I had a wonderful experience at Eagle Glen Optometry. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Dr Lieu took his time to explain every step of what he was checking and provide tips to improve comfort for all day contact wear. His staff went through what insurance covered and what it did not cover and provided the best option to go with as far as when it would be best to order my glasses/contacts. This was the optometrist I've been looking for!! Staff was wonderful and Dr. Lieu took his time helping me with my eye issues. I didn't feel rushed. I've been dealing with dry eye for years and even saw an ophthalmologist recently for it. Dr Lieu did a lot more investigating and asking many more questions than the other doctor I saw. It was night and day difference in the treatments prescribed. I'm so thrilled! I've got my new glasses on order along with prescription computer glasses which will make my work day a lot better with much less eye strain. Can't wait for them to come in! I've been going to Dr. Tony Lieu for all my eye care needs for over a decade. I've always received nothing less than the highest quality of eye care. I first met Dr. Lieu back around 2003 or 2004 when I worked at a location nearby and he asked if he could leave some flyers for his new office. Since I had just gotten vision insurance, I went to see him myself. From the beginning, I found Dr. Lieu to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable, and always worked with my insurance to make sure I got everything I needed. For the first few years, I either went with prescription glasses or opted for a contact lens consultation, which was sometimes challenging because my eye allergies were so bad. Nevertheless, Dr. Lieu found the best contacts my eyes (and wallet) could handle and recommended glasses for when it just got too bad. About 6 years ago, Dr. Lieu suggested Lasik. He told me about a new technology called Intra-lase that made the surgery much cleaner and heal better, and got me all the research I needed to make my decision. After I decided to go for it, he handled all the pre- and post-operation consultations and the surgery was a success! My vision is now a steady 20/15 and I couldn't be happier. I still go see Dr. Lieu for an annual checkup to make sure my eyes haven't changed with age and all the beatings I've taken from a lifetime of extreme sports (including motorcycles, MMA, snowboarding, etc.). I've also seen him in between my yearly visits if I've had any unexpected head injuries that have temporarily affected my vision. He's always been more than helpful. I currently take advantage of the 3d eye mapping so he can see if the inside of my eye has any changes. It's a little extra, but totally worth the peace of mind. I can't say I've ever had a bad experience. He has a gift for hiring great staff and I always leave there feeling like I just visited old friends. I got my contacts a few months ago and I finally feel normal again not having to worry about carrying eye drops with me everywhere I go. I visited this office because it was highly recommended. This was my second visit. I think it's highly recommended because Doctor gives back to the community. I can't think of anything else. The doctor talks a lot and says a whole lot of nothing. He doesn't have many answers. Upon speaking to another patient while waiting, she informed me the doctor tells everyone they have allergies and prescribes eye drops to many patients. She also aadvised me to be careful about added fees. She said something is always going wrong with their system or something or the other and patients are asked to pay out of pocket. Sure enough, added fees were added to my total. I declined to pay those fees as I was not advised by staff there would be any extra charges. This place is a joke and a rip off. Doctor doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. He kept getting stumped on the questions I asked about my vision problems. I definitely will not return, much less recommend. read more

I absolutely love this place! In January 2020, I got Lasik. It was awesome. But it also means you have to go regularly to get your eyes checked (at least once a year after the first year). During one of my visits, Dr. Lieu and I start discussing my headaches, neck pain, and tinnitus on the left side of my head. He checked my eye alignment, and we found out that my left eye has a mind of its own. That misalignment is know to cause all kinds of issues, so he prescribed Neurolens to me. They're special glasses that help align your eyes. Needless to say, I was not happy. I got Lasik to avoid glasses! Fortunately, the glasses are only necessary when I'm on my computer. The results of Neurolens? Amazing! My eyes have been extra blurry at the end of the day for years. Solved. My neck has been routinely sore on the left side for years. Solved. My headaches on the left side of my head. Solved. My tinnitus? No where in the documentation has it said this would be cured, and it has not. However, it has vastly improved. Now it comes and goes, instead of being constant. This gives me hope. I never would have thought that my eye misalignment could cause so much grief, but clearly it can. I've thought about writing this review and feel like it is necessary to share my experience. My husband, daughter and myself have all been treated at this office. Let me start by saying my husband has gone once, and informed he would not be going back, did not like his experience, reasoning is he felt the Dr. pressures you into spending more money, offers items not covered on issuance causing you to come out of pocket more than you should. I took that into