The folks over at Kolony Restoration did a great job on my hail damage roof claim. The owner,…read moreNaser Omer and his coworker Hasan, stopped by one day and chatted me up about the process and if I was interested. They were very professional and matter of fact, giving me all of the information I needed. There was no sales pressure at all. They climbed up on the roof and identified damage from the recent hailstorm. Based on their experience in finding sufficient damage, they believed I had a valid claim. They asked if I wanted to proceed with a claim and walked me through the process. After deciding to proceed with the project, they took over and the process could not have been simpler or less intrusive for me. They contacted the insurance company on my behalf and scheduled all the appointments after consulting with me about my availability for the inspection. The insurance adjuster came and looked at the roof and approved the claim for the new roof because of hail damage. Naser and his team discussed back and forth with the insurance company on my behalf to get any supplemental adjustments needed to finish the project correctly. I did not have to speak to the insurance company one time, which I really enjoyed. The owner Naser brought over a large collection of samples for color and type selection for the shingles and explained the scope of work for the project. We signed all the paperwork and scheduled a date. They had a large crew come out and finish the entire roof in two days. There was not a single piece of scrap or nail I could find in the yard after the project. The crew manager informed me they had to replace a few pieces of plywood due to damage, which the company threw in at no cost. The crew manager noticed a few other things that I could take care of on the roof and siding and gave me a couple recommendations for people or companies that can take care of those issues. I cannot recommend these guys enough for any exterior home projects. I look forward to working with them in the future when I start a new project.

We are on the third floor of a walk up condo, and we have a private rooftop deck. We started…read moregetting leaks in the ceiling in two places in our kitchen, and called about a half a dozen places in and around the city to come out and assess. The proposals were all over the place. Some companies said it couldn't be done without ripping off the rooftop deck and repairing everything. Some companies said it wasn't the roof at all, it was condensation inside the house? Jeff at Rollin Contracting was way more honest and practical in his assessment. He pointed out where he suspected the two leaks were coming from, but said that you never really know until you rip up the roof and move the air conditioner and take a look. He told us that roof repair was tricky, that the guys who said we might have to replace the whole roof could be right. But he wouldn't start with that, he would start with the less expensive approach. Granted, there was the risk that if it didn't work, we would have wasted that money when they re-did the whole roof, but we decided to gamble on a $2000 repair rather than jump into the $12,000 repair of the whole roof. Rollin Contracting was the only one who was honest and open and gave us options. He was also the one who was most confident in where he thought the leaks were coming from. It has now been one month since they repaired both potential sources of the leak, and neither of the leaks have come back. And in case you haven't been paying attention, we've gotten absolutely drenched this May. Meaning there is no doubt in my mind that they successfully fixed the leaks. The contractors that came to do the work were great, they didn't even enter the house. I offered to let them come inside to get to the rooftop, and they said they preferred to just go up and over to keep our house clean. While taking up the wooden boards on the rooftop deck to do the roof repair, they accidentally broke one of the boards. They went to Home Depot and replaced the board that day. Not a big deal, and super quick to fix it. Also, at the last minute (after we had signed the contract), I realized that I had forgotten to ask them about the fireplace, which also occasionally drips water during bad storms. I asked Jeff if he would have his guys look at the chimney to see if they could identify the source of the potential leak and to let me know what his recommendations were to have that fixed as well. He went ahead and had his guys caulk it while they were up there without even charging us. I know that's probably not a huge expense, but it was still a nice gesture to just throw that in. So across the board it was a great experience. Would definitely work with these guys again and recommend them with confidence.

We filed a compliant with the BBB for Rollin's failure to obtain necessary permits, workmanship…read morefailures and lack of professionalism. Please think twice before hiring this contractor - it will not be worth it if there are any uncertainties re: your project and they will say anything to get your job. We hired Jeff to perform some deck work for our three flat. Jeff quoted us $6K to replace certain posts and railings. One year later, additional work was clearly required because railings were loose and Jeff performed an additional $3K worth of work. At no time to Jeff represent himself as anything other than qualified to perform the work. Turns out he never even got a permit for the work. We were cited by the city for non-compliance shortly after his second round of work. He complied with fixing some of the issues identified. When he met with the inspector to review the work and confirm compliance, he essentially yelled, screamed, stormed off and refused to fix any of the additional work. We are now left with a deck that still needs work, $12K later. Jeff continues not to respond to emails/requests for him to finish his work. Jeff misrepresented his ability to do deck work according to city law and code. His unprofessionalism in resolving the issue that he created (he should have just said his people didnt do deck work maybe instead of doing a poor job and then getting upset when someone challenged him to do the work properly) was so disappointing. Do not work with this contractor.
