NIGHTMARE, lies, lies, incompetence upon lies. Don't trust anything Xfinity pathological liars…read moretell you. Called Xfinity after receiving flyer offer for 5 yr, $45 /mo. 300k plan.. Told them absolutely needed a 100 mb upload speed- minimum, security equip wont work right without it. Was told the download speed of the 1G 500k and 300k were all 117mb. Asked to reconfirm. was reconfirmed. Called back again just to be sure. Told that rep needed 100 mb upload min. 2nd rep confirmed the download speed of 100-to 117 mb was minimum. That rep confirmed the upload speed of all 3 plans was 117 mb, Asked him to reconfirm. he reconfirmed. Signed up. Modem recieved was modem/ wifi combo. Would only upload 35 to 40 mb. Got my owned modem connected. my modem uploads 300mb. Modem would only upload 40mb. Called back hours on the phone. finally was told the plan I confirmed and reconfirmed was 117 minium upload speed was only allowed to upload at 35- 40 mb. upload. Sent up to retention. Was told essentially it was my fault they lied to me because I told them what I needed so of course they lied and told me the plan did that to make a sale. Told me most people don't know any better that quick, terminate their old plan, and retention convinces them they will fix it, don't , then later convince them least work now is to keep xfinity, pay more to get what they need or keep the existing less than promised plan. I terminated the plan after 4 hours on the phone with a half dozen Xfinity reps most of which were either incompetent or outright liars.

XFINITY - Broken

I've been an Xfinity/Comcast customer for 20+ years, but I think that's over after my latest…read morebait-and-switch episode. I got a new xfinity gateway modem a few weeks ago because my Arris modem stopped connecting. I picked up the gateway at the Xfinity store and activated it. Shortly afterward (1/2 hour?) it started losing the connection every few minutes. I called Xfinity customer service and transferred thru to tech support, and after trying a few things remotely, they said it was definitely a hardware issue they would send a technician to check it, transferring me back to customer service to set up a time... I told them I would swap out the modem back at the Xfinity store but they said MULTIPLE times that I would NOT be charged for the tech visit. I asked this several times to verify. But, alas, I see on this month's bill that I was lied to, and I WAS charged and extra $100, despite being assured multiple times by Xfinity customer service that I would NOT BE. I asked them to look back in my account records and check the call notes that this was true. Their 'helpful' chat (which I finally got a human being onto, by typing 'human being' and getting out of their AI slop-loop of clickable questions) said they don't share that info between the CS and chat groups (?!). What abysmal service. I told them that I'd be cancelling my Xfinity soon and will be looking around to their local competitors for a better level of customer experience. And maybe a company whose left hand knows what its right hand is doing. BTW: They also added another $15 to my ongoing monthly bill for the 'privilege' of having their equipment on loan.

I signed up for Xfinity internet a couple years ago for 1 gig service at $70 a month, which felt…read morelike a fair price at the time. Somewhere along the way, with autopay on, my bill increased to $99 a month without enough transparency or value to justify it. If better pricing was available, existing customers should be offered that before they decide to leave. The bigger frustration has been trying to cancel service. There is no simple online cancellation option. It keeps directing you to call, and then every representative seems more focused on upselling than actually helping cancel the account. I've been transferred around and told someone else will help, only to repeat the same conversation again. Service reliability was also an issue. We experienced multiple outages in Denver. While they may offer small credits, the process to claim them feels like a maze and often is not worth the time for a few dollars. I already use Google Fiber at another property and have had a much smoother experience. Between rising prices, outages, and the cancellation hassle, this is likely the end of Xfinity for me in Denver.

StreamWise Solutions - outdoor TV antenna

StreamWise Solutions

Five stars for StreamWise Solutions, and special recognition for Juan…read more I originally contacted StreamWise to install an outdoor OTA antenna for our home. I've been using OTA television for about 13 years and currently have five TVs, each with its own indoor antenna. That setup worked, but I wanted to finally move to a properly installed outdoor antenna that could serve the entire house. StreamWise absolutely delivered on that. The reception from the new outdoor antenna is outstanding. Channels that could be inconsistent with the indoor antennas are now coming in extremely well, and having one properly installed antenna serving the house is a much cleaner and better solution. But surprisingly, the OTA installation may not even be the most valuable thing StreamWise did for me. Our house already had RJ45/Ethernet connections installed in multiple rooms, but they were useless because the wiring and central panel was not complete / bad. I wanted to take advantage of those connections for years because I prefer hardwired internet for stationary devices rather than having everything competing over Wi-Fi. Juanito took the time to look at the existing wiring, understand what had been done in the house, troubleshoot the panel, and get the Ethernet connections functioning. And he explained the setup so I actually understand how to manage it going forward. That is the real game changer for me. We're a family of four with a lot of connected devices, multiple TVs, streaming, security cameras, and everything else on three floors! Until now, most of that depended heavily on Wi-Fi. With the existing Ethernet infrastructure finally working, I can hardwire TVs and other high-use stationary devices (work laptop) throughout the house and reserve Wi-Fi for the devices that actually need it. That should allow me to get much more out of the internet connection I already have rather than simply paying for increasingly higher bandwidth. It also gives me the flexibility to consider lower-cost internet plans and other ISPs because the home network itself is no longer the bottleneck. That is what impressed me most about Juanito. He didn't simply show up, install the antenna I requested and leave. He recognized another problem that was important to me, took the time to work through it, fixed it, and then helped me understand the solution. That kind of service is worth calling out. So if you're considering StreamWise for an OTA antenna, I can absolutely recommend them. The antenna installation and reception have been excellent. But in my case, getting the wired network throughout my house working properly may end up being even more valuable over the long term. This is not inexpensive work especially all the things I needed help with like my RJ45 fix so I spent the money to do it right. I expect my ROI to take a few years, if not in one year if I can get the right ISP and affordable plan soon. In short, excellent work by StreamWise and especially Juanito. This was one of those service calls where I ended up getting considerably more value than I expected. Highly recommended. p.s. once I get the new internet, start seeing the savings plan to look at other options as needed. A mesh system to increase any bandwidth dead spots, I find and possibly the Tablo concept. Most likely will give Streamwise that business. I need them to stick around.