consideration and have now made my opinion about this office as well. Unfortunately was not wrong...let's go back to my daughter real quick before I explain my experience. My daughter was prescribed Neuro Lenses which are not covered by insurance, it's was $750 out of pocket but was explained they would significantly help her headaches. We paid for them because who wouldn't want to help their child. Fast forward to my daughter wanting contacts...Dr suggested we purchase an additional set of Neuro Lenses but with out a prescription for her to wear along with the prescription contact lenses...said the contact would not be enough for the headaches, I declined and said let us see first if the contacts alone would be fine...Dr's demeanor changes at that point and I took note, but still scheduled an appointment for myself. PS the contacts were just fine without that second set of non prescription lenses and so glad I didn't pay another $750 out of pocket!!! Now for my appointment, the first one was fine...there was an issue I needed to come back for in 6 months due to some spots coming up on a scan done of each eye. At this second appointment, which ran way over in time than it should have because they couldn't get the proper pictures of my eyes to review...not sure what the issue was, but I will say the gal doing the scans was super nice but her frustration did show which I thought was a bit unprofessional but I completely understood and did not judge. Once all done, I went up to the front counter to make my co-pay which is usually $10 for vision and I knew there would be a slight additional charge but wasn't too worried. They tell me the total which wound up being over $100, shocked I asked why. The gal stated that this fell under my medical insurance and not vision, I asked nicely for an explanation as I had no idea to which the Dr interjects very defensively and states last time he did me a favor...Did me a favor?!?! Sir, you did me no favor in not explaining to a a patient the difference in exams and what would be vision and what would be medical..and for that, my family will not be back, and I would never recommend your establishment. If we chalked up everything you have tried to push our way to purchase, it is up past $1000 maybe more ...additional Neuro Lenses, Eye Warming Mask etc I appreciate that this office likes all the bells and whistles, but not everyone wants to come out of pocket that much, especially when it is not necessary, and you should probably think about your tone when someone asks a question because you made yourself look very arrogant. I am very thankful to have found Dr. Lieu after more than 25 years of suffering with dry eyes including regular deep eye pain nearly every morning. I've gone to several ophthalmologists who have prescribed Restasis and advised me to apply night gel and tape my eyes shut before sleeping, none of which worked. I would wake up put my hand over my left eye and just wait for the pain to go away. Not a great way to live. In 2020 my right eye started to lose vision; my eyes were so red I was embarrassed to go out. My ophthalmologist referred me to a specialist who said there was nothing he could do. My son encouraged me to look for a new doctor. I remembered a friend with autoimmune disease having Sclera lenses and looked for a Sclera provider. This is when I found Dr. Lieu who diligently worked to clear my dry eyes and restore my vision. He then fitted me for Scleral lenses. This was a life changing seven-month process. I am now pain free, have clear eyes and vision!!! read more

Super friendly staff!! I usually use yelp to help me know whether certain businesses are any good or not. Although they only have 4 stars I think they deserve 5 stars. Dr lieu's staff is super friendly and they helped me find contacts in my budget. I do have insurance but it only works In costco where my mom works ( I'm on her insurance) . But costco doesn't have some of the brands I do like or they have old models. At the Costco optometrist I felt very rushed and the staff at times seemed almost overwhelmed with patients. But at Dr lieu's I felt like he took the time to get to know me, answer my questions, and explained his findings. So I went from feeling "okay" with my old glasses to loving my new contacts. They are perfect and even though I had to sacrifice my insurance coverage for this place it was totally worth the sacrifice. People would often rather write bad reviews instead of positive reviews. I have been to several optometry offices in the past and I didn't know what I was missing! Very thorough and high tech evaluations. I had suffered for years with headaches and neck/shoulder/back pain to the point of seeking medical evaluation because I thought I had a tumor or something! Dr. Lieu was the first to recommend computer glasses and voila, pain gone! Why no other doctor recommended special glasses for me.... I don't know! Dr. Lieu spent time to educate me about my eyes like no one has ever done before. I spent $39 out of pocket for CT scan of my eyes, but when I have macular degeneration in my family, it was worth it to have a full understanding of the disease, what to look for, and how to best prevent it. Everyone in the office is extremely nice and professional. Yes, it takes a while to get an appointment, especially the later ones, but well worth the wait, so just plan ahead. My only complaint is that they didn't have a very large selection of glasses to choose from, so I feel like to had to settle for a so-so looking pair of glasses because there was nothing better. Absolutely the best care and expertise my family has ever experienced. My 16 year old daughter