Little tea shop heaven... We wandered into this store at the farther end of Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. At first taken in by cute French Macarons, and then hooked with an insane selection of very expensive tea. Very... very.. expensive, but delicious tea.
On another note Délices du Roy also has jams and spreads and other jars of deliciousness, but I was here for the tea.
Tea heaven... yes. I wasn't too into hot teas before the trip. I enjoyed them occasionally, but I didn't own a teapot or tea set that I'd equate to the dignity of most loose leaf teas. Even though I have a kettle and can boil water it just seemed meh to putting such nice tea in a crummy coffee mug. But, I love smelling teas and dreaming, plus my other owns several tea sets and is a huge tea drinker. So we spent what was 30 mins looking and smelling the tester teas. I'd recently tried a black rose tea at a Laduree in France and this seemed the perfect time to get my mitts on a black rose tea. They had several green teas with rose, but no black teas with rose off the bat. Eventually, I found two and while they weren't like the one I had a laduree, they were black teas with rose that smelled divine. At 23 euros it is the most expensive tea purchase I've made in my entire life. I regret nothing. My mother loaned me a tea pot and nicer cups and that black tea is absolutely amazing. Thus, begins my tea time adventures.
Délices du Roy on top of what is already expensive tea, they also sell even more expensive tea at 40 euros a jar. It smelled divine, but I'll stick with what I have. They also had a gorgeous sakura petal tea, but it smelled too sweet.
If you love tea, I couldn't recommend this shop enough. There are also plenty of fancy stores along the Galeries Royales, but all very expensive. read more
