Food was amazing. Service was exceptional and the small town feel was fun. Highly recommend

16oz ribeye dinner.

Great service and the food was outstanding. Nice selection of beer and wine. The wife had the bacon broccoli jalapeño pasta. She added shrimp. Loved it! I had the 16oz ribeye. Holy moly. Cooked perfectly. We stop in baker city for this restaurant specifically.

Flat iron steak with mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli sides.

Road trip through here with our puppies. Reviews were very good so we decided to stop in. Greeted with friendly service and dogs allowed through restaurant for outdoor seating. Our server was very attentive and brought the dogs two water bowls and asked if she could bring bacon for each. That was awesome and we said yes. I ordered their steak salad which was delicious with yummy blue cheese dressing, pickled onions, mushrooms, broccoli, cheese, fresh greens and tender steak. Large portion too. Go box taken. We also got the flat iron steak with mashed potatoes, gravy and broccoli. Yum. No leftovers! The rolls and whipped butter were added bonus. Cute ambiance and so glad we stopped here. The local IPA beer from Barley's also delicious. Prices very fair and reasonable.

Stopped for lunch on my way back to Portland and had the best french dip I have ever had. Maybe a touch salty but so flavorful.

It sounded like something a tourist should do when you're staying in a little town like Baker. The diner is part of the motel next door which is also called the Oregon Trail. Both venues are kinda dated. I'm sure in it's prime it was fabulous! But eating at this venue was pretty cool. It was like stepping into an old school time capsule. We sat ourselves at a booth on the very left of the diner. It was probably one of the only booths where the seating wasn't all messed up. We were instantly greeted and given menus. I did creep on their online menu this morning but it was good to see what I might miss. I got the country breakfast. It had two eggs, 5 slices of bacon and I opted for fresh fruit instead of the hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and yolky in the middle. The fruit was super fresh! It was still on the unripe side but still sweet. The bacon was ok. It was slightly overcooked in the middle and chewy on the ends. It was quite the experience eating here. The servers are really nice and really good at making sure your coffee cup is always full! By the time we left, there was a good crowd of people coming in. It was cool to experience Baker's local diner. It was neat dining here with all the locals.

I said I can't drink it and opted for a margarita. Have no idea how u can screw up a margarita but it was not drinkable either. No sweetness. Just unlike any other I've ever had. Left that full as well. The charcuterie board app was great. But expensive. The other food was super mediocre. Just felt like it was middle of the line out of the freezer. Cute presentation. Very underwhelming. I can honestly say they're the most unenjoyable cocktails I've ever had. Our server acted like she couldn't care less if we were happy, or satisfied. She knew I sent the first drink back, saw the 2nd left full and didn't ask a single ? The whole experience was very lacking. Skip this place.

Server was excellent, very accommodating and considerate. They specialize in craft cocktails also. I had a Wallowa Riff, a tuned up Manhattan. Best Manhattan I have ever had. We had bacon wrapped dates, steak bites, risotto and for dessert a goat cheese cheesecake. Steak cooked perfectly, as was the broccolini. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you are anywhere near La Grande Oregon, you must stop there for dinner.

The Sirloin with 2 sides is only around $13 compared with almost double that on the dinner menu. Good specials on drinks too. Summer took great care of me. She's excellent. Even though baked potatoes aren't supposed to be ready that early she got me one. I got the lunch rib plate, which is a huge beef rib (although a little smaller than it used to be). It was mostly meat and not much fat. Way too much for me to eat, it provided lunch the next day as well. I brought home a burger to my wife, which was also cooked perfectly. It's a fun old-fashioned place to go to. Lots of animal heads on the walls and cowboy type things. This is in the old Sizzler right off the freeway and just into Oregon. They are owned by the same people as Indian Creek steak in Caldwell. Happy hour and lunch prices are very good, dinner prices can easily be $50 or more. their happy hour runs until 6 o'clock every day, which is great.

I just can't justify spending the money on a previous Sizzler environment. It's not fit for a "quick lunch" type of place. My opinion is that it just feels like they're struggling so they need to charge high to cover losses. I'd suggest building more menu items, at smaller portions to suit more palates and needs. Like maybe lunch specials. I know prices everywhere are just high in general, and eating out nowadays is a luxury, and I totally get they need to cover their costs as well, but sometimes you're willing to spend it when the environment is lovely and the food is great. This restaurant was not a place that I was pleased in spending this much for lunch. Most reasonable priced item was a nearly $20 burger that was definitely not worth the money. The fries are fresh cut but are just not great - flimsy fries do not excite me. The lunch menu selection in general is dismal. I just kept looking at the menu, hoping something would entice me but it's really just a steak or a burger option. Or chicken strips. Not many options, not many price points. The interior is a little sad too. It just doesn't feel like a nice place. I pulled up and assumed they were closed. The door that faces where you pull up is a closed side door, so you gotta walk around a smidge. Just wasn't inviting. The service was excellent and friendly and attentive. The servers and service are keeping it all together for sure.

What a cute place to find in the sleepy Saturday night town of Payette!…read more Downtown Payette is what Caldwell once looked like before investors went in and built more businesses. The streets are dark and very few places are open and that makes me sad because this could be such an adorable old town downtown vibe for locals! So don't miss this restaurant towards the end of Main Street and then hop across the street to Hammer Time for family fun with axe throwing! El Kamaron has done a great job with their interior decor, seating layout, has a full bar, and an extensive menu that includes quite a bit of seafood options! It's the Torres Mariscos that sold me on trying this place and it didn't disappoint! This is a menu item that you'd see regularly in a beach town in Mexico like in Nayarit, MX! It was loaded with shrimp, octopus, and crab. I was so excited to just eat the meats that I didn't even want crackers or chips. Just let me feast on the meats with the avocado, cucumber, onion and tomato and I'm in heaven! I'll be back for this item alone! I also ordered a holiday specialty drink called the cranberry Paloma and I loved it. It was beautifully presented with a dehydrated orange slice and floating cranberries with a Chamoy and Tajin rim. I tossed my straw to the side so I could enjoy each sip with the rim! The staff ate so lovely and friendly with smiles and always ask how you're doing and if you need anything! You order at the table but pay at the bar counter closest to the door. There were two birthday celebrations going on and each birthday baby (adults in their 60's) received a cute colorful shot in a champagne flute and the entire restaurant sang to them.
