An amazing large park with multiple water ponds, a variety of flowers and trees, and multiple activities. Wether you practice one of the water board sports or you just watch, it's a fun environment to spend a day out in nature minutes away only from downtown Boise. You can also bike, run, walk or just sit on one of the benches and enjoy nature. I highly recommend this park.

What a GEM this park is! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful space in our city. There are SO many trails, swimming areas, and always something new to see. It is always immaculate & people are friendly. I personally love to ride Lime Scooters around and check everything out. You can rent SUPs, kayaks, and they have life jackets. My kiddos love the beach that has the dock area. They will jump off all day long! Fresh air & such beauty! I am very thankful for this space!

    Construction well under way.

This is the latest of the "Ribbon of Jewels," a series of Boise riverside parks named for prominent local women, in this case, arts benefactor Esther Simplot. The Simplot family, through the Simplot family foundation, is paying for development of the 55-acre park, located next to Quinn's Pond and the wave shaper along the river. The park will include 17 acres of ponds that will be suitable for swimming, wading and fishing. There will be hiking trails, open grassy areas, a playground, bridges, boardwalks, docks, wetlands and restrooms. A twisting stream will connect Quinn's Pond to two ponds in Simplot Park. This will end up being one of Boise's most popular parks and will likely increase development along the Whitewater Boulevard portion of the West End neighborhood.

Beautiful landscape! Good for a stroll anyday. Bridges, wooden deck, sand, lake, grass, snow, trees, picnic tables, playground, restroom, it is a great place to relax, play, and get together with friends and family. Get some exercise done while breathing in fresh air, yes please!

This park, although man made is quite scenic. There's so much to see. It should be great for summer. The pond is so pretty and blue. There's little beaches around the pond. It's quite spacious. The Greenbelt connects the park nicely. It's a new, family friendly, dog and bike friendly place to take a breather. Lucky for me it's only a ten minute bike ride from my place. Yay!

I just love how everyone is doing their own thing, whether that's walking, strolling, biking, fishing, kayaking or even surfing! Yes that's right, there's a section where you can actually surf the stream.. how cool is that?! There a signs at the entrances that remind people not to be a "speed demon" and also signs warning about blind curves, which I very much appreciated. We rented those Lime electric scooters and were able to scoot nearly the entire path, which felt so epic and fun. Of course, we were mindful of pedestrians, bikes and foot traffic. One of my favorites parts of the path was when went past the Boise Zoo and saw not just one, but too giraffes poking their heads up at the trees. They were ginormous and even seems to acknowledge us with curious eyes and ears. What a special treat to have such an open, accessible and convenient public space right in the heart of a city!

It quite literally runs along the river and is absolutely stunning all the way through. From parks like Ann Morrison to Boise State's campus to where you drop in the river for floating at Barber Park. There is plenty to do along the Greenbelt. It is always fun to plan days going from hot spot to hot spot on a bike or on foot. It's also great to spend some time kicking it by the river at one of the Greenbelt's many hang out areas, especially during the summer.

Discovery park mixes all the fabulous things of a traditional park with educational pieces about Idaho. The play structure is great. It has usual bits like slides and nets to climb, but it also has funky bridges, musical components and a variety of ladders. There are two very long zip lines with the attached seat, making it perfect for all ages. (Yes even my 32 year old husband thought it was amazing) There are these super fun roller slides that are fun for older kids to try and climb, but also littles who don't like to go too fast on a slide. I love that this is the rubberized surface. When you have an early walker, this is the best type of park to go to. Behind the play structure is the best part of this park. They have a water feature to help kids learn about Idaho rivers! Kids can play in the sand, dig ditches and levies and divert water streams. There is also a traditional splash pad around the side. There are three covered picnic areas, large bathrooms and plenty of parking. This is a wonderful new park addition to our community!

The event is right along the Boise Greenbelt, so you can stroll through all the incredible art vendors and then enjoy a walk around the large, beautiful park. Fun fact: Julia Davis Park is the oldest park in Boise, established in 1907, and it's still one of the city's most popular gathering spots. There were so many vendors with a big variety of artwork, with something for every taste. I even found the perfect gift for my step-dad-in-law: a mountains and sun piece made out of different kinds of rocks. If you're an art lover, this event is a must-go-to. Another bonus is how easy it is to explore the area. You can rent e-bikes and e-scooters nearby to cover more ground. And every time we go, we always stop to see the giraffes at Zoo Boise, which is right next to the park. It makes for a full day of art, nature, and fun.
