My in-laws who live locally let me drive their 2025 cx50 hybrid and I knew I had to have one. I walked in to the dealership on a random Tuesday and Drake greeted myself and my husband and happily agreed to show us the inventory and go over pricing. We were in a time crunch the first day stopping in so I searched the inventory online for the white exterior I wanted, and when it didn't pop up, I texted Drake who said he could do a dealer trade for the specific colorway I wanted. As soon as I said I was interested in proceeding, Drake went to work for me. The very next morning he texted me that my car was ready for me to pickup! It must have been fate because that was my birthday! Tate helped us close the deal because Drake's shift ended earlier than I was able to get there, but ultimately I was able to drive my new car home on my birthday. I noticed a warped all weather mat on the back seat at the time of purchase and was assured that it could be molded straight. When I got it home however, it was clear that something under the mat was uneven because it folded/warped each time the seat back was placed upright again. I took it in and despite me and my husband initially making bit of a scene, Baylor helped us get the underlying problem fixed and had his team reshape the mat so it looks brand new again. Thanks to the team at Nelson Mazda. I couldn't love my new car more.

However, after speaking further, it became clear it was just a genuine internal communication error. The GM thought he had been told there was a scratch on the dash and didn't realize the extent of the actual issue. Where the scratch was located made the mixup understandable. Once the confusion was cleared up, Randy and the team at Nelson Mazda Murfreesboro really stepped up. They apologized for the oversight, gave me a visa gift card for my trouble with no strings attached, and went to work to make the deal right in hopes we could work together after the rocky start. They managed to beat a competing finance offer I had, securing me a better interest rate and a shorter term. They also replaced the windshield with a brand-new, warrantied one and included GAP and a two-year warranty. Throughout the entire process, Isaac was phenomenal. Zero pressure, high integrity, and a great advocate for me as a buyer. While the start was a bit bumpy, the way management handled the resolution proved they actually care about their customers and their reputation. The dealership assured me the vehicle had passed their inspection and that there was nothing wrong with it. My mechanic found several significant issues, including engine oil leaks, a cracked transfer case that appeared to have been covered with RTV sealant, evidence of substantial coolant leaks, brake pads that had been replaced without replacing or resurfacing the rotors ("pad slapped"), and a noticeably sluggish turbocharger. Based on those findings, I walked away from the purchase. During negotiations, the dealership also added roughly $2,000 for paint protection and included a dealer warranty without discussing either product with me first. When I asked for them to be removed, I was told the bank would likely deny financing without them. After insisting they submit the loan application without those add-ons, I was approved anyway. To make matters worse, they listed my trade-in vehicle for sale on their website for $11,899 and advertised it as being "on the lot" even though they had only offered me $5,800 for it and weren't even scheduled to receive it for another 10 days. I encourage anyone shopping here to always get an independent pre-purchase inspection on any used vehicle, regardless of what you're told.
