts, paddle boarding, and disc golf are all great options in the warmer months. In the winter, located inside the park is Gateway Parks, which is a snow park that offers (for a fee) tubing as well as a short snowboard/ski jump. So, you can get in a little snow time without ever leaving the valley! One quick note for parents, though--the snow is made from the local pond water, so if you have super little ones who will constantly be wanting to eat the snow? Might want to wait until their a bit older. They typically bring in a food truck/stand as well as offer hot beverages by the snow park and have campfires going for those who'd rather sit with a cuppa and keep warm while the kiddos tube to their hearts content. It's a $5 entrance fee to get into the park. Definitely worth it for a day of fun! Get to it! read more

We came today for the first time to take advantage of the beach. Parking was $5. We were worried when we first arrived because the parking lot was so full, but we were able to find a spot on the beach without feeling crowded. There was plenty of space for water play in the roped off section as well. There's restrooms, changing rooms and a play structure. A water slide is available for an extra charge of a dollar a ride or $12 unlimited access. The sandy area was clear of garbage and the grassy areas were well kept as well. The playground lacked a swing set, but we were mostly there for the beach, anyway. There's not really room for things like beach volleyball but if you just want to relax on the sand or play in the water, it's more than adequate. We will definitely be back. read more

Lovely, lovely, lovely little park. There is a $5 per car fee and yes someone is working the gate. In summer there can be quite the crowd of families picnicking and swimming. Life jackets provided. In winter there is a snow hill and tubing. Check prices online. They have a few snow makers and the berms are just huge. Very nice people mover so you don't have to grab your tube (and kids) uphill. It is possible to walk all the way around the pond and it's all very naturalized. Horses are welcome and there is also a frisbee disc course. There are multiple canopies and group areas and the restrooms seem sufficient to the area. A very small playground area compliments the large green space. read more

The trail at this park is only half hour long so it's good if your looking for a short hike or walk. The mosquitos are not that bad but there still are some, I spotted a few wasps but they won't bother you if you don't bother them. The beach here gets cleaned, and people have they're masks on, so if your worried about getting infected with the virus, people are pretty careful here. read more

Awesome little state park to go tubing, skiing, or snowboarding during the winter season! I visited Eagle Island with a couple of my friends this weekend. Tubing costs $15 per person, and while lines might look long, it moves pretty fast. Tubes are available at the state park; so no need to look for your own tubes (which apparently is sold out in all of Boise). This is extremely family friendly; heck, I think we were the only friend group there! Parking/Entrance fee is $5, and there is plenty of parking at the park. This is a fun place to take your family for the day. They have a playground and the beach area is fun for little kids to gradually go in to the water. I have been here multiple times for these two amenities specifically. Word of advice though: buy the state park pass for your vehicle when you register it at dmv and save on parking. This also allows you in the other state parks around idaho. read more

Spring is not the season for this park. Being from CA I was expecting green, & lush & trees. What I saw was flat , brown and sort of desolate. The good news, there was no fee to enter, it appeared there was a training class teaching hunting dogs (very cool) there were trails you could hike. The water park was closed for the season soooo.
