Ann Morrison Park remains to be my favorite of all the parks Boise has to offer. It's well maintained, offers beautiful scenery and is very dog friendly. My husband (then boyfriend) used to live in apartments while attending Boise State University so we came to use the park quite often. My absolute favorite part was the winter season when the park allowed dogs off-leash from November through February, supposedly to help with Boise's insane goose population. It always made my heart so happy to bring my fur babies to meet and play with other dogs (although he probably enjoyed the people and pets more). I wasn't the only one. The park became so popular for pets, Boise City elected to have a permanent dog park constructed to be used throughout the year. Additionally, the park is a wonderful place to enjoy a stroll just about any time of the day. I love evenings the most. I've seen some beautiful, sunset skies swallowing the silhouettes of trees flaming potent hues of pink and orange. Best seasons are definitely spring and fall. That's when the park can truly flaunt it's beauty. Now that I've moved away from the DT Boise area I'm unable to frequent this park as much as I'd like. I did drop in the other evening and caught a beautiful burning sky. I've also dropped pictures of the dog park pre Dog Island era.

The fountian has nice benches for a break.

We went to the Balloon Classic in this park. The park was clean, the event was well organized and lots of things to see and do! Food trucks and port-a-potties were ample and clean. Very nice spot to take the family.

Ann Morrison Park is a large, beautiful urban park. Even though it's less than minutes from downtown, you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. There are paths for biking and jogging along the Boise River, as well as plenty of space for playing catch and a playground including toddler swings. You can also have a picnic using one of the many tables scattered throughout the park. Today we enjoyed a peaceful lunch before walking along the river, watching the ducks and playing in the park. It wasn't terribly crowded, but the park is so large I can't imagine ever feeling overwhelmed by people.

A beautiful park with lots for the kids to do. The playground is modern and up to date with plenty of room. The sitting for the adults is on a wide amphitheater like seating and there are ample park benches and picnic tables with shade to choose from. This is also the location to get off from tubing down the Boise river, so it tends to be quite busy. The bathrooms are clean. There is also a huge fountain where you can cool off or get drenched. The only issue was that there was moss build up around the fountain and we noticed a lot of people (our son included) slipped a lot. Someone could get hurt. Wish they would monitor that a little better. All in all, this park offers nice nature walks, a bit of hiking, play for a day, or run around on the wide open grass spaces. It's a park with something for everyone.

WONDERFUL PARK!! I love this park. It is well maintained and has enough parking spots. There are plenty of amenities: playground, water fountain, tennis courts, bocce ball courts, volleyball court, Frisbee golf course, softball fields, horseshoes courts, etc. And plenty of tables, benches, and shades make it a perfect place to do a birthday party or any gatherings. We've done a company summer picnic here a couple of times in the past. I'm not sure how many shelters they have, but it is free to use. But you need to reserve it in advance! Our company (about 30 people and their families) has reserved a shelter, catered food, and rented a bounce house for the little kiddos. The parks & recreation staff were great! They were very flexible and accommodating.

Perfect way to start the day by running along the river .

Beautiful Park. With paved walkways. Love the signs telling about the birds. Wish they would do the same for the trees.

I just love how everyone is doing their own thing, whether that's walking, strolling, biking, fishing, kayaking or even surfing! Yes that's right, there's a section where you can actually surf the stream.. how cool is that?! There a signs at the entrances that remind people not to be a "speed demon" and also signs warning about blind curves, which I very much appreciated. We rented those Lime electric scooters and were able to scoot nearly the entire path, which felt so epic and fun. Of course, we were mindful of pedestrians, bikes and foot traffic. One of my favorites parts of the path was when went past the Boise Zoo and saw not just one, but too giraffes poking their heads up at the trees. They were ginormous and even seems to acknowledge us with curious eyes and ears. What a special treat to have such an open, accessible and convenient public space right in the heart of a city!

From parks like Ann Morrison to Boise State's campus to where you drop in the river for floating at Barber Park. There is plenty to do along the Greenbelt. It is always fun to plan days going from hot spot to hot spot on a bike or on foot. Discovery park mixes all the fabulous things of a traditional park with educational pieces about Idaho. The play structure is great. It has usual bits like slides and nets to climb, but it also has funky bridges, musical components and a variety of ladders. There are two very long zip lines with the attached seat, making it perfect for all ages. (Yes even my 32 year old husband thought it was amazing) There are these super fun roller slides that are fun for older kids to try and climb, but also littles who don't like to go too fast on a slide. I love that this is the rubberized surface. When you have an early walker, this is the best type of park to go to. Behind the play structure is the best part of this park. They have a water feature to help kids learn about Idaho rivers! Kids can play in the sand, dig ditches and levies and divert water streams. There is also a traditional splash pad around the side. There are three covered picnic areas, large bathrooms and plenty of parking. This is a wonderful new park addition to our community!
