To start, it was great! I love that there are separate areas for the big dogs and the small ones. Both spaces were nice and big, plenty of space for the dogs to run and play. My only "complaint" is the proximity to the racetrack-- I took my pups there on a Saturday and I'm guessing there were either races going or just practice, but it was very loud, including a lot of backfiring of the cars. Most of the dogs didn't seem to mind, but my little one (who's scared of fireworks and that kind of thing) did end up being scared and just sitting by me. All in all, they had a great time, just might be more aware of the going's on at the racetrack before taking them :) read more

Unfortunately, I'll need to drop a star. 90% of dog owners let the dogs off leash outside of the enclosed area. 50% of the owners don't pick up their dog droppings. I've seen several people vaping there. A large dog was brought into the small dog side and knocked a woman down. She couldn't walk, nor drive. Meridian needs some police presence and giving out fines to stop the abuse of this beautiful dog park. read more

The dog play area is fenced and there is a double fence at the gate area to keep dogs from getting out. Great dog park! This park is divided into two sections, one for smaller/shy dogs and one for all the rest of the puppers. Both sections are large and well equipped. There is grass, sand and pea gravel here aling with some cement pathways. The three kiddie pools always had a beastie or two splashing around, and the expanse of grass was long enough for a good run. The people for the most part were friendly and engaged with all of the dogs. There are always a handful of humans who don't pay attention to their dogs; there were only one or two of these that I noticed here, which was a nice change. I look forward to bringing my pup here every chance we get. read more

This park is tucked away behind the racetrack and near the baseball fields! Once we located it, we were very excited to see all the agility equipment! All the dogs were very well behaved, and the one doggie scuffle that occurred the owners were quick to correct and redirect which was awesome! One complaint was that some of the owners weren't watching their dogs close enough to pick up their dogs poop. Wasn't an insane amount, but was still a lot all over the place. I don't think it would have been as bad if the gated off grass was open, then it would have been more spread out and away from the agility equipment. Plenty of parking. Nice dogs. We love this dog park! We moved here in November and are anxiously waiting for the grass side to open but we frequent Storey about 3x a week or so. I will say there are occasionally a few fiesty dogs but luckily with the huge baseball fields next to this park if things start to get rowdy I'll take my dog over to the grass fields and walk him around there. The people there are the worst! I've been going here for the past 8 months because it's so close to my house but the past three times I've gone there it's the same group of people. They are just very territorial over the park and think they own it. I wouldn't suggest going unless you want to get chirped at if your dog is energetic or barks. Well planned and designed, Storey Bark Park offers a great, fenced space for canine fun. The park is separated into two areas. There is the larger area that welcomes dogs of all sizes and then a smaller area that is specifically for smaller breeds. In the large area, there's a covered area with picnic tables where you can hang out while your pup has fun running and playing with other dogs. There's an agility course for those whose dog needs a working challenge, fresh water, and plenty of plastic bags for picking up doggie messes. While I'm a fan of facility and the fact that the Meridian Parks & Rec conspired to create such a space--I was a little disappointed in the lack of canine supervision by dog owners. Many sat or stood in the covered area, chatting while their dogs ran around virtually unsupervised. I get it--it's a fenced area. It's easy to disregard the need to keep watch. But, while I was there I witnessed a couple of aggressive dogs go unchecked by their humans and three other dogs leave messes that were left un-scooped by their human companions. Of course, this isn't the fault of Meridian Parks & Rec--the rules are clearly stated upon entrance (clean up after your dog, no aggressive dogs). It was none-the-less disappointing. Wonderful spaces like this are made great by those that utilize them--a little responsibility and good citizenship goes a long way. Hopefully, I just caught it on an off day and such behavior is the exception, rather than the rule. read more

Brand new dog park for Meridian. Opened 8/12/15. Been there twice and the dogs loved it. Sectioned into two areas, one for bigger dogs and one for smaller and older dogs. Areas have gravel, artificial turf, and real grass for the furries. Plenty of room in either section to throw a ball and for them to run. There are even real fire hydrants for the males to mark on. Water fountains for human and dogs are provided. Plenty of dog bag dispensers with widely spaced garbage cans to place the filled bags into. Please watch your dog and police up after them. They have made it easy to do this. Each area has a covered picnic table area and benches along the walkways. Walkways and parking lots are paved and wheelchairs can use them easily. Restrooms are easily accessible and meet handicapped standards. This weekend, the weather was cooler and the attendance was huge. Many dogs and kids and adults. No aggressive dogs were noted and play and running was the order of the day. Great way to socialize a dog who has not had much chance to be with other dogs and people. Just watch your dog if it is new to this experience and be prepared to leash and remove it it gets too defensive or offensive. (It is highly advised to not bring un-neutered males into the dog park , but not forbidden. Use extra caution.) Congratulations to Meridian Parks for this fine addition to their parks. One of the best in the Boise area and beats any of the Boise Dog parks. No bark chips means no splinters in the dogs' paws. And real dog pickup bags means no "holy" recycled grocery bags. read more

