    Duck/fishing pond

Great fun! This park is nearby my home and we frequently ride our bikes to enjoy the scenery. As you can see, the pond is quite relaxing and I like to watch the ducks. Many families are out and about enjoying their day, passing the time fishing or throwing horseshoes or playing tennis! This park offers many different types of activities and has good parking and access. There's so much to do while at Settlers Park, that every trip is a new adventure!

Smaller play set for smaller people

This is a really cool park. Tons of unique features, HUGE, and very popular with the small humans. This place goes way beyond the typical swings and slide park. It has rock climbing walls, musical instruments, tire swings, handicap accessible swings, a huge splash pad, massive fields, tennis and pickle ball courts, plenty of seating and tons of concrete for kids to practice their bikes and scooters. One of my most favorite things is the rubberized surface under the play structure. This makes it ideal for beginning walkers. However, in the heat of the summer...that black color is BRUTAL. It is seriously 10 degrees hotter in the play structure area than on the concrete or grass. This is still a newish park so the trees are medium sized. But what really needs to happen is that HUGE sun sails can be strung across the whole structure. I've seen it done in California and Arizona when we've visited there and it's a must for our Boise summers. The splash pad is great. Wide and open which makes it seem slightly less chaotic when 50 day camp kids are running around. This is another reason why I had to give Settler's 4 stars...it is so dang crowded in summer. It's a great park so everyone loves it! It just makes me hesitant to bring multiple children when I'm the only (semi) responsible adult. This is not a "sit and relax while my offspring run around" kind of park. You really have to stay vigilant if your kids are under 5.

Settlers Park has a splash pad, 8 toddler swings, swings, playground, sound garden and more.

What Settler's Park lacks in the natural beauty of the parks along the Green Belt, it more than makes up for in being toddler friendly. The Adventure Island Playground includes eight toddler swings (most parks only have two to four) a toddler-sized play set with slides and a tunnel, and a "sound garden," as well as regular swings and a larger play set for older children. Instead of the usual wood chips, the playground has rubberized mulch. (I prefer rubberized mulch in general but be advised that it does get hot in the summer.) The "splash pad" is a great way to introduce your toddler to water before trying out a local pool or water park. One of our fifteen month old sons loved playing in the water, the other, not so much. To other parents with smaller children, just be cautious of the larger buckets of water that occasionally tip to the delight of older children. Shade is limited, as are benches so bring a blanket and a big umbrella if you have one. The park has a concession stand.

Awesome large park.. a small oasis for locals. Cute pond with lots of ducks and sitting benches (you can also fish here). Huge, nice playground. Splash pad open in summer. Very large open grass areas, well maintained. Attached tennis courts (or bachi ball.. whatever that's called). Only downside is how crowded the playground portion can get on a weekend with nice weather, especially when it's hot and the splash pad is open. Parents please stop letting your soaking wet kids run all over the playground portion straight from the splash pad and go on the equipment.. watch them better.. it's rude to have them getting everyone else wet who didn't go there for the splash pad and it's dangerous to have them spreading water all over the playground and equipment. Only reason for four stars is the large summer crowd. All in all, lovely park!

The only thing missing from this park is more shade. Otherwise it's pretty awesome. It has a water play area that isn't too intimidating with only big water dumps but smaller sprinklers too. There is a little kids area, a rock climbing area, a preschooler area with a pirate theme that focuses on balance, climbing and running. There are multiple swing sets and a gigantic lawn to run on.

Most comprehensive park ever. Huge play area for bigger kids. Musical instrument area. Little kid play area. Tennis courts. Pond with ducks. Splash pad. Literally the best park in the Boise area.

Wow is all I can say. I miss living in Meridian. This park has everything from a jungle gym area for the kids, small water feature area for the kids, new baseball fields, new tennis courts, horse shoe pits, stocked fishing pond and a nice track around the whole park ( I heard it is a 1 mile track but I have never confirmed). During the summer months, the city will put on movies in the park on a big screen on Friday nights for a fun family gathering. One of the nicest parks I have been too.

I just found out that there are movies in the park on Friday. I love this place even more now!

This park is FANTASTIC! it's set up to be accessible to all children, lots of great features on the playground (which is huge). my kiddos played for hours without getting bored with the playground. there is also a splash park in the summer, sports fields, and a catch&release fishing pond. there's bathrooms but we haven't needed to visit the facilities yet so no info on cleanliness there.

We love the movie nights in the park during the summer! The playground is so large that it's difficult to keep a close eye on multiple kids.

Discovery park mixes all the fabulous things of a traditional park with educational pieces about Idaho. The play structure is great. It has usual bits like slides and nets to climb, but it also has funky bridges, musical components and a variety of ladders. There are two very long zip lines with the attached seat, making it perfect for all ages. (Yes even my 32 year old husband thought it was amazing) There are these super fun roller slides that are fun for older kids to try and climb, but also littles who don't like to go too fast on a slide. I love that this is the rubberized surface. When you have an early walker, this is the best type of park to go to. Behind the play structure is the best part of this park. They have a water feature to help kids learn about Idaho rivers! Kids can play in the sand, dig ditches and levies and divert water streams. There is also a traditional splash pad around the side. There are three covered picnic areas, large bathrooms and plenty of parking. This is a wonderful new park addition to our community!

We were one of the first three original model homes for the Champion Park subdivision and 12 years later, we're still here. The park has really matured from the time it was simply a dirt rectangle. First came the saplings and then the grass. Shortly thereafter, a playground was installed. Later, fencing around the peripheral of the park closed the park to the backyards of the many home owners. The basketball court and picnic shelter came in and lastly the doggie bag holders and multiple trash receptacles completed the parks accessories. I never thought about checking into my park. I naturally assumed someone had a created a Yelp listing for it but that was not the case. So one early morning Saturday, I went to check into my park and it wasn't found on Yelp. I decided take action and give Champion Park it's Champion due. It's a great park that's home to any number of dog walkers and folks who simply want a stroll. The berms and grass is politely manicured and everyone who takes care of the park does so with such care. A couple of reminders. Park is open from dawn to dusk. Once the sun goes down, park is closed No Smoking on the park grounds. I wish this was enforced a little more Dogs have to be on a leash and you have to pick up after your pooch. Again this needs to be enforced more as well Lastly in the NE corner of the park is a irrigation pond, please do not let your kiddos and your dogs go swimming in there. It's really not clean. Oh by the way don't throw rocks into the pond or near the wildlife. Take a championship stroll through Champion Park. You'll feel like you won the Super Bowl.
