This is a good read for anyone considering a guided fishing trip with Dream on the Fly. So, yes, no experience. I felt like the Karate Kid with his teaching technique. Presentation, mending, drifting, pointing the rod tip at the indicator, watching the indicator, casting and feeling the weight for whipping. It is pretty complicated, but his technique really helped me grasp the process and I felt pretty confident after an hour or so. I learned the hard way once or twice about respecting the power of these river trout. They are good sized and put up enough fight to break a line pretty easily. LET THEM RUN WHEN THEY FIGHT! Don't force them in too fast. Take your time, but keep your rod up and line tension tight. The scenery at The Owyhee River is gorgeous. In all, you will learn a lot with them about the river, fly fishing, and Idaho if you are a traveler. Great experience. We had some great catches and I learned so much. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great fishing trip!

Update: 8/23/2019…read more Haley Squires called me. She's the CBS reporter covering the Fletchers. She said the Idaho AG filed the complaint and the Fletchers were notified and offered a settlement which they declined, opting to go to court. There is not court date yet but the Idaho court tracker is updated with the information. So the case number is CV01-19-12217. You'll enter that where it tells you to when you follow this link: https://mycourts.idaho.gov/odysseyportal/Home/Dashboard/29 Update: 7/3/2019: Just got a phone call from the reporter in Boise who told me that Idaho Attorney General'sfiled their cases against the Fletchers in court today!!! Hello, just an update: We have a claim in with the state of Idaho office of the Attorney General. We received a letter from them stating that they are looking into the matter. I would highly encourage anyone else who got frauded by this company to make a claim with the AG office. We filed a small claims court in Ada County, ID. If enough of you file too, we could get something done here. If you'd like more info, send me a PM over social media. Justin Fordice Update 12/5/2018: I wanted to let you know that I also have filed a small claims court with Ada County Idaho regarding our pursuit of litigation against Craig Fletcher. We also have filed in Idaho attorney generals office claim for the fraudulent activity. The long and short of the situation was that he donated an AK fishing trip to a veterans organization banquet for which we bid on and won and then offered us a sweet deal to take my family along on the trip for which we paid an additional fee for that. Like everyone else, he bailed on the trip and did not give a refund. There are multiple other people who have contacted me that have worked for him as a staff members but also have been ripped off by him in canceling trips and not providing refunds. These are facts. Below is a list of addresses that I have found that were his previous or potentially current residences: Possible current address is 351 Live Oak Loop, Central Point, OR Possible former addresses: 176 W Claire Street, Meridian, ID 69 Castle Mountain Drive, Garden Valley, ID 8230 Ustick Road, Nampa, ID 176 West Claire St. Meridian, ID Hopefully, if enough people go on the hunt for him using the above addresses, we can find him and get him served with the proper paperwork so he can meet us in court. Justin

My first time in Boise, visiting a lifelong friend, we hired Mike Raymondi to be our guide on the…read moreOwyhee River for a day of catch and release trout fishing. The three of us, retired women with modest fishing experience and a love for nature, instantly felt at ease as he selected the waders, boots and gear in the well-organized TRR store in Eagle ( when you go there, look up, you'll have a fish's point of view- watery blown glass ornaments suspended from the ceiling). We followed Mike's truck to the river where he selected a sweet spot clear of snags and sunken hazards. The birds and awe-inspiring panoramic beauty made focusing on the orange indicator a bit of a challenge. Mike gave us a quick and articulate tutorial on casting, mending and setting the lines, then he spaced us out on the length of the river where he grew several sets of eyes, simultaneously guiding our line work and alerting us to the bobber's behavior, which you see before you feel anything. I missed several nibbles because I saw a tanager or a flicker, but we all hooked and I landed a big brown trout with lovely speckles and no wounds from the brief fight we had in reeling it in. The big takeaway about a good or bad day fishing, according to Mike, is this: hooking and landing combine a multitude of very different skills, and many people who say the fishing was bad, missed the nibble or the set, and failed to catch what fish were there. To me, there is no bad day of fishing if you are in the care of a competent guide, supplied with proper gear, a spectacular picnic lunch (kudos to Tasso in Eagle) and in an exceptionally beautiful piece of God's country, which was the case for us. Now for those of you who believe the only value in fishing is catch, catch, catch, this review will mean nothing. Mike mustered all of his powers to switch out the types of nymph flies (we were nymphing this time), and we had a spare afternoon, but you can't make fish eat when they don't wish to. Nonetheless, we felt satisfied, happy and properly looked after by TRR's professional guide service.

They were great with a beginner like myself, who has gone fly fishing only one other time with them, all the way to my son who has fly fished several times. They gave my daughter & I, a quick, but detailed lesson before fishing. We both caught more fish than we could count. They were great with my husband & son too who caught nonstop fish. They know the River extremely well & the fishing spots, even better. They were fun, patient, knowledgeable, & funny. They provided the gear; & fitted us prior to going out on the water. The lunch was wonderful & we had a choice of bakery sandwiches, with pasta salad, cookies, & chips. This was a great experience & we plan to make it an annual trip.

I took my 14 year old son Isky on this trip and I knew it was going to be special, but I never anticipated anything this sublime. You are being guided through true wilderness in the high desert. Glorious dry sunshine along a pristine river, chock full of excellent, thrilling rapids, surrounded by mountains, fresh air and that occasional wild life spotting (in our case, a bear, 2 bald eagles, mountain goats, one small bobcat, and countless fish). Jarrett has assembled an A-team of guides that go above and beyond with smart, responsible mentorship, showing you the ropes, educating you with stories of the land (geography and history) and they are very interesting too. Mike is a super star, ex-navy pilot with an infectious energy and smile; Ty is a smart, super friendly Mechanical Engineering student from Arkansas, Rylee is a wildlife and animal wrangling expert who can catch and clean a fish faster than anyone, Leia rounds out the group making the everyone in the group feel taken care of and is always there to help you whether your gearing up, hungry, or just have a question about anything. Shout out to Loren (Jarrod's wife and partner) for preparing a virtual gourmet feast every day. There are no words to describe just how much effort and artistry goes into to the food prep. You will eat well and trust me that there is PLENTY of food, you won't be hungry. The stars on this experience are old world. You will never see space like you do on this journey. This is a 6 stars out of 5 experience. Do it now before corporate America takes over and spoils this untouched wilderness. It will change your life.