Took my new pup to the small dog side of the Storey Bark Park in Meridian and was very impressed! I love that they have a special place for the little guys and there was plenty of access to water from the hose, dishes, and little pools. Real and artifical grass for the dogs to run on, agility structures and other features. My favorite part was the short water fountain for the small dogs and the sidewalk that went around the park for the people to walk with their dogs. Will definitely be back! read more

Great dog park. Things to know when going to this park. No ones running the park, which means you are responsible for your dog. No dogs in heat allowed= if your dog isn't spayed there may be unwanted surprises in your future. No one is there to clean up your dogs poo, so be a friend and help clean up. The main entrance is where everyone hangs out, this means there is a high potential for a dog fight. Enter from the side to reduce this risk. If your dog is a jerk, be aware of that, dog parks are great for socialization but not the cure. So stay off your phone and help your dog make friends, who knows you might too. This is open to the public, not everyone is vaccinated, so enter at your own risk. This goes for your dog too! All and all my family of dogs really enjoys this great park, keep up the good work City of Meridian! read more

We were the only ones in the small park, It has a mixture of artificial Turf, compacted sand, and real grass, path to walk all around with benches to sit along the path. After trudging along to Morris Hill dog park for several years and dealing with the bark ( not the speaking type ) and the lack of concern of the doggies caretakers we don't have to go there any more. What's even better we don't have to sneak into the baseball diamonds at Settler's Park to let our Siberian Husky run. Not any more. We came across the Storey Bark Park by a fluke accident. We were looking for information in regards to the dog splash day where doggies can go and use the pools in Boise and Meridian when I had to see a web link to the Storey Bark Park. Even though I clicked on it, I still didn't believe it existed. We put our Siberian Husky in the back of our CRV and went over to the Bark Park. There's plenty of parking and there are two parks. One for little dogs and one for big dogs. The space is beautiful with shelters for people and there is even a concrete walk way where you can walk with your dogs without a leash. There is real grass and fake grass and gravel for the playground. There are ramps and obstacle sticks if you and your pup are into that sort of thing. There's a water pump and kiddie pool as well. Kody, our husky was so excited. He checked everyone's Facebook status with a quick sniff to the butts and started to gallop in the open spaces. To see our husky run in the wide open space is simply majestic. There's really no other word for it. There's plenty of pooper scooper bags and trash cans to take care of those need to go moments. First dog park I've been to and I wish I had my dog! I was just waiting here (like a creep) while my ride was coming.. 3 hours later- but I would definitely recommend this park! It was big, and so clean. I was surprised it wasn't all dirty and stinky, but people come in and let their dogs run their little hearts out and play! I was there on a Friday at 12-3 and there was a lot there too- They have a little pool, a hill, water, rocks, other dogs etc. everyone cleaned up after themselves. They had more than enough benched in the sun and under cover. They also had a gate that separated big and little dogs (is what I assumed) in case you want your smaller dogs away from big ones. That area was a little smaller but just as nice! And there were small dogs with the big dogs too and there wasn't any problems. Just know dogs can be dogs. Some don't get along and stuff happens- bringing your animal to a dog park does put them at risk for anything to happen and you can't be overly protective when you let them run free with 15 other dogs. read more

Great park. Great location. There are multiple benches to sit on while you sit back and watch your fur babies having a blast. There's even a covered spot to sit away from the sun. They have real grass and artificial turf. The real grass is important for us. Dogs don't have much fun in wood chips. They like real grass to run and play on. The turf seems to keep things clean and not smelly. They have water bowls, a pool, and sections for small and big dogs. They also have outdoor restrooms that always seem to be in great shape. My small dogs love going here where the dogs are similar in size. They start whining and crying in excitement as soon as we are down the street because they know where they are going. We are thankful this place exists and come often. read more

The park looks amazing. It has it all: big area, water fountains, benches, bag stations, etc. The nicest dog park i've ever been to. Indeed, I really don't like this place. It gets super busy. I am talking about 30-40 dogs in the evenings. People bring small dogs to the big dogs area, female dogs in heat, food, small kids are being unsupervised. People don't watch their dogs as they get into the fights, and most don't pick up after their dogs. Don't like this place. Love this park, there's a small dog area which is great for our 20lb ball of joy. I would give this place five stars if it weren't for the people that came in without a dog and tossed a ball around and got mad at my pup for wanting to play with them. They proceeded to get upset at him and so we ended up having to leave due to their selfishness, even though we were using the park as it was meant to be used. Gladly will be returning, but hopefully they won't! read more

This is the best dog park around! My dog loves it. It gives him the opportunity to be off leash and socialize with other dogs. Most of the dogs are friendly!
