    I ordered rib tips.

Some of the best barque in Jackson. The wait time is pretty short if you can catch them when they're not busy. The inside doesn't have too much to look at but the good so that's all that matters. The location isn't welcoming though.

The food is amazing and delicious. We had a slab of delicious ribs that were drenched in delicious sauce with fries and baked beans. Also ordered a side of potato salad which was delicious. Ordered two pulled pork sandwiches as well and they were delicious, too. Waited in line about 30 mins but it was well worth the wait.

Honestly good, no frills BBQ. If you want a place with locally sourced gourmet sides, rotating drafts and free WiFi go someplace else. However if you want honest, solid pork BBQ this is your place. I was in town visiting for a wedding and my father in law asked to take me to lunch; I said I wanted something down-home and rib-sticking, so he didn't hesitate to recommend E&L. Two fantastic signs of a BBQ joint: I could smell the smoke when I pulled into the parking lot and there was a solid line of people waiting to order. We were there for the lunch rush and while it was crowded the line moves fast. We both went with the ribs and hot links combo plate (comes with two sides). First off the sides are superfluous; frozen fries and canned baked beans I believe. Second, who care here for the sides? I was impressed by the size of the ribs; they were quite large and had tons of meat. They are slathered in sauce. Usually I'm a sauce on the side kind of guy but here it felt right to get all over the styrofoam, your fingers and face. It was sweet but didn't overpower the smoke flavor I got from the ribs. I'm a big fan of hot links and since these were made in house I was excited. However they were dry, so they benefited from having sauce. No question the ribs were the standout; on my next visit I will opt for a rack instead. And why not a whole rack for the price? BBQ really has gotten more expensive everywhere but at E&L it was very affordable. An all around great BBQ experience in the Deep South.

If you are in Jackson craving good bbq. Try E & L. The place and taste has not changed since my JSU days. I ordered the tips, fries, and one wing. Everything sauce. The sauce is awesome! Sweet and southerly. You want need a drink with this meal. The tips are meaty with a mild smoky wood flavor. I had to try a wing just to have it covered in that sauce. I'm not a bread eater, but the sauce is soo damn good you would want to finger dip and taste until it's all gone. The bread allows you to have some manners while out in public. Smoke the tips longer to get a tad bit more of that wood flavor (pink ring). The cartilage and gristle were rough on the teeth. Location perfect! If you looking for good bbq, it want be in the common restaurants. This rib joint is a must try for those BBQ connoisseurs or cravers.

Sampler: 4 Ribs, 2 links, 2 wings salad and beans.

Shared the sampler platter and fries w/ sauce with my friend Jes. The links had a good spicy flavor, but were smoked till they were very dry. Very tender ribs. Smoked chicken was my favorite. Fries, salad and beans all standard Cisco. The sauce is just not my preference. Sweet molasses type thing with a liquid-smoke kind of kick. Best part of the whole deal was the cream soda. I'd forgotten about cream soda.

When my friend said it was in the hood, that is true but most of the BBQ places back home are in the hood to, so it's all good. We got there just before closing so they were out of beans out of chicken wings so I settled on a rib plate with double potato salad. The ribs were huge, not to fatty and covered in sauce. I usually don't eat white bread but I understand why it's a necessity to slop up the sauce. The ribs were good be not the best I've had either. I wish they would have been a little smokier. It could be a Texas thing since this is my first time trying any Mississippi BBQ. The potato salad was store bought and that was fine with me because I would prefer that to wondering who made the potato salad. My friend got her ribs with no sauce so she got smaller ribs, I didn't taste them to see if they tasted any different maybe I should have. The bottom line is I would return because I'm interested in trying the links and rib tips. Maybe I should have read the reviews before ordering and I would have ordered those instead. The ribs were still good especially if you like lots of sauce.

Absolutely amazing BBQ and potato salad with great prices for what you get! Don't judge the book by its cover and you won't miss an Itis inducing meal! Can't wait until my next visit to Jackson so I can try their hot links and chicken!

Good links, ok ribs, and pass on the limp/soggy fries. Go with sauce on the side unless you like everything covered in a sweet sauce.

