Many many memories and sometimes lately it's just a nice getaway from all the emails, Teams calls, and crazy noise of the world.

Yes, there are two - one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs. Not only that, but we also walk them around the full park until they've had enough exercise. Discovery is a HUGE park with baseball fields, dog parks, a skate and biking park, plus a well-built and fun play area for kids. I'm pretty sure we walked by a huge sand pit for kids to plain too! It's loaded with things to do, and we highly recommend it!! It's clean, beautiful, and offers a huge variety of things to do!!

Discovery park mixes all the fabulous things of a traditional park with educational pieces about Idaho. The play structure is great. It has usual bits like slides and nets to climb, but it also has funky bridges, musical components and a variety of ladders. There are two very long zip lines with the attached seat, making it perfect for all ages. (Yes even my 32 year old husband thought it was amazing) There are these super fun roller slides that are fun for older kids to try and climb, but also littles who don't like to go too fast on a slide. I love that this is the rubberized surface. When you have an early walker, this is the best type of park to go to. Behind the play structure is the best part of this park. They have a water feature to help kids learn about Idaho rivers! Kids can play in the sand, dig ditches and levies and divert water streams. There is also a traditional splash pad around the side. There are three covered picnic areas, large bathrooms and plenty of parking. This is a wonderful new park addition to our community!

Every year in April, my family and I participate in the MS Walk at Kliener Park. The MS Society…read morehas been hosting the walk at this park for several years now. It's the perfect venue for the walk. There are some walkers who have Multiple sclerosis so the fact that the paths are so easy for their walkers, mobility carts and wheelchairs help them out a lot. Having a nicely paved path for them is so important. I appreciate that there's so many things to do and see at the park. The walking trail of course. The big playground for the kiddos. The big water fountain to sit and chill by. The wildlife having babies and seeing them hanging out at the park. It's hard not to get sidetracked during the walk to look at all the ducklings. Kliener Park is so beautiful and clean. There's always a grip of people here all the time. It's great! People are out, enjoying the sun and getting in some physical activity. I wish I lived closer to this park. I would love to ride my bike down here just to get some fresh air and sun. I do look forward to coming back soon. Hopefully before next year's walk.

This is a really great public space that straddles the line between Boise and Meridian. It is…read moretucked back from all main road traffic and located right next to a school. My oldest, "Hungry" was SO excited that there was a bonus playground. The farther you get from Boise's downtown epicenter, the harder it is to find parks with decent shade. This park proves that wrong. The whole playground is surrounded by large trees which provide much needed shade for the fiery playground equipment on a Boise July afternoon. They have 4 bucket swims and 4 "big kid" swings, plenty of climbing structures, slides and room to run. The shaded grass goes right up to the play structures, which is ideal for the parent who wants to park the "Hurricane" baby on a blanket in the shade and still (loosely) monitor the other kid. This park also backs up the West YMCA, so expect to see day camp kiddos running around doing science-y, athletic-y, hilarious things in the park as well. When I was there, a whole horde of them were playing Harry Potter, complete with robes, twig wands and "Eat SLUGS Malfoy!" They were so entertaining, I didn't even bury my face in my phone.

If I had known about the bats, I would've visited sooner. This park has stocked ponds and fishing. I was there for almost 2 hours. All of these photos are taken in sequence with the intention of giving you a sense of what it's like to walk through the park and loop around to the sidewalk that runs down Maple, then re-enter the park and exit. My in laws have found the ultimate cheat code a few years back and eat lunch here every week with…read morethier friends. I have been to Scentsy Commons to take dance photos for our kids. But today, today I got to check out the café. I got an invite to have lunch with my MIL and her girl gang. Of course I couldn't say no. Unfortunately we came on a day that a lot of the staff wasn't in. So, a portion of the café was closed. I guess thier entrée selection at lunch is on point. And the day I decided to come was the day I couldn't check it out. It's all good! We made do with what was available. My MIL and her girlfriends headed towards the salad bar. I decided on a burger. The chef that was working was so kind! I got a double patty bunless burger with cheese. I asked for it to be freshly made and made well done. "Piece" of cake the chef said and started on my burger. I would have loved to add the lettuce, tomato and pickles but unfortunately I couldn't since it was available to everyone. But I'm always down for just the patties with extra cheese. While my burger was being made, I got to check out the venue downstairs. I love the dim lights that are hung in another part of the area. It's so romantic and cozy. There were a couple spots for food and I believe coffee. I didn't want to be gone too long but it's cool I got to peep it out. I'll have to see if it's coffee shop next time. An afternoon caffeinated beverage is always a good idea. I headed back and grabbed my burger. It looked fabulous! The gentleman that checked me out was kind and grabbed me a fresh set of plastic ware since I can't really use communal. I appreciate how kind they both were. My burger was extra cheesy and really well done. It was a little dry but ketchup, mustard and relish took care of that problem. I needed it well done so it wasn't on the chef. It just had to be cooked that way. And I ate the whole thing. Lunch was chill with my MIL and her friends. I did get to peep out all the huge Scentsy buddies on the way out. Who needs a bed when you can just rally a few of those buddies and pass out. I would in a heart beat! I just need 3 and my bed would be complete. I have yet to check out the lights during the holidays. That's on my to do list this Christmas. I look forward to experiencing it. This venue is so pretty, the landscaping here is always on point. The staff that helped me today was so kind. I look forward to coming back to have another burger and see what other goodies I can check out.

My only "complaint" is the proximity to the racetrack-- I took my pups there on a Saturday and I'm guessing there were either races going or just practice, but it was very loud, including a lot of backfiring of the cars. Most of the dogs didn't seem to mind, but my little one (who's scared of fireworks and that kind of thing) did end up being scared and just sitting by me. All in all, they had a great time, just might be more aware of the going's on at the racetrack before taking them :)

I've seen several people vaping there. A large dog was brought into the small dog side and knocked a woman down. She couldn't walk, nor drive. Meridian needs some police presence and giving out fines to stop the abuse of this beautiful dog park.
