    Sumpter Junction Restaurant

Happy to see the crew get this iconic restaurant reopened! It's been here for 40 years and the hospitality company that owns and operates it has been in business in Baker City for 43 years.

Eggs where over cooked. All in all it's pretty good

Eggs over cooked. Should be runny for a benidect. Good flavor. A little bit on big on portion size. All in all it's good for a small restaurant.

Good food and breakfast all day - need I say more?

Exceptional staff, good food, and a great environment. I stopped by this Baker City gem with a couple of friends on our way back to Portland after backpacking in Yellowstone National Park. Sumpter's felt like home away from home - just what we needed. Plus there is a model train that circles the entire restaurant...

This was a present surprise with the great food and they even have a train that circles inside the restaurant that is pretty fun. Lots of train memorabilia on the walls and about too. I ordered a burger, but can't remember the name of it, but it was very large and tasted great. It came with a salad and I could eat all of it so my wife helped with my salad. The price was VERY reasonable and I would come back here to eat anytime.

We are from California and we were on our way back from Idaho, and we randomly stop by here to fill up our tank of gas and go to the bathroom and then we found this diner across the street. It was charming with a little train tracks going through the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered chicken fried steak it was delicious. My niece ordered chicken fried bacon, yes I said bacon. And the cinnamon roll French toast absolutely the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Not to mention the gravy just been an added extra over the top gravy with so much flavor so good.

This was an unplanned stop during our trip from Boise to Seattle but I don't regret it. We arrived at around 1pm and were seated immediately. I got the Chicken fried steak, with two over easy eggs, two biscuits, and hash browns. The steak was tasty with a nice coating on the outside. The eggs were cooked properly to my requested doneness. The biscuits were average. The hash browns were fresh but not as crispy as I would have liked personally, if I go again I'll probably request them to be cooked extra crispy. My friend who got the pastrami jack melt with fries enjoyed his meal as well. I stole a few fries and really liked them. Overall I liked it and might stop by again if I'm in the area and looking for a meal.

Cute little train themed restaurant. We sat at a window table which I recommend because you got to watch the train go by. Also the have interesting trivia on each table for you to read through. Ok food. It's diner style and for what we got I was very satisfied. My sandwich was hot and tasty. I got the turkey Swiss avocado and the roll they used was not too soft and not hard. Everyone in our party seemed happy with what they got. Since I was on a road trip for this stop bathrooms were a big watch for me. 4 stars cause the bathroom was kinda gross and since they were busy it was a long wait. But for sure eat here if it's on your place to stop.

Food is great and the service was great as well. My taco Salad had no signs of ice burg lettuce only good greens!! The sandwiches were great I was told, 3 different styles of French dip! I will come back again when I come thru this town, the kids loved the train that circles the whole restaurant!!

After checking out a few places online, we decided to head to Lattitude 45 Grille for dinner. Pulling up to the venue, you notice how updated and pretty the joint is. There are a couple tables outside and beautiful potted flowers in the front, it's quite welcoming. Walking in, we were instantly greeted. We got sat in a small room that had a couple tables. It was separated from the main dining area. I appreciate the room we were in cause it created more of a personnal environment for my friend and I. The room was bright and vibrant. I love the big windows, it gave us a great view. I did check out the menu online. I noticed they had lobster manicotti. I was sold! Pasta, lobster and sauce, you can't get better than that! We breezed through the menus again while our drinks were getting taken care of. As many times as I looked the menu over and over again, I couldn't find the lobster manicotti. The waitress confirmed that they didn't offer it anymore. Such a bummer cause it was the only thing that really caught my eye. For dinner I settled for the chicken fontana with the pesto sauce on the side. I also got alfredo as my side since it was an option. I like that they give you pasta options as a side besides your typical fries and salad. Our meals came out super hot. I got a beautiful piece of chicken and a nice portion of alfredo. I can tell the pasta was freshly made, I was pretty close to burning my mouth cause of hot it was. The sauce on the pasta was rich and creamy. I did add a little salt and pepper to it, it needed just a pinchmore salt. The chicken was flavorful! Whatever they used as a crust on the chicken, it was nice! I used some of the alfredo sauce to dip the chicken in. The chicken was good but it was also kinda dry and there wasn't much cheese in the middle. The alfredo sauce really was needed. Our sweet server got a piece of the peanut butter cheesecake for my friend's birthday. She also put a birthday candle on the cheesecake for her. Little gestures like that are the best. The cheesecake was delicious! It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It had a good amount of chocolate on top. There were pieces roasted peanuts in the cheesecake that added a nice crunchy texture to it. It's a must have. Lattitude 45 was packed when we were leaving. Clearly they are doing something right. Service was great. The venue is beautiful. They produce good food. I'm happy we got to check this joint out and celebrate my friend's birthday here. I don't know when we will ever be back but if we are, we will definitely come back. And hopefully by then lobster manicotti will be on their menu!

It sounded like something a tourist should do when you're staying in a little town like Baker. The diner is part of the motel next door which is also called the Oregon Trail. Both venues are kinda dated. I'm sure in it's prime it was fabulous! But eating at this venue was pretty cool. It was like stepping into an old school time capsule. We sat ourselves at a booth on the very left of the diner. It was probably one of the only booths where the seating wasn't all messed up. We were instantly greeted and given menus. I did creep on their online menu this morning but it was good to see what I might miss. I got the country breakfast. It had two eggs, 5 slices of bacon and I opted for fresh fruit instead of the hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and yolky in the middle. The fruit was super fresh! It was still on the unripe side but still sweet. The bacon was ok. It was slightly overcooked in the middle and chewy on the ends. It was quite the experience eating here. The servers are really nice and really good at making sure your coffee cup is always full! By the time we left, there was a good crowd of people coming in. It was cool to experience Baker's local diner. It was neat dining here with all the locals.
