One evening I walked into E Yuan Chinese after hours as they were closing, but hadn't yet locked the door. I apologized when I realized they were closed, and turned to go, but they insisted I sit down while they fired the kitchen back-up. I'm a business traveler, and eat out often... yet I've never been extended such a courtesy. It's typical Chinese food in a modest decor, but they've earned my patronage for as long as their doors are open. So far I've found 2 things on the menu that are "average": the egg rolls (they taste like they've come out of the frozen food aisle of the super market, but aren't bad otherwise) and the dumplings. The food has still been a good experience depending on who's in the kitchen and what day it is. I will return once the weather is warmer (I hate the seating set up because if you are by the entrance, you freeze each time the door opens) I will see if service improves.

I stopped in 22 minutes later and was told that my order wasn't ready. In fact, it hadn't been started. As I didn't have time to wait for it I told them I couldn't wait and left. So the nicest thing I can say is that it's better than the worst restaurant in Columbia. Beyond that, it's a great place for people with really low expectations! But if you want a better experience and better food, maybe drive to Chen's in Marietta or, if you want the best Chinese food in the area, cross the bridge and make the drive to River House.