Amount of food you get for what you pay is decent. The ribs were tender, but a little salty.

The ribs were cold, which took away any chance of enjoying them the way they should be: tender and piping hot with that kiss of smoke. Without that, it was just tough meat on a bone. I will say the rub was flavorful, but it couldn't help the toughness. Also got a beef sausage with onions and while the snap of the casing was pronounced, the insides were cold and bland as well. Barbecue sauce is usually the soul of a place like this, something that tells you the story of the pitmaster and their craft. Here, there was no story, just packets of Kraft BBQ sauce. It felt impersonal, like the heart of the place was missing. The sides didn't step in to rescue things either. The potato salad and baked beans tasted like they came straight from a grocery store container, unseasoned and uninspired. When the main event falls flat, the sides should at least give you a reason to come back, but they didn't. I wanted this spot to be a hidden gem, the kind of place you recommend to friends when they ask for local flavor. Instead, it was the kind of meal you forget as soon as you walk out the door, and that's the real disappointment.

I wanted to go Tuesday but coworkers didn't want to go out. Tried to go Wednesday but they were closed for dinner. My flight was leaving later in the day on Thursday and I had to try to go. Online it said they were open at 10 am. I checked out of the hotel and headed to the restaurant. There were already a lot of people waiting for them to open. To my surprise they opened at 10:30. When the doors opened people were "fighting" to get inside. This is a buffet setting. You pay before eating. To go plates are available for purchase. There is an upstairs eating area. I think there were 3 hot stations, a cold station, and a desert station and an ice cream machine. All the food looked so good. I had to get a little taste of everything. The fried chicken and fried chicken livers were Hands down my favorite things. I like greens that are tangy with a little spicy - these were not that. The cornbread was hard couldn't eat it. Everything else was ok. Nothing that I had that "gotta go back for more" feeling (except the chicken). There were so many offerings, and they have Pepsi products. They have a drink station but The servers bring you drinks. I definitely would go back again if I'm in the area.

The location was decently decorated and seemed to be clean and it wasn't too noisy for our table of four to eat and have conversation without competing with neighboring tables overall, a fantastic experience, price and value were definitely good. After looking over the menu, I was impressed with the selection of meat and vegetables included in the buffet, more than similar Korean buffets I have been to. I also liked the number of available sauces to further season the food. Service was fast and efficient. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken and filled shortly afterward. Staff was really friendly and helpful when we had questions. Soon, our order of meats and veggies arrived and the cooking began. The containers tend to take a fair amount of space on the already small tables so keep that in mind if you order a wide variety of meats. We had to stack the containers as we cooked the meat but the server removed them pretty quickly. One really neat feature of the tables I enjoyed was a plate warmer at each seat location, at least in the booths. That helped keep the cooked meat warm while waiting for the other cooking food to complete. Very nice touch. I will definitely return the next time. I'm in town.

It includes cooked starters such as rice, noodles, spicy chicken, spring rolls, wontons, gyoza, etc.. and many protein and veggie options to cook yourself. The beef bulgogi and flank steak were awesome! Shrimp was nice and fresh. The meat is already marinated, but there is also a spice and sauce bar in case you want to take it up a notch. I put a mixture of green onion, minced garlic and cilantro on the beef **chef's kiss**. Note: Other than the short rib, they give you a hefty portion of meat per selection. I suggest maybe ordering 1 or 2 meats per person and if you want more or to try something different later, request it at that time because there is a $13 per lb up-charge for wasting food. Price for the all-you-can-eat buffet is $30.99pp (at the moment). Yakiniku does have lunch specials, value packages for groups, bento boxes, and options if you don't want to cook yourself, but that is really part of the experience and it's super easy. Ambiance is family-friendly, good for groups. Overall, I loved it! A few things that I think would provide a better experience: - If the servers clean or switch out the grill like at other KBBQ spots once it gets dry or too charred. You could probably just request this though. - Different tongues or handlers for each meat instead of one since you're dealing with raw meat (and maybe some sanitizing wipes at the table).