was born premature and has required glasses since she was 6 months old. Dr Lieu has been our optometrist for about 10 years and he still over delivers with exceptional skill and care. My daughter has mild cerebral palsy and is on the autism spectrum so she has some trouble with fine motor skills. Yesterday my daughter was fitted for the first time with contacts. Not only did Dr Lieu teach her how to insert and maintain her contacts he, adapted to her challenges and we were able to go home with confidence knowing she can handle managing her new contacts. I've been going to EG Optometry for years now. Dr. Lieu is always pleasant, professional and informative. His staff has always been warm, welcoming and helpful. I took my daughter there yesterday for an eye exam. While there, I was able to be seen as well for my annual eye exam bc they had a last min cancellation. Dr. Lieu and his team were so helpful, as many of the curious symptoms my daughter had been having, were addressed. He educated us both about how her misaligned eye sight was causing her headaches, light sensitivity and neck tension. We have been to the doctors on several occasions for just these symptoms. So happy to have found a potential solution, as we ordered special lenses to address her misalignment. Dr. Lieu seemed genuinely concerned and I appreciate the time he takes to talk with every patient ( I watched him do this with the woman before us, too). I had such a positive experience with Dr. Lieu. I've worn contacts since I was 13 years old and I've never had such a thorough examination/consultation with an optometrist until I met with Dr. Lieu. Optometrists usually exam quickly, don't give much input/advice/concern, and out the door you go. Dr. Lieu really took the time to give the best care. He noticed my eyes appeared a bit allergic to the contact solution I was using and my eyes were so much less dry/agitated after the change in solution. i made an appointment here because I recently moved to corona and had started seeing floaters. I'm 64 so it happens right? but still best to check it out. doc is Super nice & over-the-top friendly. i said, "I think I need popcorn and a soda for this show". i was fine until he started asking me if I slept with my doggie (of course I do) and then said he'd check for eye mites (um ? what??) and after checking said ok good no mites (fainting). them wants to show me the pics of my retina and I'm nauseated i don't do well with pics. Then, he says all looks good but I think hmmm yes lets send you for glaucoma testing (wait ? what? ). i had just moved to corona. my eye doctor for over 20 years had never once even remotely indicated glaucoma in my current or my future. he says your in the middle to slightly higher range so let's get it checked out. followed by you do have PPO ins right? i said no. i have HMO. now I'm told they don't take HMO for medical and he says he can provide me a referral letter. hmmm so shouldn't the office staff have known to ask and verify insurance ? i asked to pay and leave super uncomfortable at this point. doc follows me to checkout continuing to try and explain his process - I'm good I say. just want to pay and get out!!! he tells the office person no charge and I leave. i went back to where I had gotten a local eye exam 4 mos or so ago and the doc is so nice he does a full glaucoma eye exam. he says your normal so off your go. I'm 19 pressure and range is 10-21. I called my prior eye doc of 20+ years and asked the office staff to go back 5 years and give me my eye pressure #s. basically 19 every time. hmmmmmm read more

I generally check out Yelp Reviews prior to utilizing a business that is new to me however I did not in this case. Bad decision as I would have had a preview of what to expect from the other reviews previously posted. I selected Eagle Glen Optometry for a variety of reasons: 1. I travel all week for business and they are open every other Saturday for eye exams 2. They accept my insurance, Eyemed 3. I live in Corona and the location is 5 miles from my house so if I needed eyeglass adjustments it would be convenient. I set up my appointment 2 weeks prior and was called the Thursday prior to confirm the appointment. I arrived 5 minutes early and the receptionist Rick advised when I walked in that there would be a 45 minute wait. I asked Rick if it occurred to him to call me to advise of the wait so I could use my time wisely vs. sitting in Dr. Lieu's office cooling my heals. He said he did not know until 5 minutes before I arrived there would be such a long wait and assumed I would already be on my way - Rick, there are cell phone's. In addition there is a sign on the door that says "We accept Walk-ins". I surely hope this is not the same situation as the nail salon that accepts walk in's and in some cases makes their appointment clients wait. I chose to pass on waiting the 45 minutes for the exam or to reschedule the appointment as I do not support business or medical offices that disregard their clients time. Eyemed has a long list of other providers in the area - No need to accept poor service. read more

Words cannot describe how much praise I have for Dr. Lieu and staff. I have a very specific and difficult eye condition that could make me blind in the wrong hands. Since the beginning, Dr. Lieu and staff were like a 5 star hotel but for optometry. I found myself thanking them after every visit, because they were so much better than the 5-8 plus optometrists I have been to, even better than Ketchum School of Optometry! I seriously owe my quality of life to Dr. Lieu, I can function with great vision, prior I had headaches, pain, and poor advice.
