Quick, easy, friendly. First time girl bossing and finding a place to get my smog check as I went to the Davis DMV and they informed me I was due for one. Luckily found this spot on the same road less than .5 miles from the DMV!! Called and asked if I could come in or if they were booked for appointments. Guy on the phone was nice and told me it's first come first serve. I arrived around 8:45 and I was in and out in less than 27 minutes! Very fast and the guy was friendly and informative. Cars made before 2000 have a higher charge. Luckily for my car, it was after 2000. Shoutout to the Yelpers that mentioned to look at the $20 off coupons on their website! The coupon stated to show before filling out the forms for the appointment so I made sure to and the guy was pretty happy I read the directions to show them before service haha. Definitely recommend this spot. The vibes here were real, honest, and people-friendly. Only thing is that I had to drive around some loops because you're supposed to park along the street but when I first tried to park the spots were filled. No biggie. read more

Got a required smog check at E-Z Smog in October 2023. I called the 3 main places in Davis that do smog checks prior to selecting E-Z Smog. They all had coupons. E-Z smog ended up being the best deal in Davis - I paid $55. There is a designated space to park right out front for a smog check. However, it might be taken if there's a wait. I'd park as close to that spot as you can if you want to wait in line. When I went in, there was two people ahead of me. Even with the wait, the owner was efficient and had me out in less than 30ish minutes. I recommend going to E-Z Smog if you need a smog check in Davis! read more

Fast and EZ! Technicians are bery professional, waiting room is tiny, about 3 chairs. Parking can be tricky, but cars are serviced right away. They take cash, checks (sign says these payment methods are preferred, but cards are also accepted. Dont forget to bring your coupons and let the Technician know ahead of time and definitely before he prints the work order! read more

Do not come here... I repeat do not come here... If you want an excuse to get away from your family. I spent more time driving around to warm up my car (which is a pro tip: never bring in a cold car to get smogged) than I did actually inside of ez smog. In fact this place was so rude I didn't even get through a third of my Dutch Bros before they were done. I had to "enjoy" my coffee in the company of my family. I came on a Friday afternoon and was the only customer at the time. The smog check took less than 10 minutes. The price was $55 with a coupon for a 2014 Nissan, including electronic submission of the smog results to the DMV. I highly recommend this place for quick and affordable service. Very quick and efficient service. I needed to get my smog check done for the DMV and went in without any appointments. I did not have to wait too long before getting checked in and overall I was probably only there for 30minutes tops. 2000 or newer cars and pickups are $75 with a free retest-- but there's a coupon on their website! Needs to be shown before they start tho. I went in at 3pm on a Wednesday and there was no wait. He started work on my car right away. I was there for less than 20 minutes! My car passed (thank god) and he sent the pass electronically to the DMV. When you go, bring: - Cash! I found EZ Smog a few years ago. With their coupon (available on their website), the price was about the same as anywhere else in Davis. I can get a cheaper smog check in Woodland, but it's inconvenience for me to drive out to Woodland. Anyway - the reason why I have used EZ Smog is their honesty. First time I came in, I brought in my SUV which had a check engine light. The mechanic saw the check engine light when he started the car, and told me not to do the smog check until the light was gone. No charge. He could have just done a smog check and failed me, but he was honest upfront. On another occasion, I brought in my pickup truck for a smog check. I had just fixed it (o2 sensor), so I reset the check engine light. Went in for the smog check. The mechanics asked me if I had fixed the car recently, and I said yes. He went out with his OBD checker, and said it would not pass smog because I needed more driving on the car so it would have data. I ended up having to drive about 500 miles before the data was there. Once again - honest and upfront. I need another smog check done today.... Guess where I am going... EZ Smog! read more

Always bring my vehicles here without any issues. Friendly staff. Never had any problems redeeming coupons either. Check their website and show them the coupon before the service. The only negative is that they only have one spot to park in out front so if it is occupied you may have to circle around and the location is annoying in that regard. There isn't an easy way to circle so you have to go all the way around the block which takes ~3 min and hope the spot has opened up. I think it's okay to pull into the driveway but make sure you don't block it completely. read more
